Location
The place was a mess, the white sheets turned brown and rusty with bad odor not to mention the big brown dirty stains on them, when we asked for the dirty and gross sheets to be changed we were told "you people make them this way others use them this way you too use them". The toilet brush had human waste from ages back you can tell they never wash it. The window has no curtain compromising privacy, when we requested for curtain it was declined. You literally hear pronounced sexual noises from the other rooms. We were offered 1 bottle of wine by the owner as an apology in the morning.

The location only
Everything from check in process which was horrible, unfriendly staff, to dirty curtains and floors in the rooms, bad smell, no aircon. It was just bad

Only the swimming pool
The parking is not marked and very limited and makes it difficult to park there. I booked the room with garden view and i was given the room in the main house. It was hot and if u have sinus and not want to use aircon, u dont have an option to open the door in the house, it was better on the sliding door from the garden view room that i have booked and not given.

What i liked about the place was the ambiance! The reception artwork was such an attraction for me; the deco, the antics. I wish i could stay there longer :-)
What left me confused and worried was the sound or sounds from other rooms channeling to ours. Made me worry about privacy.

We had a great time but it was short lived.

Nice location, nice welcome and reception area.
Room requires some upkeep. Broken shutters, tatty rugs and towels, broken mirrors (cupboards doors).
Toilet seat worn out.

No privacy and alot of noice from the kitchen. Send a mail to [email protected] and follow up 3 times with no response.

I loved the staff. We arrived late and they were waiting for us. The room was very spacious and clean. It was completely comfortable and the bathroom was superb. I enjoyed the outdoors and the fact that it's very close to a lot of beautiful places.

Everything was on point, except the towels. The place is properly secured.
The towels were old and scratchy.

I liked that the guest house is located in an upmarket and safe suburb. It is less than a kilometer from Emerald. Spar shopping center is a few hundred meters away. It is close to a shopping center with many eating places. The parking is secure. The grounds are neat and pretty. The staff are quiet but accommodating. The room is decorated quaintly with modern furnishings. Our room had a kitchen with tea and coffee provided. The bathroom was clean and modern. You are provided with clean towels and toiletries. Breakfast was simple but good. There is Dstv with a good range of channels. The public areas are neat and clean with pretty decor. The swimming pools are not heated as in the description but they are cooling, clean and inviting. There is a lapa with braai facilities. This room is great for families with 2 to 3 children under the age of five who can all share a room together. Keep in mind this is great for families who are only staying for one or two nights. There is no entertainment facilities for the little ones besides the two pools.
The room was close to the guest house gate entrance so you could hear the cars passing by at night on a busy road. The bed spread and scatter cushions were pretty but dirty. The sleeper couch and additional single seater couches were filthy as well as the mink blanket provided for cold nights. Fortunately you could just take these off and leave them aside. The curtains and bedside carpets could do with a wash too. The shower did not have hot water but luckily the bath did. There are no rails to lift yourself up out of the bath so you need to be very cautious. Booking.com says cleaning materials are provided in the kitchen which is not true. I am not too sure the dishcloth was clean enough to dry the coffee cups. The cups were dusty. The cutlery had dirt marks. The ceiling fan and standing fan both make a huge noise. The toilet seat was not mounted straight so you sat slightly askew.

The outdoor areas
Bed in room was not comfortable, no airconditioning, no water in fridge on arrival.
Linen was not clean, pillows needs replacement
