Amazing! The apartment is beautiful, a work of art in itself. While it doesn't have a view out to the sea (except from the bathroom), there are large sliding glass doors and windows in the living room and bedrooms that open onto a lovely lawn and garden, with unspoiled forest beyond. Even the drive up is spectacular. The apartment is well designed, with ample space and very comfortable furniture and beds (with high quality linens and plenty of pillows). The kitchen was generously stocked with breakfast and snack items, as well as everything we needed to prepare a simple meal. The hosts are a lovely couple who live in the main house. They kept in touch, letting us know when they were out and how to contact them if we needed to, and providing us with a flexible checkout as they didn't have a following guest. Everything was spotlessly clean and in good repair. We appreciated the underfloor heating system that kept the entire space at a comfortable and even temperature even during the chilly early morning, and we made use of the washer and dryer (provided in the garage). Truly this was a wonderful stay in a very special place. I just wish we could have stayed longer.
If I absolutely had to complain about something, it would be the water pressure in the shower, which was very low. However, it did get the job done, and given the fact that the water supply is limited (it's collected rainwater, filtered and purified), this was an extremely minor issue.

Lovely stay with two small kids at Kotare house. The hosts Alysn and Brian are super welcoming and we felt at home. The kids loved the garden and we enjoyed the spectacular views. Swimming in Anchor Bay nearby is just perfect.

The bed was FANTASTIC - best ever in paid accomadation. Well done.
The shower has no pressure - but that often happens when you have a tank.

Wonderful place with a beautiful view. Beach was close by. The house was neat and clean and the hosts were terrific. Would love to come back here. Perfect for a family stay.

Very nice location with everything you need and more, like cereal for breakfast, fresh food and so on.
Waterpressure in the shower could be better.

One of the best places I have booked (photos do not do the apartment or views from the property justice), it was so well equipped with lots of thoughtful touches, perfect location as a wedding guest at Tawharanui Lodge and really friendly and accommodating hosts who let us check in early. Thank you!

The 2 bedroom unit is spacious and well equipped. The patio and lawn are a great place to relax.
A car is essential to reach the beaches and shops.

I would highly recommend. The views were amazing, check in and out extremely easy. Comfortable, clean with everything you need, and the hosts were lovely and easy going. The house in person is so much more beautiful, and the set up amazing. Not too far from so many beautiful beaches and matakana.

The rural location and views from every room, so peaceful. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The owners/staff are very helpful and friendly.

The apartment was excellent!! Induction stove was a plus (we have at home). Large fridge, excellent cookware, cutlery and glassware. Very easy to cook dinner and breakfast! Very comfy and large bed. Beautiful bathroom. Very close to a regional park, and the hosts had a nice walking trail right behind their yard. Hosts were extremely accommodating, especially during the coronavirus shut-down.
I should be a little shorter! I bumped my head once on the slanted ceiling! Seriously, everything was great!
