About this house rental
In 2016 a major renovation/addition created this large home in Breckenridge just 3 blocks off Main Street. This location makes it perfect for walking to restaurants, bars, shops and the shuttles or gondola, that will take you to the base of Breckenridge Ski Resort. The view of Peaks 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 from the front of the house is truly unmatched, no matter the season.
Originally built in the 1960 our house was an "A" frame. It has been remodeled twice by the current owners, in the summer of 2002, and again in 2015/16. The latest remodel added: 2 beautiful bedrooms with en suites, a loft with bathroom, garage for parking, great room with wet bar, fireplace and BIG VIEWS of the ski hill. The kitchen was completely remodeled with new appliances, cabinets and island. The living room or "Goodnough" room, as we call it, is named after the original owner. It has a 50" flat screen television with DVD/VCR, large couch and big table for games and puzzles. The new Great room has a fire place with multiple areas where guests can gather to eat, play games and/or watch TV on the 55" flat screen. With the addition of the wet bar, a cold beverage is only steps away. All of this, while enjoying possibly the best view in the town of Breckenridge.
With 7 bedrooms, loft and 7 bathrooms, this house can accommodate groups of varying sizes. Four of the bedrooms have king size beds and en suites. Two bedrooms have 2 twin beds and the last bedroom has a queen bed. There is also a loft that could accommodate a couple more guests and has a full bath. The kitchen and dining area were renovated in 2016 with updated appliances and furnishings. There is a sitting area as well, where you can enjoy a cup of coffee while watching the sun gradually light up the ski hill in the mornings or as it dips down behind the 10 Mile Range in the evenings.
The half-acre wooded lot offers seclusion while being just three blocks off Main Street. This property is within a block of a shuttle stop to the ski mountain, or four blocks to the gondola, that will take you to peaks 7 and/or 8. Many of our past guests never use their car, because everything in town is just steps away.
Amid the pines in the rear of the house is a large hot tub, as well as a BBQ grill and a disc golf basket. With a half acre there is plenty of land to create several holes of your own design. A true gem in the middle of this historic ski town.
If your group is larger than this house accommodates, OR you want to be closer to the base of Peak 8, check out our other property, Campbellot House, as an additional or alternative rental. Located just blocks from the gondola with great views of the ski hills, Campbellot is our family's favorite because it's a short walk to the ski lifts, and the gondola. Campbellot House is VRBO listing #102263.
Breckenridge is a 150 year old Victorian mining town - as opposed to other ski resorts, Breckenridge is truly a real town. It has more night life than anywhere else in Summit County, with over 200 restaurants/bars and shops. Besides the usual skiing in winter and hiking and biking in summer, Breckenridge offers a summer music festival with orchestral performances from classical to contemporary music as well as other festivals appealing to every age group most weekends over the course of the summer. Besides the weekly summer festivals, the base at Peak 8 turns into a families paradise in the summer. There is an alpine slide, mountain coaster, zip line, miniature golf and a multitude of family activities.

We had a wonderful time with this property. We had a family reunion and there was tons of space for everyone the view is incredible. The home is near everything. The owners and property manager were super responsive.

We had three generations, 13 people, using this house for a week. It was perfect for us. Two living rooms, huge kitchen, plenty of dishes and cookware, lots of bathrooms. We could walk to downtown. The hot tub was great during the cool evenings. The puzzles and record player were a bonus. Would definitely recommend.

This house was perfect for our family of 14! The house is beautiful and clean with plenty of sleeping and living space. The kitchen is well equipped with just about anything you might need. The host and the caretaker were both easy to communicate with and very responsive. We will definitely look to stay here again when we gather in Breckenridge!

Everything about this place was amazing. More than enough room for the 14 people we had there including full bathrooms everywhere you look. Great location, easy access, excellent communication with owner/keeper. Walking distance to Main Street and hiking trails.
Absolutely STUNNING view of the mountains, and even had a moose in the backyard one morning!!
Cannot recommend this place enough.

Nana, Papa (70's), 2 kids and spouses (40's), and 5 grands (7-15) 11 total. We had planned on 14, but ended up with 11
The house was prefect! Could have easily accommodated 14.
Great location, about 10 minute walk to the Gondola to reach the slopes. We had one rental car and carried everyone's equipment to the gondola (and the younger grands) to make it easier.
Easy walk to Main Street for shopping and dining. However the kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need for cooking. We cooked most nights and all breakfasts. Plenty of seating for everyone.
We highly recommend this house for your group ski trip!

We notified the caretaker of our arrival and entered with the door code without any issues. My group greatly enjoyed the layout of the house. It was easy to have a group at the upstairs loft area and another in the kitchen and the isolation was so good that you could barely hear music at the other side of the house, and not much conversation unless someone was shouting. It was an easy walk to Main Street and the Peak 8 Gondola (10 minutes), and about 20 minutes to Blue River Sports where we got rentals. We really enjoyed the large communal tables where we shared meals and played board games in the evening. My only feedback is that the door lock shortcut button was broken when we got there (had to enter the code to lock the door again) and that there was some prior damage to floorboards that can cause splinters. Otherwise, we had a great stay and would absolutely recommend as a place just the right distance from the slopes.

Rented this home for a bachelorette trip and we had the best time. The house had everything we needed (including a traditional coffee pot, even though photos only show a Keurig). We rented our skiing equipment from a shop near the gondola and we only had to carry the boots to and from, so the walk was no issue, but it might be a little far for someone carrying all of their equipment. It was perfect for us. Such great proximity to Main Street and the view was incredible. The hot tub was also very nice and the heated steps to get to it were such a nice touch!

We could not have been happier with our "vacation home" in Breck. This has become an annual event for our family and each year it only gets better.
Thanks so much to the McWilliams family and home that made welcoming 2024 an exciting event.

We had 4 generations from 7 states gather at the McWilliams House and it was EXCEPTIONAL! A quick walk to Main Street; the skiers in the group walked to the Gondola; and at night there was plenty of room for family games and meals. We’d definitely stay there again and would highly recommend it for anyone who wants to share a great time with a large group! An EXCELLENT location and property.

To say this home was perfect for our family is an understatement!! The location is close to everything! The way the home is set up was so awesome to have areas for the teens/young adults to do their things, older adults had our area , so much room to all meet up in the main area. Bedrooms so spread out, comfortable and quiet even if some stayed up late. Had a great Thanksgiving meal, bought disposable roasters for ham and turkey but enough plates, baking dishes, bowls to make it happen. Only thing I missed was an electric chopper for cranberries but made it work with a blender! Fridge is big enough for all the food with a great pantry for non-perishables. Caretakers could not have been better for help when we needed it for something we couldn’t figure out! Our week was perfect, even getting three days of snow for us Alabamians!!! Our trip couldn’t have been better for our 50th anniversary celebration with our family and this home made it work for sure!!

Blocks fro the heart of town, this home had plenty of room for our family of 12 to hang out and have comfortable sleeping rooms. Plenty of privacy for all and three large gathering areas. We enjoyed the patio, BBQ and hot tub.

This is the fourth time our family has spent a week at one of the owners' properties in Breck. As in the past, this year was a very enjoyable visit for us. The house is in good condition and had more-than-sufficient bedrooms for our group of 12 people. The owners and the caretaker (Doug) are great people and communicators. The location is ideal - close to downtown, but away from the traffic. We highly recommend this house for your Breck get-a-way. Make sure to enjoy the front patio with an early morning coffee or a late afternoon beer/wine or an evening s'mores party.

We went to Breckinridge as a family of 13! This property has incredible views and the location was perfect. Well stocked kitchen and so many bath towel. Lots of space for everyone to spread out. Can’t wait to come back. Doug was easy to work with and answered our questions quickly !

This place was great and was everything we needed for our vacation.
The only thing thats a bit sad is that the place is much more beautiful and spacious than the photos show.

This is a splendid property with the added bonus of having a live in caretaker. Doug (The caretaker) did not intrude but was a rich source of advice and information. In short we loved the property.

Outstanding, beautiful house. Three separate wings of the house accommodated all 14 of us very comfortably. Big, beautiful second story living room, big gourmet kitchen stocked with everything for cooking big family dinners. Stocked with books and games; hot tub with a heated walkway right out the back door; easy walk to town.; nice garage space. So many thoughtful extras like a first floor laundry and bathrooms galore. We had a fantastic family reunion facilitated by this comfortable living space. Absolutely loved it; recommend this big house highly. Super friendly and helpful property manager.

We really enjoyed our stay. The location of the property is phenomenal. Minutes away from the grocery store, a quick walk to town, easy walk to the shuttle to get the to slopes. The house was laid out well for our family. We had lots of room to spread out. Had some great family dinners around the huge kitchen table. The owners left sleds in the garage for the kids. The hot tub was a huge hit with everyone! They had pack n plays and high chairs for the little one in our group. Beds were comfortable and showers had ample hot water and great water pressure.
Great house, easy to communicate with the friendly and responsive property managers, and just all around great stay. Highly recommend this spot!!

We had 14 in our group and there was plenty of room. The common area was great for hanging out. Easy walk to main street. Enough parking for 5-6 cars. There's a property manager who stays in an apartment just behind the garage. Super nice and very responsive.
Would definitely stay here again.

Amazing and spacious house a short walk away from downtown Breckenridge. The house was clean and Ingrid provides a helpful summary before checking in. We had a disruption in our trip and Ingrid was highly accommodating. Would highly recommend this house for any larger groups.

Big Family Summer in Summit
Thirteen of our closest family stayed at this wonderful home for five days in late June and had an amazing time. The location is ideal, a quick walk to downtown Breckenridge and the free gondola up the mountain, but still quiet and nestled in trees. A well-appointed, open kitchen for family meals, great layout with en suite bathrooms for each bedroom, and amazing mountain views from the second floor. Responsive and helpful property manager. Would definitely stay here again.

So very good!
Hesitant to write a review lest the place start getting booked too much. We were three families and had everything we could ever want.
Slight knock, the hot tub could use a little clean.

Gorgeous property, some maintenance gaps
Amazing views, incredibly spacious, well-designed house, walking distance to the Breck gondola! What more can you ask for?
Well, for one thing, there was no shampoo in the showers. (I bought a few bottles at the local grocery store and left them some, in hopes that the next guests will not be as disappointed as we were.)
The shampoo issue was the first of a seemingly-unending list of minor problems which had only a minor impact our lovely stay, but did cause me to think it was a bit unprofessional:
The garage door doesn't open from the outside. The lovely hot tub (with a heated walk!) works perfectly, except that the cover was slightly broken and thus needed two people and a lot of effort to get on and off. The fireplace was broken. And a few other things which I didn't write down and have since forgotten.
These things are no big deal, and I wouldn't even be writing about it if there were only one or two, but it was annoying how many tiny issues there were.
Overall, though, highly recommended despite the issues!

Best rental we have ever stayed in!
This house was very well equipped with everything we needed. We went with extended family here for a ski trip. For those who didn't ski, the house was a beautiful oasis. Lots of windows giving scenic mountain views. There were games, movies and puzzles which we took full advantage of each day. The hot tub was delightful to use while it was snowing! The house attendant was always available for any questions we had during our stay. House was located very close to town so you could walk if you wanted. Convenient to the ski spots so we could easily drop off skiers. I have stayed in a lot of VRBO rentals, and this was my favorite one of all. Overall a fabulous family vacation experience!

Everything about this house was amazing, from the location to the manner in which this property is kept. It was stocked with everything you would need in a kitchen and it had a warm family feel. Not to minute it was walking distances from Main St and all the other activities in town. I would recommend this property time and time again. And thanks to Doug for his hospitality and taking great care of us!
