Staying in such a magical, well maintained castle was a dream. The gardens were great and really enjoyed exploring the castle and all the rooms.

A stay at one of Ireland's luxury castles is a real treat. Perhaps pricey to do every night of a trip, but such a special experience.
Somehow Google maps was just a bit off so we got lost coming in. Maybe a caution to not miss the cuttoff for the castle.

Feeling absolutely welcome. The access to all places/rooms and quietness. To be able to linger and look. Everywhere extremely tidy and clean.
Beautiful garden and places to sit outside. The self-help complimentary tea in the afternoon was great! A lovely delicious touch! And you could take your cup and take it out to the garden. Roshine is a nice addition to make it even classier and real.
The afternoon tea was delicious but some plain little scones would have been great or something for people who want to avoid too much sugar.
The music could have been a bit more Irish/ mystical.

Absolutely magical! It's like being in your own personal fairytale.
That we could only stay one night!

Breakfast was wonderful, very attentive staff .My husband and I enjoyed our stay so very much. Now I'm very excited about my daughter's wedding in March. An absolutely wonderful venue. The grounds around the castle are spectacular, there's nothing I can fault.
We stayed in a tower room, very small windows, I like to see outdoors and open windows.

Everything! Staff was warm and friendly, especially the Castle dog! Food and drinks were amazing, and the Castle and grounds were breathtaking! Received a free room upgrade with a footed tub and garden view. Loved exploring the Castle and grounds, finding fabulous things around every corner!

Everything was perfect, specially the staff. We loved the dinner at the restaurant. The details around the castle and the garden was just magic. Our room was a little small but the bathroom was big enough, really clean with all the toiletries. We recommend this place.

The staff make this. They are efficient and friendly. Obviously the castle and its history and its setting. Breakfast was good and I appreciated (as a lone traveller) being given a window table at breakfast. Normally when I travel alone I get the worst table in the room. I usually get the worst bedroom too. To avoid that I paid more to get the nest room - roll top bath in bedroom! I met the cleaning staff too - they too were lovely and very friendly.
As a lone traveller it’s often not fun eating dinner alone. Especially in a grand dining room. I had hoped to eat in the bar. Or my room. But food is not served after 5.30. So I had a kind of combined lunch/dinner at 3 (after long drive)but did feel hungry at dinner time and went to bed hungry. (Nicer complimentary biscuits please. These are a little budget hotel. I’d suggest a local biscuit maker)? I suggest you give lone travellers the chance to eat away from the main dining room? Even a sandwich is ok? Breakfast is fine though - (for lone eating). Maybe you don’t get many lone travellers?
My room was piping hot. I mean steaming. It was like a furnace. I slept on top of the covers with windows open and fan on. But to be fair the hotel sent someone to open windows and set up fan. They apologised and were extremely proactive in helping me. But it was disappointing. I think they need to sort the heating out as I gather some rooms are slightly cold. But it’s a castle of around 400 years old, so good it has heating at all.
It’s a TINY bit like a museum. I do appreciate its age and its style but it might just do with a touch of modernity. Nothing too drastic! (I’d
lose the mounted stag heads?) A few more plugs and a few more modern pictures. (Again nothing much - it’s a castle after all!) Roisin the dog is a wonderful bonus. Staff and pets make places special - this place has both.
But it’s a unique place to stay. Probably best for couples or groups and totally amazing for weddings.

We loved our stay, all the staff were friendly, the receptionist was very welcoming and we felt very relaxed, we had dinner in the restaurant, the food was delicious and looked so beautiful, compliments to the chef. Our room was fabulous ,with views of the exquisitely kept garden, we had a walk through the beautiful gardens where we met the beautiful resident dog. We had drinks in the very relaxed bar area, the castle has lots of interesting rooms to walk around , such a beautiful place.

Beautifully decorated & the ambiance & friendliness / attention of the staff was excellent.
The lightening in the room was very dull & particularly in the Bathroom it was very difficult to put on your make up, the mirror was on the wall and the large handbasin straight in front, which meant when you were standing to use the mirror you were approximately 2ft 6 inches from the mirror, maybe if you had a magnifying mirror on the wall plus better lighting over the mirror you might be able to rectify this problem.

Everything about our stay was ten out of ten. Went for dinner which was of exceptional quality and a great experience of fine dining. Grounds were perfectly manicured, and staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Location was very peaceful and tranquil.
Nothing not to like. Exceptional experience.

Location was excellent, dinner was amazing, grounds are fabulous.
The wine could have been better, a screw top bottle with an amazing meal did not fit the ambience. We could not get to sleep due to a group playing pool outside our room. We had to ring reception twice about it and it finally stopped after 1 am. We asked for drinks on the patio and were told there was no service, you had to go into bar, however there was service for other guests late on.
