Good location but not much else to offer.

Location on the beach

Very dirty bathroom and foul smelling. The drain was blocked so water from the shower would flood and smell. The corner of the bunk where I had to climb up was broken. The bed was uncomfortable I could feel the railings below through the mattress where it was so worn down. Cobwebs all over the ceiling near to where I was sleeping. Loud music all evening so if you want an early night I don’t recommend it. I woke up with bites all over my legs despite spraying a lot of mosquito spray. The staff member who checked us in was very rude, when we asked simple questions he became very defensive. Did not allow us to swap rooms to be with our friends even though there was empty beds in there.

Nice Spot

The property was in a great location, walking distance to nice restaurants and on the beach. The staff were friendly and a good atmosphere.

Wi-Fi was quite poor.

A vista para o mar e as áreas comuns.

Eles não possuem funcionários permanentes, então se precisar de alguma coisa, ou de algum responsável, esquece!

Hostel sur la plage

Yohan est un hôte exceptionnel, il vous aidera sur votre itinéraire et vous donnera de super conseils. La chambre est conforme à la description, le lit est confortable. L’hostel est sur la plage directement donc idéal pour aller se baigner, plusieurs restaurants se trouvent autour.

Das Zimmer war super feucht und stank nach Schimmel. In diesem Zimmer sollte kein Gast übernachten. Auf Nachfrage wurde uns ein neues Zimmer angeboten. Auch hier war Schimmel zu sehen. Ich kann die Unterkunft leider nicht weiterempfehlen.

Great location. The common area has a gorgeous view of the beach and ocean. Wi-fi was strong. The Host make sure I was well taken care of and provided a ton of very useful information.

The location is right on the beach, also close to the stores. It was a lot of space and also very clean. I appreciate also the avilabity of drinking water. The host helped me a lot with my plan and transportation for the next days. He even stored some of my things while I was on the road.

Yohan was really helpful in making décision about my trip in Sri Lanka, he gave m many advice and tips which was really nice from him. Advice anyone to go there before to start your trip around Sri Lanka. Thé place was clean and nice with a beautiful view on the sea!! Thank you so much

the beach view is great! the owner was also great to reach and gave good advise. he even turned the AC on. he organsed an airport pickup. theres drinks in the hostel u can buy

the sink for the girls room was really dirty on my first day but it got better then. there is currenly a big renovation which makes the common area a bit uncomfortable (but the owner said this while booking)

Cheap and cheerful.

I like that it was a 4 bed room rather than a 6, 8 or 10. I like the balcony that looks at the ocean and the size of the room for 4 people. The staff were super friendly. Very affordable for a great location. Give you a lock box for all your valuables.

The air conditioning is only on at night so if you're in the room during the day it's quite hot. Only 1 shared bathroom for the 4 beds. Wasn't dirty but wasnt immaculate.

great view and value for price

the location, price, and facilities are great. i booked a room without AC and I’d recommend going for one if you are planning your stay around the hot days. the property is clean and has a wonderful view of the beach

Location, view and staff. The room was big, modern and had a great view.

There were building works downstairs (the owner notified me after booking) Once these are complete it should be a cool place.

Coolest place in Negombo

To me the best budget hotel in Negombo, mainly the way it works, with common area to make tea/coffee, a fridge, a nice tables/hammocks area with a great view on the beach and sunsets. Dorms are good, definitly recommand the one with the beach view, double rooms are great to, large and tidy with also the nice view on the beach. Owner is very relax and always do little things to improve the confort and is very handy if you have any needs or questions, he definitly brings the good atmosphere to his place and are usually cool really people hanging around. Definitly can't think of another place when in Negombo.

Great view but construction site

Beautiful view from the balcony and common space to the beach, perfect with the hammocks for a relaxing time before or after going to the airport. It was social for Negombo area as I think most backpackers choose this place because of the beach.

It’s a construction site and it’s very dirty everywhere, I would not stay here for longer at the moment.

Perfect friendly place in Negombo

Perfect Hostel in Negombo, close to the airport and directly on the big wide beach. Met loads of nice people here. Relaxing atmosphere on the veranda with tables and hammocks, overlooking the beach. Yohan, who runs this place, is a gem of a person. He goes out of his way to make you comfortable and personally takes care of his guests' needs. Stayed in the private room, very spacious, with a big balcony and amazing views. The hostel is directly on the main beach road, so plenty to do and lots of restaurants, shops and bars all round. Definitely will come back!

If concerts or special events like the Fifa worldcup viewings are held on the beach in front, this whole area has all the action and can be loud. Bring earplugs ;-)

location is practically on the beach, which is amazing. clean facilities and overall a very pleasant stay!

Good for budget travelers

Yohan, the host, is amazing! He helped me with planing my stay. The hostel is right next to the beach which is amazing. The commun area is very nice too. It's a good hostel to start your trip.

The bathroom is quite dirty and you have to pay extra if you want A/C in your room.

Best Starting-Point to backpack Sri Lanka

Easy to find! Room with a balcony and beachview! Nice place nearby with amazing food (Lucky‘s Restaurant) Good to meet other travellers.

There was a music festival nearby. Super loud so it was hard to sleep but i personally didn‘t mind.

Do not go this place. Full of mosquito and far from everything

Hostel was clean Staff was really good and helpful They did the best they can for me but many negetive things about location and facility of Palce

Very far from everything Far from train station Far from bus station Very far from bandaranaike airport And full full of mosquito that bit you every second(1000mosquitoes around you 24hours a day) Do not ho there I read reviews Before many peolple sayed that all resturant around are good So the fact is that all the Resturants was very expensive and no quality of food!! One burger was 8 dollars one pitzza was 9 dollars!! And very small size Do not go this place and all place near this location Just book hostel in center and close to airport Best rigards.

A great stay

Yohan was such a great host! His knowledge of Sri Lanka and recommendations were great and he made us feel so at home. The room was clean and comfortable, and very spacious. The location is great and it’s above a nice restaurant with a good menu as well as being right on the beach which we loved.

A hostel with a great host that will care about you and what you need!

I choose a private room in a hostel so that I can meet people to spend time with them. This happened and I connected easily with others. Right under the hostel there is a Restaurant where you can have everything for good prices. The hostel is right a the beach. The host spends a lot of time with the guests and is really there for them. He acts differentely to other locals ans makes you feel safe and understood as a tourist. He is really good in communicating with everybody and giving tips to them how to continue their travels and where to go.

The place to hang out could have been cleaner, it's still under construction.
