House was in a great spot and host was excellent with responsiveness and providing helpful information. The house has everything you need. It’s an old house so bathrooms and some aspects reflect that.

The house might be my wife’s dream house: lots of character but nicely updated. It was a hot week and the AC was strong. The grill was clean and ready to go. There were tons of games and puzzles for downtime. And the location is exceptional. Just a block to all the action, but still on a quiet street. It was perfect for our mini family reunion.

Staying at Kay's place was truly magical. The house was spotless and extremely spacious. My spouse, kids, and grandkids all found places to have time to themselves and time to gather together. The living room was perfect for playing games in the evening and just sitting around and talking. The location of this house couldn't have been more perfect: steps from the grocery store and the Village Green and bustling downtown. We all wished we could have stayed longer and would love to come back here when we come back to Bar Harbor!

Wonderful, welcoming and well-stocked home. Our family of 9 adults loved it. Great spot to easily walk to anywhere in Bar Harbor - which we did for 4 days in a row.
Good communication with the owner made it easy. Two car parking limit was a bit of a pinch but we found a creative way to park a third car off site. Highly recommended to any large group

Our family of 9 spent 10 fun days in this spacious, clean, and comfortable home. It is in an ideal location, so that we were able to walk or take the Island Explorer to most attractions, museums, restaurants and trail heads. On the one rainy day, there were plenty of games, books and puzzles on the shelves to keep us entertained.
The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well appointed. The air conditioning kept us cool. The laundry room was convenient. We enjoyed barbecuing on the patio. It was a wonderful stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our well long stay in Bar Harbor. This beautiful home was fantastic! Very conveniently located downtown. You can walk to just about everything. Less than 10 minute drive to Acadia.
Will definitely stay there again when we return!

We have stayed in many VRBOs across the US. This was the best experience we have ever had. To a person in our group of 8, we wished we had stayed in the home our entire trip even if it meant not seeing other areas of the region. The host was generous with special touches, lovely artwork, fully appointed kitchen and room to gather and find privacy. Absolutely perfect!

Kay’s house is absolutely stunning. The decorating from the antiques to being mixed with fun fabrics and colors throughout the house. Very special place! Kay was excellent at communicating and even gave us some history on the house because we were so interested learning about their home. 5 minute walk to everything and short drive to the park!

Great location… in Bar Harbor and very close to Acadia. House is large and accommodating. Great front porch for sitting outside and relaxing. Owner/manager very available and responsive to questions. We would repeat.

Beautiful property, perfect location, no detail was overlooked. I would HIGHLY recommend this home for larger groups. Walkable to downtown, off-street parking, outdoor space, plenty of baths, really perfect.

Overall experience was fantastic. Only issue was hot weather and no air conditioning in bedrooms. The second and third floors were VERY hot!!

Perfect for a large family gathering
We rented 3 houses in Bar Harbor and the hosts of this one were by far the most responsive. The house has multiple common areas, perfect for a large gathering. The outdoor areas are a bonus-front porch and patio. The third floor bedroom and bath are quite compact and may not suit large adults.

Perfect place for a friends' getaway
Overall, this property was a perfect place for a getaway for six 70-year old friends. The location was in a quiet area that was within walking distance of the center of Bar Harbor. We needed a house that would allow each of us to have our own bed and sufficient bathrooms, a kitchen where we could have a continental breakfast and drinks and appetizers, and a comfortable place to sit and talk. We also wanted a place where we could walk to shop and dine. This house met all of our requirements and was beautiful with unique features and character. The host provided all the necessary utensils, kitchen tools, appliances, linens, towels, and toiletries for our purposes.
The owner was responsive to our questions and issues about the house.
The only suggestions that we had are that there be more signage as to where to find the controls for the lights in the house.
Thank you for providing a place for us to celebrate after our 50th college reunion!

Beautiful historic home in downtown Bar Harbor
Your home was the perfect spot to base our visit to MDI. We were a 3 minute walk from downtown shops and a 5 minute drive from the gates of Acadia. Loved the indoor/outdoor spaces to congregate with the family. Our hosts went above and beyond to make the stay comfortable for us. Would absolutely stay again!

Wonderful Family Get Together
We had a lovely stay at this beautiful home. The home itself is gorgeous--full of character and interesting design details. It is well stocked with books (especially for the kids!) and cooking supplies, and is very conveniently located. We had a few small issues pop up (where to park a third car, a small plumbing issue, and locking ourselves out), all of which Kay handled quickly and courteously. We would be lucky to stay here again.

Family-friendly home in a perfect location.
Eight of our family spent a week in this wonderful home. There was plenty of room for us to spread out and read, play games, and watch a movie. One thing I especially appreciated was that there were plenty of household supplies, towels, dishes, and silverware.
The host was very responsive and provided excellent information regarding the property.
The location was perfect: it was a five minute walk to downtown Bar Harbor.
My 11-year-old grandson was taken with the age of the home, built in 1904. Both grandchildren loved the old tub in the bathroom they used.
This is a great home for any family visiting Bar Harbor.

A Nice Property In A Great Location
Communication was stellar. The property is as I expected. We appreciated that we were close to the downtown area. The only disadvantage was the people in the house to our right. They were screaming and cussing for quite a while. This was disappointing with small children who could hear.

The perfect place to stay in Bar Harbor!
Where do I start? The prettiest street in all of Bar Harbor. A great location that’s walkable to everything including the grocery store, shops, restaurants and the land bridge to Bar Island. A spacious lovely home, beautifully furnished with comfortable beds and linens and plenty of fluffy towels. A well stocked kitchen with … wait for it, sharp knives!! A delightful morning room as well as other indoor and outdoor dining spaces. Plenty of hot water for our large group (7 adults and 2 children). Three adults working remotely without any trouble connecting to wifi or cell service and a host who was quickly responsive to any questions or requests. Our family has traveled extensively along the east coast as well as Europe and this was by far our favorite home using VRBO. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. We love Acadia and we loved this home. Thank you Kay.

Fabulous accommodations and hosts!
My family and I had the most wonderful few days in Bar Harbor celebrating my 30th birthday. The location of the house is fantastic, with a short drive to the entrance to the park and walkable to the shops and restaurants for the less enthusiastic hikers :)
The house maintains such an original charm but has all the comforts you would want or need. The beds are so comfortable and there is space to sit as a group or spread out to separate activities if that’s what your group prefers.
My family is already talking about how we can’t wait to return!!

We enjoyed our stay in Bar Harbor. The house has plenty of room for six adults and Kay provided a crib and high chair for our 9 month old. Very accommodating owners. Thank you!

A quirky old wonderful house!
We recently stayed here in Bar Harbor. The house was very old but had all the amenities we needed. We were a group of 10 people and there was plenty of room. The location was excellent - an easy walk to the downtown area and the shore walk. We would not hesitate to return to this house!

Perfect!
This house could not have been more perfect for 9 high school friends celebrating our 60th birthdays! It is beautiful and spacious and had everything that we could possibly need. We appreciated the pantry essentials and LOVED the porch where we spent all our free time. The location is perfect - on a quiet street, but easy walking distance to everything the town has to offer. Kay and Augustine were very responsive. We could not imagine a better choice for our Bar Harbor stay!

Excellent place for family vacation
We rented Kay and Augusto's historic home for our recent family vacation. Kay met us at the property and showed us around the house. She was absolutely delightful to meet. We had 10 family members stay for the week, and the home had more than enough room for us to be comfortable. Everyone had plenty of space to stretch out.
One of our family members loves to cook, and found everything he needed in the kitchen. The most important feature may have been the coffee pot and the Keurig, both of which got lots of use!
The house is situated in a great location in Bar Harbor, You are within walking distance of many eateries, bars, shopping, and the waterfront. Also, the Hannaford's grocery store is only a couple of blocks away, which makes stocking the kitchen easy.
Each bedroom had sufficient linens and there were plenty of towels for each of the four bathrooms. The washer and dryer on the third floor made laundry a breeze.
The one feature of the house that we absolutely loved was the outdoor space. The courtyard is a fabulous place to hang out, eat, have drinks, etc. We ate most of our dinners in the courtyard. One warning: Bar Harbor's noise ordinance states no loud outdoor activity after 9pm. We were a bit boisterous one evening, and a neighbor kindly informed us about the ordinance, so we made sure to be quiet after 9pm!
One other item to note: the house does not have air conditioning. Naturally, this is not an issue for the vast majority of the year. We happened to arrive during a hot spell, with temperatures in the high 80's for a couple of days. While there are fans in every bedroom, it remained warm at night. Fortunately for us it cooled down and was beautiful after the first few days, so no A/C was not a big deal, it is just a head's up if you are traveling at a time where it may be hot and you have people who struggle with heat in your party.
Another great feature was the access to Acadia National Park and the free Island bus system. We did a lot of hiking in the park, and members in the group who wanted to go to other locations on the island used the bus with great success.
One other note: for those who need WiFi access, it works really well. We had a large number of devices connected with no issues.
I would recommend Kay and Augusto's for any family on a getaway. The house is well appointed with everything you need, and comfortable for large groups. It certainly made our stay in Bar Harbor better!

Perfect house in perfect location
Beautiful home in easy walking distance to all of Bar Harbor. Our vacation was perfect and we couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay.

Our family vacation at Kay and Augusto's lovely home was just perfect. We give it 5 stars.
When I first rented our VRBO home, I was not sure of what to expect. The gallery pictures were nice but yet I was not sure. Sometimes these photos can tend to make the home look better than it actually is. So needless to say, I was so delightfully surprised when we entered that spacious foyer of Augusto and Kay's charming home. From the lovely porch with its wicker furniture and rocking chairs to the bedroom on the third level, the house fit our needs for 11 adults and was more than I expected. The rooms were large with high ceilings and their was plenty of space to spread out. We enjoyed breakfast in the bright breakfast room and dinners around the large parson table in the dinning room.
We particularly appreciated a well stocked kitchen and the grill outside since most of our meals were prepared and enjoyed in the house. My grandchildren, ages 14 to 21,
were impressed with the uniqueness of an older house with its design and character.
Augusto and Kay have truly created a welcoming home away from home.
Another plus feature of the home was the location. We were all happy to be so close to the park, attractions, restaurants, and shopping all within walking distance. Using the bus to go to and from the park was an added pleasure. Kay and Augusto had provided excellent instructions to familiarized us with the home and any needs we may have during our stay. We also enjoyed reading about their family and their home.
Our week in Bar Harbor was most enjoyable. Our family created memories hiking, biking, kayaking, watching the sunrise on Cadillac Mountain, being together, and so much more. Thank you Augusto and Kay and VRBO for a delightful and memorable vacation.
