Castle Hill House is accessed by a private drive and set in an elevated position above the historic village of Sidbury, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This distinguished and imposing country house is set in delightful gardens within 4-acre private grounds and enjoys superb uninterrupted 270 degree views of the countryside and the valley down to Sidmouth and out to sea. There is a tennis court which is playable, just a little rough in places. Castle Hill House has been decorated and furnished to a very good standard and is perfect for a family holiday or a group of friends to get together.
The house is situated 3 miles from the World Heritage Jurassic Coastline town of Sidmouth, that nestles beneath majestic red cliffs and the green hills of the glorious Sid Valley. Sidmouth, with it’s beautiful gardens and leisurely walks, Regency history, clean sandy and pebble beaches, great restaurants and friendly shops, is also renowned for it’s annual International Folk Festival held in August. Villages of exceptional beauty lie on the doorstep: Beer, with its amazing pebble beach and caves, Branscombe perfect for mackerel fishing or the town of Seaton, with its historic tramway and exhibitions. Take a trip to the Donkey Sanctuary, visit the stunning gardens at Bicton, or for a great family day out, there is Crealy Adventure Park or Pecorama with it’s miniature railway. For the very adventurous, visit Haldon Hill and try zip wires through the trees at Go Ape, or take your bike and go cycling off road on the many countryside trails that there are on offer. Exeter and Newton Abbot racecourses are also close by. Horse riding, cycling and water sports are all available locally, or just sit and relax in your own castle on the hill. Beach 3 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
