About this house rental
Step right up, step right up! Welcome to the grand, the unique, the unparalleled experience of Milwaukee's Upper East Side! Not another AKAI showplace. Filled with QUALITY furnishings, art, music and games.
Picture this: a Victorian masterpiece, where the exquisite woodworking was produced by another unsung artisan. It's the cherry on top of the architectural sundae, the final polish on the silver spoon of luxury living. The house would challenge the ultimate hide-and-seek champion, with more nooks and crannies than a master magician's hat!
Four fireplaces! And those 10' ceilings? They're not just tall, they're NBA draft tall.
Now, let's mosey on into to the first floor, where the kitchen is so large, you could host a dance-off between chefs. The parlor entryway? It's got a grand staircase that's just begging for a dramatic entrance....many wedding parties use it for photos. And the den, living room, dining room, and full bath are just waiting for your life's sitcom to unfold.
Ascend to the second floor, where the bedrooms are so spacious, you could play hide and seek and not be found for days. The windows are so large, even the sun needs sunglasses. Many guests love how comfortable they are.
The third floor's got character with a capital 'C'—from futons that have seen more sleepovers than a teen movie to the 7 dormers that give the place more angles than a geometry textbook.
Don't forget the basement, now with a brand spanking new bathroom and a rec room that's got more games than an arcade. Bedroom 9 is the newest edition-fit with a queen (bed that is!)
The front yard's so picturesque, Norman Rockwell's ghost might just come by to paint it. And that circular porch? It's the international station for relaxation—coffee, tea, wine, beer, or mystery beverage, all are welcome.
The backyard's got a patio that's ready for your culinary masterpieces, and a maple tree that's just begging for a rope swing.
You're a stone's throw away from everything—Newberry Blvd, Lake Michigan (Bradford beach), Lake Park (golf, tennis, hiking, biking, baseball, frisbee), Downer Ave, and enough coffee shops to keep you caffeinated for a millennium. (Maybe Downer Ave should be renamed...Upper Ave??)
This isn't just a house; it's a slice of history, a piece of the pie that is Milwaukee's crème de la crème neighborhoods. ONE OF THE TOP FIVE NEIGHBORHOODS ON AMERICA:S HISTORIC REGISTER!!!
So, if you're looking to tie the knot, gather the clan, visit a festival, have a guys or gals weekend or just kick it with pals, this is the HOTSPOT. But act fast, because like the best slice of pizza at the party, it's going fast, and you don't want to be left with the box.
MILWAUKEE-MILWAUKEE-SMALLWAUKEE!!!
If you're looking to explore Milwaukee's Upper East Side, prepare for an adventure that's as rich in culture as it is in cheese curds! Start your day with a caffeine kick from one of the local coffee shops, where the beans are as freshly roasted as the morning gossip. Then, why not take a stroll through the Milwaukee Art Museum, where the art is modern, but the ability to understand it is timeless? If you're feeling the need for speed (and history), rev up your engines at the Harley-Davidson Museum, where you'll find more leather than at a cowboy convention.
For those who prefer the stage to the open road, the Miramar Theatre awaits with its eclectic mix of shows – it's like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get, but it's always a sweet surprise. And if you're in the mood to create your own masterpiece, Snapshot 414 offers paint and pottery classes where the only limit is your imagination (and perhaps your artistic ability).
As the sun sets, the East Side's culinary scene lights up. From dive bars where the beer flows like the Milwaukee River to upscale eateries where the dress code requires more than just your favorite sports jersey, there's a flavor for every palate. And let's not forget about Brady Street, where the vibe is as vibrant as a neon sign and the food is as diverse as the city itself.
But wait, there's more! If you're a bookworm, Boswell Book Co. is your literary haven, offering a quiet escape and a chance to bump elbows with fellow readers. And for the fashion-forward, Bandit MKE is the go-to for sustainable style that won't break the bank – or the planet.
So, whether you're a history buff, art aficionado, foodie, or just looking to soak in the local charm, Milwaukee's Upper East Side has a little something for everyone. Just remember to pack your sense of humor alongside your walking shoes – you'll need both to fully enjoy the quirky, quaint, and quintessentially Milwaukee experiences that await! 🧀🎨📚🍻

The rental was the most cost-effective option for adults who all wanted their own room and at least a queen-sized bed for a vacation in Milwaukee. The house is easy to get to and from, with some shops within walking distance. Just don't miss the 3rd-floor AC controls like we did.
The beds are clean, lots of towels were provided. kitchen equipment is your standard random assortment and heavily scratched nonstick pans. we did make one meal using the kitchen so it wasn't impossible.
While we were there, only one shower had hot water and worked, but we survived.
It's an old home being used as a rental, it's not perfect, but there were worse options that cost more.
all in all, I would recommend it.

Great property located in a beautiful part of town. Host was very responsive and helpful. Will be staying here again!

We loved this home. It was great and the neighborhood was beautiful and not far from downtown!

Perfect for a long weekend with a lot of people. House has incredible history and character and is in a gorgeous neighborhood close to parks and beach. Host was easy going and responsive.

A very nice, beautiful, unique house. Old property so understandably there are some issues with natural wear and tear of a domicile, but you can tell work has been put in to update and made the house pleasant to stay in. It is in a nice neighborhood and a good location for traveling around Milwaukee with nearby access to major roads. The owner was very nice and easy to speak with. Our entire group of 7 guys had plenty of individual space in the house with the many rooms, and the AC added to the 3rd floor helped a lot during the heat wave we experienced.

Easy checkin. Great communication with the host. Property is in a wonderful neighborhood!

While the house is roomy, and historic, able to accommodate a large number of people, it has significant maintenance issues. Second floor shower/tub was turned off by cut off valves that could only be turned by entering an adjacent bathroom. While the host communicated when asked that this was because it needs a new mixer and he ordered a new one but the one that was delivered was wrong for that tub and he had a new one on order. Still, it was a big inconvenience. The basement shower water temperature was tepid at best, and if you turned the handle to the hottest level it actually got ice cold. To get barely lukewarm water, you had to position about 3/4 of the way toward the hottest setting. None of this was communicated to us. With 7 people staying in the house, the shower situation was not satisfactory. The house also has a very lived in feel, with clothes hanging in closets.

We absolutely loved the house; the fireplaces, the little nooks & crannies, the woodwork, the pocket doors. It was fun enough just walking around and experiencing such a great space. The bedrooms were all super spacious and the beds comfortable. Not to mention the kitchen and rec room basement which were super functional. This house was the perfect place to hang with some friends and we made a lot of memories in the house. The neighborhood is also beautiful and you’re just a quick walk from Lake Park and Lake Michigan. Loved it!

Our Family (Grand Parents, Parents, and Adult Children, (82-26 years old) stayed here for a weekend to attend a Cousin's wedding at the nearby Hubbard Lodge. It was a perfect location and gathering place. We loved the home and there was plenty of sleeping space, enough bathrooms, and a great kitchen! I would highly reccommend for a group.

Great communication and flexibility by owner. It had everything we needed to celebrate 80th bday. Definitely recommend for your next family gathering!!

We loved this house! There was so much room for our extended family to hang out, with a variety of spaces, games and activities. It’s an old house, but the appliances and bathrooms are all very modern. We used the game room in the basement, the instruments in the front room, the game table by the stairs, and spent a lot of time in the kitchen. The bedrooms were spacious and bright, and the beds were comfortable. (Note: there are four levels, with uncarpeted stairs among them so if you have toddlers or anyone with mobility issues keep that in mind.) We were able to walk to Café Hollander the first night, about a ½ mile away. We also used the kitchen and the grill on the patio to make a large dinner for the family on another night. The property manager was super-responsive. We would highly recommend this charming home to anyone looking for a great group getaway!

Our extended family gathered in this home for an old-fashioned Christmas. There was plenty of room for everyone. The house was charming and well-equipped. The neighborhood was nice and within walking distance to the lake.

We were in Milwaukee for my nephew's wedding. This property worked wonderful for our family. In addition to the wedding we went to the zoo, a Brewers game and checked out the Harley museum. This property was centrally located to all the activities we went to. We would definitely stay here again. This house had everything we needed. Plenty of space inside, very nice bedrooms, a well stocked kitchen and a backyard we used for a family cookout.

This home was an awesome setting for our daughter to get ready for her wedding day. We had her and the bridesmaids spend the night before the wedding together in this beautiful and HUGE home. It provided the perfect place for all getting ready together and amazing photos in this Victorian home. Keith was very easy to work with and very helpful throughout the process, including prior access to the property during the wedding prep time. Highly recommend this stunning home for a special occasion!

Great for the weekend we had planned...large, classic feel, super functional, and relaxed.

Stayed with family and didn’t nearly fill this large home. All of the sleeping areas are truly set up well - 8 bedrooms with one or more beds gave tremendous options for us. The kitchen is updated nicely and there are both kitchen and dining room spaces for meals, then an additional space in the central area for dining or games, etc. The two sitting areas on the main floor were cozy for gathering.
The setting is such a historic and well-maintained neighborhood and surrounding community - it was great to have that overall setting. Our stay was in January and I can imagine the warm months are really pleasant with a nice outdoor space behind the house.
Parking was good as we fit three vehicles in the driveway and could have added at least one more.
We’d definitely stay again!

This house is a treasure as the owner has filled each space with interesting memorabilia . It’s a short 2 block walk to the lake. We have a large family and everyone had a nice space and bed to enjoy. The owner responded quickly to some minor plumbing issues. This place is perfect for large families!

Our entire (Big) Family went to Milwaukie for my son’s wedding. Keith was the BEST! His 8-bedroom Victorian home was the perfect solution to getting everyone under one roof. The home was warm and inviting, and we enjoyed the backyard BBQ setup. My only suggestion would be to remedy the second-floor RR/ shower controls. Other than that minor issue, we all had a BLAST! Keith was extremely accommodating a great communicator, and a nice guy

We stayed at this house during the weekend of our son's wedding at the Urban Ecology Center. This house provided a perfect "Base Camp" for out of state family. The evening before the wedding we had a really nice BBQ in the backyard and hung out. It was a great way to start the weekend. The morning of the wedding many of us went to the little golf course nearby to get some exercise. My brother and his 4-year-old son went to the playground and my sister, and her kids went and watched a beach volleyball tournament - all within walking distance. The venue was also a nice walk away.
The house worked out well since it has so many bedrooms and allowed everyone some privacy. The neighborhood is beautiful and quiet. The only potential drawback to note is that the bathrooms are very "vintage" and there are only 3 of them for such a large house. But this is a very old house so that's not a huge surprise. We're not big primpers and everyone was going through to get ready for the wedding at different times so it was a non-issue for us but it might be for someone else.
Big thumbs up!!!

Wedding weekend
After 2+ years my siblings and I were finally able to send a long weekend together to celebrate my son’s wedding. This house was everything we needed. Plenty of room for our families and a patio out back where we spent the majority of our time together. The house was clean and the owner, Keith, was easy to work with. Some things to note: The driveway is tight between the house and fence, but there is plenty of parking on the street for those who do not like to back out of a tight area. The house is old, which is part of its charm, so be prepared for creaking steps and floorboards, squeaky door hinges and tight fitting doors that need some effort to close, as well as small, efficient bathrooms. This is definitely a place to make memories! We loved it all!

Easy stay in good location
Our group was an extended family. We had a comfortable stay in the house. Location is easy and close to most Milwaukee locations. Plenty of space in the house and modern updates added creature comforts while still in a Victorian home. Lots of parking for driveway and street and well stocked for a large group (tons of towels, cups, etc). There is no bathroom on the third floor and the stairs were creaky-loud for the sleeping baby so keep those things in mind when choosing rooms. An excellent stay!
