Enough beds and bathrooms for our group. Surprised that sheets were provided at the end of the beds but we had to make the beds. Fire pit was a nice feature that everyone enjoyed. The house is a bit run down - in need of some paint, the windows were dirty, and the upholstery on livingroom furniture was grungy. A few small improvements would go a long way.

We stayed here over 20 years ago when it had been renovated to become a B and B to celebrate a 50 wedding anniversary (my wife's aunt and uncle).
While this week we had a good time with family, it is obvious that this premises is very out dated and requires attention to the interior amenities. Exterior maintenance is non existent. This potentially lovely property is no more than average. Its strengths are its location and the ability to accommodate large numbers of guests.

our family had a wonderful week the house we stayed at was very quaint, we enjoyed the stay. We were able to buy lobsters right off the boat. Just a wonderful week

Wonderful spot to visit with our family of 20! Certainly has a rustic/ historic vibe, but has all the essentials. Amazing view of the water and in a nice quiet spot. Very relaxing and would come again

Our group of 11 (ages 4 to 80's). bed/bath is different that listed. One lower suite is no longer available. This eliminates the double queen bedroom and bath. There is an additional bedroom on the main level but no connected bath. Thus 3 bedroom suites with bath, one full bath upstairs for 4 bedrooms and 1 bedroom main level and a common area 1/2 bath. Stairs to upper level bedrooms very steep. Home fairly clean but lower suite bedroom with bath did have ants. Garbage by garage was overflowing when we arrived. It was picked up Thursday. Propane for grill ran out after one use. Hot water supply is very limited. The traffic for the pier across the street seems to shift with the tides so there were nights the trucks came between 11 pm and 4 am. The house had lots of space for people to spread out, kitchen is well stocked. all towels, sheets, beach towels, small shampoo containers, laundry soap and trash bags were provided. Each room had fans which was nice.
There were left over spices from previous guests. You can purchase lobster directly from the dock across the street or across the harbor. Wallace's market and Jameson restaurant are both convenient with reasonable prices. You will are pretty rural so most sights are 45 minutes + away. Wifi is there but not fast. Monitor email for last minute email with security code: this changed from a previous letter so we were locked out at first.

The house while old was okay, however not kept clean and felt we were getting the run around from Shawn about getting things cleaned. The kitchen was filthy when we arrived with crumbs, greasy stove, cobwebs and dried liquids in the fridge. There was popcorn all over the floor under dining table, and family room. You could tell it hadn't been swept. Toothpaste in bathroom sinks. Also the power went out for 2 days in two of the bathrooms and was never resolved by the “cleaning person". The outside of the house had no sidewalks to get to the house and was dangerous for the older guests to come and go. That being said we did enjoy the location as it was near the inlet and the kids enjoyed scavenging for shells.

Although it is an older house and the room configuration is odd, the flexibility for our group of 10 adults and four children under the age of 5 was great! The neighborhood is more longterm residents, so it didn't have a touristy feel. We were able to watch fishing boats coming and going from the cabin and we were close enough to the water to make several daily trips on foot. Within a mile, there is a wonderful "has everything" market and a seafood restaurant. It would be hard to find a better place for the price and the location!

We had a fabulous time in Friendship. There was more than enough room for 13 adults and one toddler. Everyone had their own space. The stairs to the top floor were steep but not a problem. Laura is awesome to work with!

We were a group of 4 families with small children that stayed at the Ocean gables over the July 4th vacation. We faced following issue during our stay
- First of the property is not in a great shape and surely doesn’t justify kind of asking price per night. Some of the rooms and really crampy and staircases are too steep and starting giving away is certain places.
- There is a no AC and the property had very less fans and most of them were broken. We had to rush a Walmart 30 mins away to buy new fans to make it through the night
- Grill had empty propane tank even though landlady had suggested otherwise. This lead to a second trip to Wal-Mart and we lost almost 2 hours back and forth causing a lot of inconvenience of the day we arrived.
- Window sills had dust and dead insects for ages. Most of the windows malfunction
- Some of the beds were broken . This was immense displeasure.
- Above all property is infested by mice and insects. Especially in the kitchen area.
I surely will not recommend this proprty

This house was the right size for our large family vacation. The location and view was amazing. Laura was easy to work with and she was very accommodating. But this house needs a lot of work. We understand it is an old Maine house. The house is very well stocked with pots/pans, dishes, and linens. When we needed more towels we had them within 24 hours.
It would have been nice to have dressers and hangers in the closets. Living out of a suitcase for 8 days, was difficult. Each bathroom needs a bath mat. Stepping onto a wet floor was dangerous. Not all bathrooms had trash cans. There were broken windows. When you arrive, bring toilet paper- there is not one roll in the house. The ceilings are in bad shape and mold is visible. The septic system is very sensitive. (Just be aware) You have to go up and down the very steep stairs to the second floor. Small children and the elderly shouldn’t stay on this floor.
This house was exactly what we needed for such a large party and we loved Friendship, Maine. We had a great time! I just wish I could have read more reviews before booking.
