We would be delighted to have you stay at Casa del Cielo y Sol.
Nestled in the beautiful and lush Tesuque Valley this classic adobe home is a perfect retreat where attention has been paid to all the details for a memorable visit. The spacious house is situated in the foothills of the Sangre de Christo mountains with a view to the Jemez Mountains. The lovely grounds feature fruit trees and lilac bushes. Enter through the Mexican gates to a private haven with Zen inspired gardens and beautiful views for a relaxing sojourn.
The open concept living space includes a large living room, furnished in comfortable Western style with leather sofas, easy chairs, art work, native rugs, a wood-burning fireplace and plenty of firewood, and big screen smart TV. This room invites solitary relaxation, conversation, and festive entertaining. Enjoy board games and cards at an oak table in the adjoining sun room. Or, if you must do a little work or want to connect with friends, there is WIFI.
In a separate area, set off by a rustic wooden column and beams with hand carved detail, is a heavy wooden dining table, surrounded with wood and leather chairs, seating eight to ten people friendly in front of a bank of full-length windows. They provide an airy, sun dappled space by day, a romantic vista of twinkling lights by night.
Cooks will love the kitchen with appliances, 5 burner stove, big stainless steel sink, and fabulous views from the large centerpiece window of the Jemez Mountains to the west. Situated so that the cooks can easily interact with family and friends in the living and dining areas, the kitchen also has an unobstructed view to the television for glimpses of a favorite show or movie while preparing dinner. Counter seating provides a perfect spot for chatting with the chef or enjoying an early morning cup of coffee, tea or cocoa.
The cabinets are stocked by people who love cooking with All-Clad, Calphalon and Le Creuset cookware and every small appliance and utensil imaginable. You’ll find plenty of dishes and serving pieces, mugs and bowls and glasses of all types -- including a large stock of stem ware for wine -- and Southwestern-style hammered stainless steel flatware. There is a diverse selection of cookbooks to inspire you, complete with high-altitude cooking tips.
A bright sun room features French doors that open to a redwood deck with native latillas above. There you’ll be drawn to watch splendid evening sunsets or enjoy a meal al fresco at a wrought iron table in a beautiful landscaped garden area a few steps away on a flagstone patio. Beyond the patio, a path leads to a private hot tub and deck with another table and chairs. Beyond that deck, take a hike up the hill on the path to look out to the mountains. Have a drink, a little something to eat, relax and enjoy the view to the open sky and the surrounding hills and trees. Through french doors off the dining room step onto a charming stone patio with a hand set stone wall, beautifully landscaped for a peaceful morning retreat or quiet evening with gentle lighting under a starry sky.
On the main level is a bedroom with bath that can be closed off for privacy. It is furnished with twin beds that can be converted into a comfortable King bed using the same system found at many spas, including Canyon Ranch. The room features a ceiling fan, large windows and ample closet space. The bath which is accessed through the hall and not the bedroom, has a tub and a shower.
A few steps down from the main level is the private master suite with a King bed. A Mexican armoire holds a Smart TV. Two traditional Havana rockers with hand caning set off the room. French doors open to beautiful gardens and a fountain to softly lull you. Marble tiles make the master bath a serene place to enjoy the large walk-in shower with spa bench. The vanity has two sinks, ample drawer space and an expansive mirror.
Upstairs are two additional bedrooms which share a charming bathroom with wrought iron details, a Mexican tin mirror and Talavera tiling. These bedrooms have ceiling fans and are also served by an evaporative cooling system (air conditioning common in Southwest dry conditions) which effectively cools the house. Each upstairs bedroom has French doors through which to step out onto a large deck, a perfect place for sunning, watching evening sunsets or enjoying the antics of hummingbirds vying for nectar from the feeders and numerous bird species providing entertainment for all ages.
The smoke-free house, accessed through an electronically operated gate and a winding driveway, is off Bishop's Lodge Road. A carport offers shelter for your vehicles. Hard to believe you’re only a short, lovely drive from Santa Fe’s famous Plaza.
Tesuque Village Market - the local grocery and dining place - is just two miles from the house. Keep an eye out for low-key celebrities here while picking up fresh produce, pastries, take-out and wine for dinner or just stop by for lunch. El Nido, just beyond Tesuque Village Market is one of Santa Fe's most desirable restaurants and bar. Nearby is the Santa Fe Ski Basin which is perfect for great skiing. The marvelous town of Taos, with its highly rated ski slopes, is only an hour away.

We spent the month of August at this amazing home. If I could have rated it above 5 on cleanliness, location, etc, I would have done so.
The kitchen, bedrooms, baths had everything that was needed for our stay. And all rooms were immaculate.
We rent in different locations every August and this is the first time that we did not need to purchase anything to make our stay more comfortable.
Every evening we loved sitting on the front patio watching sunsets, the numerous birds, and various wildlife.
We were not ready to leave. But we will be back!

This was the best VRBO stay we have ever had and Holly and Will are extraordinary hosts! The house is spotless, charmingly decorated, and just a short drive to the heart of Santa Fe. We hope to return someday soon!

What a wonderful property! Close to town but far enough away for peace and quiet. Wonderful and communicative owners who had a fully stocked home with everything we needed. Look forward to visiting again.

Our family of 7 had such a good time at this home! There was lots of space to spread out and lots of space for everyone to gather to talk, eat and play games. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen (equipped better than my own with plenty of spices, glasses/plates/silverware, etc.), grilling, using the hot tub, and enjoyed a fire in the fireplace. A great location just minutes away from the Santa Fe Plaza, and very close to Ski Santa Fe, where we spent our days. So many more things that we could have done if we had more time! Would HIGHLY recommend this home! Communication with the owners was effortless and smooth. Not sure if I’ll ever have a more positive experience with a VRBO as I had with this one. Would give it 10 stars if it allowed me to!!

My extended family returned to this wonderful place for Thanksgiving 2023 after a 4 year hiatus due to the pandemic. Prior to that we had made this our Thanksgiving tradition for 4 years. It was so great to be back and the house was just as we remembered it. Our gracious host made sure everything was perfect. We plan on coming back for Thanksgiving 2024. It’s a truly beautiful place to enjoy Santa Fe.

Our experience in this lovely home was delightful. The hillside position above Tesuque village gave us privacy with beautiful views yet easy access to Santa Fe. We loved the kitchen, the gathering areas, the bird life and wonderful bedrooms. All around, an elegant, welcoming house.

The kitchen is fabulous - everything from a Chemex to biscuit cutter to excellent sharp knives so if you like to cook you’ll love it. Comfortable beds, linens. Spend the day in Santa Fe or hike the trails nearby and relax in hot tub watch the sunset.. we enjoyed it and would definitely stay again.

Wonderful sanctuary
The pictures do not do justice to just how beautiful this property is. The layout of the house is perfect to accommodate groups of night owls and early risers. The full kitchen has any appliance or accoutrement for all your meals. It is beautifully decorated inside and out. And let's not forget the hot tub! We used it everyday and watched as the sun set beautifully over the mountains. This place was ideal for a family get-together. 5 stars!

Perfect Santa Fe Getaway
This house is gorgeous and has everything you want and plenty of space. It was hard to leave the house but nearby there is also so much to do. Shopping downtown and museums, hiking and sightseeing are all just minutes away, but the house is tucked away for a feeling of privacy and safety. We took an afternoon to visit wineries and got back just in time for a gorgeous sunset on the front patio. Spent the evenings gazing at the stars from the hot tub. Just perfect! We are already talking about our next stay!

Christmas 2021
What a wonderful stay in Santa Fe. Holly went above and beyond with her communication and trying to coordinate a surprise Christmas tree.
The house was perfect location, 10 mins from the city center, 35 mins to skiing, and 15 mins to the four seasons incase you want to get a fancy massage! The nice thing about this house is that it was fully stocked with things you would need: toiletpaper, detergent, trash bags, wood, and plenty of towels too! The hot tub was heated and wonderful at night. Birds galore which the grandparents enjoyed! A memorable Christmas 2021.

Fabulous Reunion Retreat
If I could give a 6 star rating, I would! This house is absolutely beautiful and spacious, and it also was supplied for everything we might need! Holly, the owner, was friendly and communicative with thorough directions needed to access everything! My 5 college friends and I came for a mini reunion after not seeing each other in years. We had a hard time deciding whether to go out and experience Santa Fe or stay in the comfort and tranquility of this home. I highly recommend and I hope to be back someday!

Summer Getaway in a Beautiful Home
This property is an outstanding home that is located close to the Santa Fe Plaza area, yet on a mountainside location with a beautiful view of the Jemez mountains. The home is spacious, very comfortably furnished, decorated with beautiful artwork, and has a generously supplied gourmet kitchen. It even has air conditioning for those rare hot afternoons. This home contains everything you could possibly want to make your visit memorable. The surrounding gardens and hot tub add to the restful experience. The owners are friendly and do everything they can to respond to your needs and to ensure that you have an outstanding experience. Our family of 7 including grandparents, parents, and children had a lovely experience in this home and will definitely come back again.

Santa Fe Gem
This property only added to the beauty of Santa Fe. It's location was perfect for the places to see and eat in historic Santa Fe but was also ideal for the day trip to National Parks and Monuments and to Taos and Albuquerque. Our family also enjoys making meals at home and this kitchen was perfect. Perfect in size, perfect in appliances and perfect in kitchen necessities for cooking and eating. Everyone had their own bed and the rooms and bathrooms were large and well appointed. Holly was easy to communicate with and replied promptly to any questions we had. We hope to one day return to this property and enjoy more of New Mexico.

Amazing hideaway
We stayed here with our family in April 2021. It was all that it was described to me. The house is perfectly appointed and very comfortable for a family. The bedrooms have wonderful linens, the bathrooms have everything you need, and the kitchen is a dream in a rental property! Everything you need is here. It is a little drive into Santa Fe, but worth it. We cooked in the kitchen a few nights during our stay so we could enjoy the hot tub and star gazing. It is incredibly quiet at the house! Very peaceful--after the last year of Covid, this was the perfect place to get away with our adult kids. Thoroughly enjoyed everything! Holly was the perfect hostess and communicated everything we needed to know. 110% recommend this place to stay if you're in Santa Fe.

Wonderful home and cozy, cozy, cozy!
This was a superb home to watch the snow fall in the time of COVID 2021. Our "COVID family" (four of us), were able to have a great time on Canyon Road and getting take out from El Farol. We dined in at The Shed and Tomasina's. All the Galleries were open, but the museums were not. Massages at 10,000 Waves were not available, but their cafe was open for fresh vegetarian options. Also, we were so incredibly cozy in the completely well organized and well-stocked home, we are indoors for a record winter storm and knew we were safe, well take care of, and in contact with the owner without any problems. Holly and Will are just very caring hosts and you can tell how much they love this home and being caretakers for VRBO. They have everything ready for emergencies (guy with a snow plow, no generator, but lots of wood for the fireplace), snow shovels and salt were all out and ready for us to use, if needed. Loved the "tricked out" kichen too. Perfect for family getaways and reunions.

This property is beautiful and well maintained. Our group loves to cook, and there was plenty of cookware and a plethora of dishes and glassware to accommodate our group! Firewood was provided and it was beautiful to watch the sun set over the mountains. We had a small snafu with the fireplace (tip: the wood provided is extremely hard and you need to use small logs to keep it from burning itself out and smoking up the living room) and Holly was immediately available to help us figure out our issue. The owners are extremely informative and went above the expectation to make sure our visit was enjoyable. We would love to plan return visit to the house and be able to hit the ski slopes next time!

This house was exactly as described by many others. Private, great views, exceptionally well maintained and felt authentic to the area. Lots of space with an outdoor area that wraps around the house with many outdoor seating areas. High end kitchen. We did not need anything but owner was easily reachable and checked in to make sure we were good. Would definitely stay again.

Wonderful home just outside Santa Fe
This was the best home we have ever stayed in. The four bedrooms all had comfortable beds. The three bathrooms had more towels than we could ever need. The kitchen was fully stocked. The dining and living rooms had enough chairs for all of us. The setting was as beautiful as advertised. And the owner, Holly, was a joy to work with, responding quickly to all of our questions.

Beautiful Santa Fe Retreat..We loved it!
We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this beautiful home! We had everything we needed and couldn't have asked for a more attentive and responsive homeowner (Holly) and local caretaker (Meg). We had clear and precise directions and instructions and any questions we had were answered expediently. We even ended up staying an extra night at a discounted rate! Everything in the home was top-notch and well-taken care of. We cooked several meals in the well-appointed kitchen (and ate out too) and enjoyed all the beauty that this home and Santa Fe have to offer! My husband and daughters went skiing and loved the hot tub after their days on the slopes. We ate dinner in town several times and visited Meow Wolf, as well. Our daughters loved it! We adore Santa Fe and have been traveling there for years, since our honeymoon over 18 years ago. This home is now definitely one of our favorites...I'm sure it is lovely in every season, so we hope to return soon! Thank you so much, Holly and Will, for sharing your fantastic home with us! We had a wonderful, relaxing Spring Break! --The Burton Family (Midland, TX)

Amazing Holiday Vacation in Tesuque!
Our family truly enjoyed this past Holiday Vacation in Tesuque! We rented this home due to location and amenities. Let me say we were not disappointed. I believe we all said “Wow” upon entering the home for the first time. This home is incredibly comfortable, relaxing, and spacious. The attention to detail in and around this home is truly unbelievable and is evident from its art work to the home furnishings and family game selections. Also, the kitchen is fully equipped and made preparing family meals fun and easy. The bonus was the amazing views each morning as dawn broke over the snow-covered mountains tops and finished the day with tranquil quite nights as the sun set.
The owners are easy to deal with and more than happy to answer any questions and provide any help that you may need. This was truly evident in their check-in and check-out process. It was easy and efficient.
Overall, this home made our holiday Ski trip, especially the hot tub after our first two days of skiing!
We are looking forward to renting this home again soon!

Another Wonderful Stay In Tesuque
This was our second Thanksgiving in a row at Holly & Will's beautiful house! It is wonderful and we hope to come back for future Thanksgivings. The house is beautifully appointed with wonderful art and decorative touches. The kitchen is a dream to cook in - fully stocked with all the cookware and appliances you need. Holly provides you with extensive instructions for enjoying the house. We had a fire going almost every night and used the hot tub several times. The views are amazing . We had 8 people and 3 dogs and never felt crowded - it is truly a dream house. You will never want to leave!

Property is beautiful and truly represents the Southwest flavour of the area.
There were eight of us sharing this lovely home and everyone felt that they had aneough space. The great room area is wonderful for gatherings. The kitchen is so well stocked and therefore made meal preparations easy as our great cooks had everything they needed, just like at their own home.
The location is great. An easy drive into Santa Fe, Tesuque and to the main highway if travelling to other areas of NM.
Check in and check out is easy and efficient.
The owner is easy to deal with and more than happy to answer any questions and provide any help that you may need.
Overall, this is a wonderful rental home and we look forward to returning.

Fantastic in every respect
This is our second stay in this home. The last time was 7 years ago and it is even better the second time. The description is right on the money. EVERYTHING you need is here. Your hardest decision will be whether to leave the house or not, it's just that comfortable in every respect.
We have done several VRBO's over the years and this owner is absolutely the best to work with. We are already planning our return trip.

BEYOND. Beyond beautiful, comfortable, luxurious!
This was a return trip for a group comprised of family and friends. We all look forward to our trips to Santa Fe and this amazing property for many reasons. The comfort and luxury of the property's indoors and outdoors are unparalleled. The furnishings, kitchen provisions, bed linens and towels are all top notch. I am so impressed with how the owners continuously maintain but also upgrade features in the home. It's fun to come back every year and see what's new! Both the property owner and the property manager are incredibly responsive and delights to work with. We look forward to our next trip back to this paradise.
A few specific favorite parts of this home: we enjoyed both the large dining room table and the outdoor porch dining area for all meals and also game playing. Everyone was impressed with the quality of the beds, pillows, and sheets, making for wonderful nights' sleep. the back stone patio, tucked into the hill, was perfect for morning coffee. The full supply of household items including paper towels, napkins, trash bags, laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, even a full array of spices was highly convenient and very much appreciated.
