Not worth £73!

Not alot if I'm honest. It wasn't what I was expecting

Broken in half lamp. Very cramped. Door does not lock completely from the inside. 2 hotels 500 yards from each other. Out of date UHT milk by 7 months. Desk in front in wardrobe. Poorly painted. Dirty stained bedding. Heater behind desk. Couldn't turn it down. Too hot. Broken plug sock. Dangerous.

Location.

Though budget still too expensive for what it was. Though it was obvious a lot if effort had been made with cleaning, bathroom was in dire need if ripping out. Toilet had to be flushed by tipping water down. Dirty mats on floor and towel pushed into corner where shower leaking. Exterior of property very tired. WiFi did not work. 'Kitchen'was a fridge we could not plug in due to noise it made and kettle had to be plugged in by an extension lead over the bed. It would fail to meet the standard of a DSS or bail hostel. We may have just got a bad room of course.

The only acceptable thing is the location.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at this guest house and I must say that it was an absolute disappointment from start to finish. Despite desperately needing a place for my family to stay for my graduation, I regretfully booked this hotel. It was evident that no proper cleaning had been done in ages. It was an uncomfortable and unhygienic environment, to say the least. It is my sincere hope that this review serves as a wake-up call for the management of Amazon Guest. Guests deserve better treatment, especially when paying for a service that falls far short of expectations. (170£ for 3 people and two nights!!) I strongly urge the hotel to prioritize hygiene, provide accurate representations of their rooms, and rectify these issues immediately.

It was dirty, drawers were full of stuff from the people stayed before, very outdated property not maintained at all, tv was taped with bracket and didn’t work. There was too much furniture with very little space in the room. The price was not justified in this case

Passable, but shame about the poor dog.

It was cheap, and clean enough, ...

...but a bit shabby overall, and I was rather saddened by the dog outside in the small yard who seemed to be left alone all the time, whining to be let in, taken for a walk, or just to have company.

this is worst guest house ever in oxford . i mean the boss kindda racisn .. i see me as timorese . he straigth away give

when i arrive in there .. the owner send me to another building . which is really bad . i need to walk 6-7 minutes to get there .. then he give me small room and no bathroom inside , so i need to pay more 50 pounds to moving to other room .. and the room is so messs .. pizza insite .. and dush everyhere .. and to noise ...

It's name isn't Amazon it is Anthena. It was dirty and smelt of dog There was a dog which kept barking and had been shut in a small room. It was expensive and I wouldn't go again. It is nothing like the pictures

Superb

Cleanliness A*. Prompt and efficient reception. Comfy beds. Good variety for hot drinks in the room. Didn’t have a breakfast so can’t make comment there. Overall a pleasant stay. Only saw one member of staff but he was polite and helpful.

Location a little tricky and confusing. Booked at ‘Amazon Guest House’ but the sign says “Athena Guest House”…. If it wasn’t for the house number we’d never have found it. But… you can’t see the house number from the road. And you are on a main, busy road.

There were lots of windows in our room, even though none of them had been cleaned for a very long time and I had to wash my hands after I opened them, they all had matching curtains. The net were frayed at the edges, they didn't block much sunlight, but at least the curtains matched.

Although this is a cheap night stay. It really is just that. In this day, amoung a pandemic, I expect nothing less than good hygiene standards. This place had very poor hygiene standards, the floors were clean, the bedding was clean, but everything else just wasn't up to standard. We had the family room with en-suit. When we checked in we had to park the car at the next door neighbours house because there were no spaces left. Both the hotel driveway and the neighbours had a very off putting odour. When we went inside we could see into the kitchen from the reception, it was very cluttered with dirty cooking instruments. Our room was very cluttered with lots of unnecessary furniture, like a dining table. The bathroom was at a standard of a half decent public toilet. The windows and window sills had not been cleaned in years. We had 2 TV's a dvd player and 2 sky boxes. Not one of them worked. If they took them out it would at least remove the dirtiest remote controls I've ever seen. Our room also came equipt with a fridge, which like the TV's did not work. We had 3 bed side tables, all very sticky and dusty, each with a lamp. Only one lamp had an available plug socket. Which we still did not use as we needed the socket to charge our phones. There was a lot in this room considering most of it doesn't work or there is no need for it. The most disturbing part of the visit was finding a KFC wrapper covering the smoke alarm. If all of that wasn't enough to give you dysentery the water filter jug that came with the room was as old as my children with some large partials floating around just to confirm you should not consume anything while on site. During the early hours of the morning from about 5am, I could hear what sounded like a broken washing machine or tumble dry going around. It was still going when we left at 8:45am. The rest of my family told me to rate this 1 out of 10. However for the price I wasn't expecting anything fancy.
