I thought the staff were great especially Milly
The owner was quite rude

Comfortable beds
Kitchen staff very friendly
No bacon available for breakfast.
The room was not as clean as my house or other hotels.
Curtains attached by threads.
Shower with little pressure.

Opened door to room, and it was like a suite - walk-in robe and huge bathroom!!
Beautiful setting and lovely breakfast.
Thought it was odd not to have tea/coffee with breakfast!

Location
Very tatty. Breakfast not till 8:30 and so not able to have it.
3.0
Great location, good breakfast and excellent restaurant
Rooms can do with an update, but given the price, good value for money

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was fantastic.
Rooms just need a little updating.

Very quiet once the pub below our room was closed.
The staff gave breakfast to our non-resident son for free while we waited for the tea/coffee that never came!! (Nice compensation!)
Full "English" breakfast had mrm chicken sausages and turkey rashers!! (I didn't like them even though it was all cooked well)
Room service didn't speak any English.
No tea or coffee at first breakfast and ran out of orange juice! We watched most guests walk away upset due to no tea or coffee with their breakfast!
Toilet leaked whilst refilling post flush..had to put the waste bin (the lid of which was covered with a thick layer of dust) under the drip to prevent flooding.
Extraction fan came on with bathroom light and was noisy and barely running freely. (Couldn't be isolated/switched off)
Toilet roll nearly always fell off its holder because of the way it was positioned!
Squeaky door to bathroom was a bit annoying during the night!
Only one bedside light!
No power socket accessible unless you were sleeping on the extreme left of the left bed!
All this for £103.50 per couple per night B&B!
2.5
Room was dated but clean. Didn't have breakfast as we had to leave before it was available. Bathroom was again dated. Shower was awful - desperately needs to be updated - we had a bath the second night, which was great, but the shower was pitiful. Food in the restaurant was good.
When we came in the second day and went to go upstairs to our room, the staff - who had checked us in the night we arrived - didn't recognise us and questioned where we were going???!!
3.5
The bed, the suitcase rack, the shower gel dispenser fixed to the shower wall and the breakfast
The bathroom sink was almost completely blocked and the bathroom bin hadn’t been emptied.

not a lot
tatty, tired and uncared for

Breakfast was very good, staff were very helpful and price was correct for the room + breakfast incl.
Lovely location.
Alisha was super!
Room + bathroom needing updating, no light in bathroom and shower control hard to turn.
4.5
This was excellent value for money. A spacious twin room - actually a double and a single - for myself and a friend. The large walk-in shower was unexpected. The breakfast was generous too. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was superb. Altogether a positive experience.

Hot power shower, full breakfast , proximity to river
Cold shower in brother's room

the staff were friendly and the food was good, especially the curries we had
quite dated, the wallpaper on the ceiling of the bathroom was peeling off and it was a bit grubby on the floor by the windows. also very thin walls we could hear the guest in the next room on her phone word for word, even heard the other person on the phone as well.
5.0
very well situated, beautiful surroundings and staff were amazing
does need a little TLC but see past that and I’m sure you will enjoy your stay
3.5
loved the healthy breakfast
a couple touches up could be done in the property eg sink blocked in bathroom
2.5
Cheap and cheerful. Fairly dated, aged. Shower wasn't working, but was moved with no quibble.
General decor was tired, holes in walls been badly filled, fairly unclean.

The hotel is conveniently located 20-30 minutes walk to town, which was great. Saves the stress of traffic, and expensive parking in town for the day. Lots of parking spaces for the car, no street parking required.
The photos of the room is not an accurate depiction of the room. The rooms size was good but:
- the chair broke the moment I placed my hand bag on it, may have caused serious injury if I had sat on it as the entire arm and leg collapsed.
- the sofa was missing a corner leg and stained.
- the carpet was worn beyond use and stained.
- Lack of hot water after 5 mins running the shower. As I was about to complain, I bumped into the neighboring room and asked if they had hot water issues. They said they complained about the same thing that very morning and were told it was just their room. Made the complaint and the staff member just said it was working and to keep running the water. Luke warm water eventfully arrived.
- Lack of shower pressure.
- Lack of heating. I suspect the hotel don't turn on heating during the day and only turn it on later in the evening. It was 6pm and we finally asked them to turn on the heating for the rooms.
- At night the main room light intermittently flashes.

Nothing.
It is so in need of modernizing.
Basically it was “grubby”

Location good. Food good. Staff polite. Room comfortable and warm.
Rooms dated and overall the building, although presented well externally is a little lack lustre. A fresh paint, light switches beside the bed, bedside lamps on pedestals adjacent to the bed, an overall freshening up would really elevate the experience
1.5
Location was good and bed was reasonably comfortable. Staff were polite.
State of decor was dreadful... Wall paper hanging off the walls, dripping wet and moulding windows, curtains tied onto the rails with bits of string, blinds that were half the size of the windows.
And we had to ask for a light bulb to be fitted in the bathroom, when we arrived, so we could see in the dark!
I pointed out that we hadn't booked this room, we had booked one with a large bath in the room, but was told they can only put a photo of one room on Booking.com
