Brilliant first stop on our honeymoon.

Accessibility to the local amenities was great. Right at the heart of the V&A waterfront. The valet parking was excellent and very safe. Food in the restaurant was great value for money and very tasty. Staff all very friendly.

The swimming pool and gym not on site. Have to go to sister hotel.

Idyllic boutique hotel in an unreal setting.

Everything! The room size, the room view, the room decor were all superb. Breakfast was incredible and the service was superb.

There was a lot of knocking on the door in the mornings to see if we had gone out and they could clean or fill up mini bar etc. perhaps a ‘do not disturb’ sign may be a good idea !

Very good stay if you want to be on the Waterfront. Excellent views and delicious breakfast.

The location, friendly staff and very good breakfast.

Some of the rooms needs maintenance. Our toilet seat was broken. The mattress was very soft so we had sore backs.

the tv didn't work, room was very noisy , got twins beds after i booked king size bed, the phone in room also didn't work to order room service. definitely not worth the price.

Surprisingly excellent!

Great location and the restaurant, Ginja, was excellent. Staff universally helpful and friendly - especially the gentleman who succeeded in making a dinner reservation for me at the Harbour House. The garden and pool at the sister hotel, the Dockhouse, really are only a stone’s throw away and beautifully peaceful.

I found the room decor very dark and heavy: deep red chairs, dark brown curtains, dark brown faux-leather headboard, black furniture…. I would love to see the light and blues of the location reflected in the colour scheme. Or maybe it’s meant to look like a Victorian gentlemen’s club.

Very good stay, it made our holiday very special

Very good selection of food at breakfast, kind and efficient service, food all very well cooked and presented. Kind and helpful staff on reception, an excellent location and we hope to have the opportunity to stay at the Victoria and Alfred again in the future.

A few more hangers for clothes in the wardrobe would have been useful.

Wonderful hotel, location, and staff. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Capetown !

A delightful hotel. So many try hard to be perfect or better than they are. The V&A is just a very classy hotel. I've stayed before and never been less than satisfied with my stay. Everyone I know who has stayed there says the same. The staff are supremely professional and welcoming, and always attentive.

wish we could have stayed longer 🤣

we loved everything about this place. The staff was extremely helpful and polite. It is right on the waterfront in the middle of it all. there is a taxi stand right out front and Uber is super easy to use as well. thank you for a wonderful stay!

stunning location, bedrooms need updating

the location was incredible in the heart of the waterfront. watched the seals from our room

old fashioned decor, ( although bathroom was lovely) lack of lighting in bedroom, cost of rooms ( appreciate it was NYE) but still very expensive

Poorly managed - multiple requests for payment directly after booking. multiple requests even after it was paid. my mobile phone number was handed out to tourists agency (Data protection breach) & late check out was confirmed twice but on last day was suddenly not acknowledged. would not stay here again

it was a treat to be alongside the bustle of the waterfront.

loved sitting out on the waterfront, food was excellent, public spaces were very comfortable and enticing

We didn’t want to stay.

We stayed several times at V&A. And it was always fine, located at the waterfront.

The whole area around and inside the hotel is under construction. Noise and dust everywhere. They‘d better close it. Prices have gone up a lot. Obviously new owners.

Great location, lovely room, will return.

Easy online booking process, great location and surprisingly quiet with the construction taking place right now. I was able to leave my bags in a secure lock up to explore the waterfront prior to check in.

I left a brand new shirt still in the shopping bag, with tags and all in the wardrobe. Housekeeping alleged they didn't see it.
