Price point was good
If you don’t know Rotorua, you should double check when the Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve is right behind the hotel. The Sulfur smell from these thermal pool seeps through into the hotel. We were meant to stay two nights, we only used one night’s accommodation as the smell was not manageable. Similarly, the cleanliness of the rooms, in particular the bathroom was not up to scratch. There were pubic hairs in the bathtub and mould in the aeration fan.

The pool was lovely and great to have a stepping machine in the gym. Dinner from A la carte menu also great and a really good scheme where if you don't need the cleaners you get $10 to spend per day.
Was there for a wedding, buffet dinner $69 per head which I didn't think was value for money.

The pool and spa was great. The dinner buffet was nice as well.
the tv facility could have had a better connection. We did get another room though.

The beds were comfortable and the pool was really warm.
I’ve stayed here multiple times and have always loved everything. Unfortunately not this time. Room service was ridiculously expensive and dishes cost up to $6 more each than at the restaurant. Takeaway isn’t allowed so we went out. The breakfast was average at best when considering offerings at other comparable places. The bacon, for example, was cooked in big clumps, just thrown in rather than the rashers separated and cooked properly. Also not a great selection of fruit. Our room was poorly serviced; beds so badly made they had to be redone. The room wasn’t vacuumed and pjs left on the bed were thrown onto the table in a pile. To their credit, The front desk was very apologetic and offered to move us but it was too much hassle. My room, which was an upgrade overlooked the roof. The standard has dropped significantly since 2021 when I last stayed here. For the price, my stay was a disappointment.

Great location in Rotorua, not far from the town. Spacious, clean and pleasant room and bathroom. Comfy bed. Nice staff. Handy that they had laundry facilities. Pool and hot tubs looked great although we didn’t actually get chance to use them.
Seems to be a very family friendly place to stay - pool and hot tubs were heaving with kids the entire time we were there. Not a problem per se, but maybe choose somewhere else if you don’t like kids! Could have just been because it was school holidays though.

Breakfast & the front Reception team members were good.
Rooms didn't meet expectations.
Drinking water facility was not good.
2.0 / 10.0
Good location.
Buffet breakfast was good.
Probably good variety of kids indoor activities if you're stuck in bad weather but we didn't use it.
Pool which was super busy.
Standard room was not in an acceptable state.
Everything old, outdated, bed springs were noisy, carpet worn out. Highlight was the bathtub which I wouldn't use for a bath even if someone paid..so old, yellow, rusty... Dreading taking a shower there. Not sure how I would describe the room ceiling at enterance (see pic) but it maybe health n safety issue. Could see spider webs, panels uneven and some almost coming off. Oh and there were just 2 sachets each of sugar, tea, coffee n creamer!! TV was basic, not smart TV.
Well we complained and were told that unfortunately we got the old Standard room and apparently the renovated ones were better but they were all booked out so they couldn't move us.
Personally for me the trip was ruined as I was looking forward to chilling in room while rest of family was out n abt. I have never wanted to get out of a place faster!
Would like to give credit to Manager who offered full refund if we'd like to go elsewhere. It was school holidays and most places were booked out amd rest too $$$ so we didn't have much choice. Don't feel this was a fair option to offer at a busy time to a family with young kids.
Anyhow count your luck if you're booking a Standard room I suppose. Maybe they should mention which type of Standard room is being advertised so people can make an informed decision. At $480 for 2 nights booked abt 3 months in advance this wasn't a cheapy booking.
Oh & they would take off last pic of Standard room off booking.com as it wasn't of the actual room!!

Great room with amazing views over the Rotorua thermal sites. Plenty of parking. The pool/hot tub was nice at the end of a long day exploring.

Having a restaurant on site was handy, with the buffet breakfast being a huge draw card
Stinks of Sulfur and eggs because it’s so close to the geothermal park. With the aircons unable to keep the smell out properly. The first room we were given stunk so much we felt sick. With mould in the room too. But then got upgraded to a different room and it felt like we had walked into a totally different motel.

Amazing staff, special mention to Paula from the restaurant who made my birthday very special! A very comfortable stay for families. We loved the pool, spa and games room. Overall very comfortable with great service.
The scrambled eggs at the breakfast buffet could be improved, perhaps offer some other egg options as well such as boiled eggs. It would be nice if fresh milk was provided in the rooms.

It is a bit outside of the town centre so it was nice and quiet. The hot pool at the hotel is definitely a huge attraction for the kids (and adults too)!
Delicious breakfast, nice seafood buffet dinner - great!

I liked the room. It was perfect for a 1 night stay. Great having a guest laundry. Managed to dry out our clothes.
I didn’t like the tv. Mainly cause I couldn’t work it out properly to cast my phone to it. So the kids had to watch a random movie on the channels we could access.

Great hotel for families. My kids absolutely loved the heated pool.
The Play Room was advertised so well but we were underwhelmed when we got there. There's a weird "locker room" smell when you step in, it just doesn't feel clean so we left right away.
