Fabulous home. It provided us the opportunity to build community, engage with each other in a meaningful way.

We got married in Santa Fe and used this as our home base for our wedding party/family/friends. The location was perfect - close enough to town, but private enough to avoid holiday traffic. A beautiful home complete with everything we needed. The only negative was that the prettiest master bedroom did not have an attached bath and was right off the kitchen, which can get noisy. Otherwise, it was ideal for our group.

This house was unreal! Somehow the photos do not do the property and rooms justice. Everything was bigger and better than expected!
The neighborhood is just a quick drive into Santa Fe proper, and our group had no trouble requesting Uber/Lyft for going out at night. When we weren't exploring town, we posted up in the gigantic living room or outside on the terrace with beautiful views of the mountains (plus lots of rainbows at sunset).
The house was also stocked with everything our group needed- ample cooking equipment, a huge selection of spices, full coffee setup, tons of glassware and plasticware, etc.
I would absolutely recommend this house to anyone and stay here again!

We had a family reunion in Santa Fe and this house provided the perfect space to spend with all of our loved ones. Amazing views and lots of different places to hang out both outside and in.
This house is also stocked to the brim with everything you could possibly imagine!
The hosts were very communicative and and answered quickly to all the questions we had

I wish I lived in this house. It was clean, beautiful, and easily accessible. John and Paige are impeccable hosts - they let us check in early, were very responsive and kind, and even went so far as to ship me a package that my friend had sent me that wound up in a place we didn't see. I cannot recommend this property and these hosts highly enough. Thank you, John and Paige!

Ideal place for the get-together of five old guys who went to high school together. Both interior and exterior spaces well-suited to conversation.

Do you and your group a favor and book this place! Our group of 13 fit so comfortably in this house. The number of bathrooms was incredible, as well as all the entertaining spaces. Everyone was raving about the decor, architecture, and interior design. We had no complaints about this spot, it was truly one of a kind!

We loved our stay here! I would not hesitate to book again.
We were a family of 10 including my 87-year-old mother who uses a walker full-time.
The house is beautifully appointed and had everything that we needed. It was a gorgeous setting and we had the local photographer Robin Parrott come take family photos while we were here.
We had reservations most nights, but we ended up canceling them so that we could stay in the house and cook and just hang out. We love the outdoor fireplace and the views.
The beds were comfy, and everybody had enough room, and bathrooms. The kitchen and bar were both well appointed with plenty of dishes, glassware, and appliances. We never heard a neighbor, and it felt very private.
It was an easy 10 minute drive to downtown.
Great communication with both the owner, and the property manager. The power went out in the neighborhood very briefly during a short thunderstorms, and our property manager was very responsive to questions. Power was back on quickly and it was not an issue.
A beautiful home - don’t hesitate to book it!

This home was wonderful from the moment we stepped in! 10 out of 10 accommodations! We were a group of 10 celebrating our birthdays and the house was perfect for our get together. The outdoor patio, the living room and kitchen table provided great places for us to visit with each other. The living areas and bedrooms are very spacious! The kitchen has everything you need and is incredibly organized! The casita is very close to the home and provided us the opportunity to spread out even more! David, the property manager, was most helpful and responded very quickly to any questions we had. Would highly recommend this property!

The house fit our needs beautifully. The dining table was used by all age groups for eating, coloring, puzzles and games. The kitchen is the most well equipped kitchen we have been in. The fenced yard was great for the kids to run around without us worrying about them. The view is beautiful. We used almost all the fireplaces including on the back porch.
The location was so convenient, both for going into Santa Fe and for visiting pueblos.
Thank you for opening your house to us.

Our extended family stayed 3 nights in this lovely home. Everything you could want is provided with games, nice patio and a kitchen perfect for meal preparation. While I always plan meals ahead so I can bring spices the kitchen did have all the spices that I would use.
This is a beautiful home, it is close enough to downtown to allow for easy access without all the issues of staying downtown. It allowed our family to have a home away from home instead of staying in separate hotel rooms.
FYI, starting and ending times are firm so do not expect to get in early or leave late unless you arrange this well in advance. If you are on a tight leave schedule you will have to allow time to strip beds, take out trash and clean out all food you brought. These details are similar for most luxury rental homes, but if you have not rented this type of home you might not know about it until you receive the leave instructions and FAQs.
Also, similar to many VRBO rentals you do not receive all the detailed information about the house until right before you rent so if you will be traveling around rural New Mexico with limited wifi and/or limited time to review the details that might be an issue.
The owners have a great deal of information to help you take advantage of the area and they were very fast to reply to all questions. They were also very accommodating about altering the reservation dates when asked several months ahead.
We would be delighted to stay in this home again.

Our family of 11 (8 adults and 3 kids ages 6-11) stayed 5 nights at the High Desert Hacienda. The home was spacious and welcoming. There was plenty of room for us to spread out or gather together at one table for meals. Any time we had a question Paige was quick to respond. The location was such that driving to the Plaza area was just a few minutes away. Without hesitation I would highly recommend this home!

Our family that included our grown children and young grandchildren recently stayed in this beautiful home. The kitchen is well appointed and the living room is spacious. But our favorite part, hands down, is the back patio. It was our go-to gathering spot morning, noon, and night! Great overall location too!

We had a wonderful family reunion in this home, 14 of us ranging from age 6 to 79 for a week. The house was very nicely decorated, comfortable, ad very clean. It had great communal spaces, a well-equipped kitchen, spacious bedrooms, plenty of bathrooms, and a large dining room table (seating for 12, with room for two folding chairs). We loved the back patio and spent a lot of time there hanging out together. A couple of minor issues were handled very quickly by the host’s responsive and friendly property manager. The neighborhood was very quiet, and we appreciated being so close to downtown (2-3 miles). We highly recommend this property.

We have been vacationing as a family…Grannie and Gramps, 4 grown children and spouses and 7 grandchildren, youngest now 14….for over 15 years. This year 14 of us made it and 2 others came for a long weekend! High Desert in Santa Fe was perfect! We highly recommend it!

This house is only a few miles from the square in Santa Fe. It was so convenient to all of our activities but also felt like a luxury, secluded retreat. We enjoyed the cool evenings on the patio and our dinners in the lovely dining room. Thank you for a wonderful getaway celebrating my mom’s 70th birthday!

This home tucked into the hills just minutes from downtown Santa Fe was the perfect home for our family trip. It comfortably accommodated all of us (11 adults and two kids under 10) and included so many thoughtful details, from a kitchen fully stocked with just about every tool and appliance you could think of to a great selection of books. The views from the master bedroom and kitchen were unbeatable. Highly recommend this place for any large group.

We had THE BEST stay at the High Desert Hacienda! Plenty of space to have some alone time and recharge and then tons of communal areas to soak up time as a group. We couldn’t have asked for a better house to stay in. It was charming, gorgeous, and ideally placed. If you’re looking for a place to stay with a large group, look no further - THIS IS IT!

We had a friends reunion and everyone loved the space. There was so much to do and ample room for everyone. It was a very unique stay and close to town!

The owners were extremely cooperative on everything. The home included all materials one could possibly need. The views were beautiful. Our only regret is that we did not stay long enough to appreciate all that Santa Fe and the home have to offer. One cannot go wrong in renting this property. Ideal!

We stayed at Vista Encantada for 4 nights to celebrate my Mom's 85 birthday and the house is wonderful!
The kitchen is very well appointed and made cooking dinners for a large group really fun, with room for lots of helpers and more than enough of everything, including pots/pans/glasses/plates, etc. There are even some sharp knives, which is rare in a rental.
The dining table and outside patio table are perfect for large groups and created wonderful places for some or all of our family to gather and visit.
The beds are very comfortable and the house is quiet for little nappers.
The only oddity of the house is the bedroom/bathroom layout. There are 3 bedrooms downstairs but only 1 1/2 bathrooms. The other bathroom is upstairs and on the other side of the house. It wasn't a big deal at all, just strange and a bit awkward for one the couple who used that bathroom.
The casita is adorable and was perfect for the family with the 6 month old baby.
The close proximity to town made it easy for everyone to do their own thing during the day, with each of us coming and going as desired.
The owners are very easy to communicate with and addressed all of our questions quickly.
We really appreciated the privacy of the house also. Even though it's in a developed area, it felt very secluded. (And there is plenty of parking!)
We would highly recommend this beautiful home and would readily stay here again!
Thank you for making our celebration even better than we had hoped!

Our family enjoyed a wonderful stay at this spacious and lovely home!! The owners seem to have thought of everything all ages would love; a beautifully appointed house; multiple fireplaces; large kitchen complete with a window and view of the mountains; great comfortable patio (although we didn’t get to sit outside much due to cooler temperatures); extra large TV; separate casita for our teenage grandson; and both shuffleboard and football tables. It was a very special and memorable stay for our 50th wedding anniversary. Everyone loved it!!

We had a multi generational family gathering at the house over a long weekend and it was just amazing. The house itself is wonderful - endless spaces for people to gather in small groups and pairs and sit and talk. The fireplaces are great, and all the small touches made it so comfortable. Bedrooms and bathrooms are great and we had two people in the casita, which has privacy and comfort. We had no problem getting to the house or up the driveway even when it snowed, and the views were lovely. It’s also so easy to dash into downtown for a meal or shopping or coffee. Overall, just a perfect setting.

Incredible home. Beautifully decorated and well equipped with all the essentials needed for our trip. Very comfortable beds, high end linens, and each room offered a different charm. The steam shower bathroom and the shuffle board was a big hit on our trip. The fireplaces were also a nice feature for our winter trip. The property manager was very responsive.
