A very pleasant stay and would love to return.

Very friendly and approachable staff, lovely warm and inviting atmosphere. Food was delicious.

Heating pipes knocking periodically through the night (earbuds helped drown this out and get a good nights sleep). Because I had earbuds as I’m a light sleeper anyway and noises keep me awake, this wasn’t an issue for me.

Wonderful stay

Everything. The location is suoerb and the surrounding countryside is beautiful. The staff from check in to all the way through my too brief stay were exceptional. It's a wonderful, welcoming and comfortable Inn. I would highly recommed Bower House Inn to anybody. I will definitely return at some point.

Always an enjoyable stay at the Bower House and perfectly positioned for walking and the railway.

The staff service in the bar, for dinner and for breakfast was excellent and friendly. The menu gave us plenty of good choices of tasty food for our two nights' stay. The bedroom Wasdale was very comfortable.

The weather was very warm so the the fan was essential for comfortable sleeping.

Nice location room on the small side

Friendly staff and the breakfast was good room alot smaller than I was expecting but clean and tidy, bed was comfy.

Wedding celebration going on at the same time as our stay, congratulations to the happy couple. As you can expect the party was noisy and our room was right in front of the celebrations. It would have been nice to be forewarned at time of booking that a party was on that weekend.

Very friendly staff. Comfortable beds. Lovely setting and quiet. Good breakfast.

Very small room and flat pillows. There seemed to be a lack of care for the place - drab room with no pictures, dripping taps, bathroom door didn't close, inconvenient electrical sockets so kettle had to be boiled on the floor. Biscuits not replaced for our second night. No fruit salad at breakfast.

Excellent location, Excellent food, staff very helpful and food served quickly. Prices of food and drink were very fair. Room very clean, easy check in, beautiful views, would recommend

Only one negative unfortunately, the shower in our room was little more than a dribble, no pressure, shower head needed a good clean out as wasn't spraying properly. Didn't ruin our trip but others may have been annoyed by this

Lovely oldie worldie b&b, very quirky, very welcoming staff and located perfectly for walking with the dog.

The bed felt very comfortable initially, when in the Centre of the bed. Either side of the Centre it felt as if the bed was tilted and as a result we both had a poor nights sleep.

Superb

It is near to some of my favourite parts of The Lakes. The menu has been simplified from the previous restaurant menu to a great choice of good quality pub grub, which is affordable and what I look for. The rooms are equipped with the things I want and need, without being excessive in cost. I love staying here.

There isn't anything for me to write here. This is exactly the place I look for, if I want some home comforts, when I go hiking.

3rd stay, this time with a huge hound, there was nothing the staff could do more to make us all feel welcome.

Superb location, fantastic friendly staff, stunning food & this time we took our dog which we were worried about. He was welcomed & given sausage at breakfast & hock ham at dinner time. Fantastic

The hotel staff food were excellent the only complaint if u can call it that was the wifi we had to go to reception to get connected but if I'm being honest it wasnt that much hassle

Break in the lakes.

The staff were friendly, the location was great, prices were reasonable the hotel was clean and catered for dogs in all parts of the hotel.

I would say there is nothing to dislike and I would recommend the Bower House Inn.

Part of the fabric of the Lake District.

My second stay here and it was what I expected, that being a brilliant place to stay, this building goes back to the 17th century so it has loads of historic charm, ok they don't behead people anymore or burn witches like we used to do all those centuries ago when it was built instead they offer a warm inviting place to stay with great food, drink and staff in an excellent location. This inn fits in why you come to the Lakes, I look forward to staying again.
