Very convenient location.
Rooms are small with stair access only. Some of the front desk staff could use a bit more training.

Lovely property with comfy beds and nice selection for breakfast. Lots of stairs to climb and parking is hit or miss. Reception was very helpful and friendly.

The place is nice and clean. Cheaper than other hotels. I stayed there to sleep and it was comfy. 4days passed by so fast. I will definitely recommend Cairn to my friends. :)

L'emplacement est top, proche du centre à pied et proche de l'arrêt de tram qui dessert l'aéroport. L'accueil très sympathique,on nous à même préparé un petit déjeuner à emporter lorsque nous avions une excursion tôt le matin.

The breakfast was lovely and plentiful a great variety of continental and cooked food. The hotel was very clean and really quiet at night. The beds were extremely comfortable. The room was equipped with everything we needed. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Nothing. We really enjoyed our stay at Cairn hotel

Great location. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean apartments.
The apartment we stayed in was spotless and the beds were very comfortable. Up several flights of (spiral) stairs though, and no lift. Not a problem for us, and we were aware beforehand, however. Could have done with a comfortable chair or two in the seating area.

We were there for a specific reason as I had to be at a meeting next morning and it was located handy for that. Also for a theatre, OMNI centre which has food places and a cinema.
Our room was across the street which had not been explained to us when booking. I have a mobility problem which flares up badly at times and when I asked the receptionist if there was a lift she simply told me - these are old buildings. I took that as a NO and I was correct. Never mind I should have checked. The room was advertised as a "small double bed" which was OK. But, what wasn`t explained was the fact that the double bed wasn`t small - rather there was only a few inches between the bed and the wall at the foot so it meant one had to squeeze/slither past the end of the bed to reach the loo. The loo was "different" inasmuch as sitting on the loo meant your head was actually over the sink. It was tiny. The shower was great apart from black mould on the grout on the lower line of tiles. There was a loose tile inside the door. However, to be fair, the loo area was otherwise pristine.

The location was excellent and within walking distance to many attractions such as Edinburgh Castle and Bontanic Gardens. It had tons of restaurants nearby, which was great. The room was across the street from the reception and breakfast area in a lovely building and was very quiet. The reception staff were nice. There is a heated towel rail which was convenient when I wanted to wash out my delicates. The bed was comfortable and the shower was great! The breakfast was good, a few hot dishes to choose from, juices, toast etc. and although I didn't ask whether they had gluten free bread, there was gluten free cereal so that was good. The only thing that would have made it more pleasant would be if the staff greeted you with a hello and smile (although they did keep everything tidy and stocked).
The hotel room was a little small i.e. the door hit the bed on the way in, but since it was really only a place to lay our heads after touring, it didn't worry us too much. The bathroom however was VERY small, e.g. the wash basin pretty much takes up half the doorway and you almost have to sit side saddle on the toilet which is not pleasant.

Very clean and modern
The power outlets didn't work apart from the bathroom one. Problem wasn't fixed during my stay, fortunately I had a powerbank with me.

The location was perfect, 15 minutes walk from the train station.
The staff was very helpful.
The breakfast was not particularly tasty (scrambled eggs, sausages, and not very tasty).
I found the price to be quite high for a single bed small room.
I had to pay extra to leave my bags at the reception.
It was quite cold in the room.

The reception staff were so receptive, very welcoming and accommodating. The wait staff were pleasant.
Not a complaint as such but because the room was so compact it got very stuffy at night. A small observation on a very pleasant stay over all.

Location and price
Shampoo/body wash was very watered down.
Toilet so low to ground, felt like I was back in junior school.
More teabags in room as I had to keep asking at reception, but they had no problem in giving them out.
