I had room 60 and it was lovely, nice big room with a big smart TV and bath. All the staff were lovely.
Originally I was in a “hideaway” room which had big glass doors so you were completely overlooked and had to just pull the blinds down for privacy, making the room dark. It also didn’t have a bath and the TV was tiny and didn’t work at all.
The breakfast has gone down hill - there isn’t a great range for the continental breakfast (they used to have lovely apple pastries which I miss!), no yoghurts or muffins. I ordered poached eggs on toast and the toast was black burnt, and the eggs very vinegary (I should have learnt my lesson as this was the case last time but I hoped that was a one off!)

The location is good, it is a steep incline up to the building, the gardens are suitable for giving dogs a quick walk. The room was clean and bathroom had a great shower.
We have stayed at the venue a couple of times before the refurbishment, this was our first visit since the changes. The issues were at the main building and with the catering and bar service. They ran out of food at dinner, 5 or 6 items including chips… breakfast service was poor on the first day, it took 45 mins to receive the food, on both days, items missing with an hour to go of service including fresh fruit, yogurt and pastries. We had to ask and wait for fruit juice and bread for the toaster. Monday afternoon and evening were extremely quiet, yet at breakfast on Tuesday there was signs of tables being dirty.

Nice big quiet room with a bath!
The window needs to open more...but it still opened so I was happy.

Staff were really friendly and couldn’t do enough. Breakfast felt premium for what is usually expected when breakfast is included with room.
Honestly being slightly picky, having Netflix or prime etc in the room would’ve been nice

Beautiful and spotless room in an old stone building. Peaceful and enjoyable place for holiday.

the property was really good, decent rooms some with lake view also. it was a little tired but understand that a refurbishment is imminent. the best thing about the place were the people. Jade could not have done enough, from moving us to a better room with a view on arrival, to making us breakfast when we turned up late and even lending us a room for a shower to be able to extend our stay beyond check out. Jade made this stay go from good to fantastic
unfortunately the weather was really bad so we missed not having a bar or restaurant and the sister restaurant for dining was a little further away as the journey was flooded. this is circumstantial however and we should have read the details better that there wasn’t a bar!
only thing I’d say about the rooms is the ventilation wasn’t very good so they did get a bit stuffy particularly when drying wet clothes.

we arrived at the gorgeous place in snow and freezing conditions and were blown away by the beauty of the place. we were greeted by a lovely young lady who was so helpful, friendly and couldn’t be more welcoming ! we walked into our room 10 and were greeted with the best scenic view of the lake you could ask for it was like looking at a postcard. Room was clean, well kept and toastie. Breakfast was also great too. Could not of asked for a better stay and would deffo recommend it!
Nothing it was brilliant

Location, near to good walks and town centre.
Eggs at breakfast were consistently overcooked but otherwise plenty of choice from the buffet..

Privacy close to amenities.
Better if it had a bar and restaurant.

Pleasant staff, large and comfortable room.
Described as a luxury hotel, it did not meet up to that rating.
Room not cleaned properly each day. Staff very pleasant but appeared to need training to meet higher standards

Location was good.
Value for money didn't meet expectations for the price paid. Needs a little TLC and attention to detail.

The bed was very comfortable -- the room had a nice view -- all very quiet -the breakfast very good
There was a certain amount of inattention to detail. For example when we arrived the hot tap wasn't working in the shower room - it was reported and mended but not very well as it stopped again. The tap was replaced the day before we came away. The shower was a bit temperamental. There was a dressing table with a stool underneath- however we had to move a heavy armchair to get to it and pull out the stool in order to sit down -- this had to happen each time. Every day we had to ask for an extra knife for our breakfast to spread the butter etc on our toast. The sanitary bin in the shower room wasn't empty every day and we had to ask for another loo roll. The staff were very young friendly and nice so perhaps they are still learning to pre-empt any problems. I would also add that there was often no one at reception and without a safe in the bedroom - I should imagine a burglary would be a fairly easy operation.

Excellent location to use the ferry, quiet and friendly staff.
A little bit far from the city center and restaurants. Quite old fashioned bathroom with separate tap for hot and cold water and the smallest shower cabin I have seen

Lovely house in great location.
Shame to be shoved round the back and not in the actual house, should be explained when booking!
Small breakfast portions.
