It was clean and very peaceful ❤️
After we arrived at the lodge, we had to check-in at 2 pm. We got there in exact time but had to wait for about 30-45 minutes to get into our room cause it wasn’t ready. It was cold and we weren’t happy about the wait.

It's a lovely heritage building. Staff are friendly . It's clean and the rooms are quaint and comfy.. I recommend it to anyone who loves a bit of history .

I really liked the personality of this place. I know it's not the Hilton, you get what you pay, and prices were great when I booked this one, with almost 90% properties were already booked. The location is great, right in the centre, staff is friendly and showed the place around. Room was comfy and enough for couple of nights. You get all the facilities needed, living room, fully equipped kitchen, several bathrooms, etc. I would come back for sure
Even with the heating it was a tiny bit cold in the room

Convenient location.
Bedspread smelled of old sweat, and only one blanket on the bed even though it was quite cold. Nearly injured myself on a step between the bedroom and toilet in the dark, with no safety light. I usually am fine with quirky older places if they’re clean, feel safe and are value for money, but this didn’t feel good.

Location
No blinds in rooms, only see through curtains . Very eerie sense. Very dark. Bar heater only that was dodgy as, not enough blankets. Not enough toilet paper, no hand basin near toilets. bathrooms dirty. Place was freezing. Hear everything and everyone.

Everything you need is there
Everything was very old and run down

Great location, near to the train station and amidst shops, restaurants etc. Adrian who manages the hostel, was very helpful. The building itself has a lot of character, and there is plenty of room for socialising in the lounges, and dinng room. Great views too.
Didn't dislike anything, but could do with a bit more security for baggage.

Quaint dining room & a few rest areas w/fireplace
Bunk bed was metal on the flimsy side not secure to the wall therefore extremely noisy. Front desk availability comes with delay since the person works around the place, but he was a nice man. Do not expect much tourist info. Pantry area badly needs cleaning. The balconies were closed at the time and/or no furniture to enjoy them. It is the first time where I stay played a part in leaving the town earlier.

Location was good but a steep climb up 30steps and that was to reception then another 20 to get to my room. Too many steps for me. I'm 73.
Having to share bathroom and toilet. No TV in room. No microwave.

I extended my stay here because I liked it so much. It is simple but clean and quiet. Staff are very nice and helpful. Close to all the best attractions in Katoomba and beyond with the train station very close by.
The kitchen is small with basics but it means you can cook a simple meal if you need to. Large dining area with tables and chairs. This place is an older building but this adds character to the experience because it has some history. I chose a single room and it was very comfortable with much needed privacy and a quiet space. Big sunny reading lounge where you can do work online from a laptop or just read. It was one of the most reasonably priced places I have stayed at to date for what is offered. I hope it stays this way. It was one of the most reasonably priced places I have stayed at to date for what is offered. I hope it stays this way. Definitely recommended.
Kitchen area plus fridge needed a bit of organisation so guests could have places to store their foodstuffs. More flowing hand soap needed to top up containers in the bathrooms. Something to dry wet hands would be useful. Lounge carpets needed vacuuming. Some power boards/cords in the reading lounge would be useful for charging laptops.

Location was good
Room was like a jail sell, was told we would have a sink and it was literally just a single bed in a 1 by 2 metre room. When we walked in there was someone’s toenails on the floor they didn’t even clean the room.

nothing
I paid AUD 112 for a room which is smell like a Hindu temples
couldn’t even breath in,
room is very cold and there was a tiny heater which is not even good enough to warm up a wash room,
was expecting the room to have an attached bathroom as all the other room option mentioned sharing bathroom.
but end up with a sharing bathrooms.
I paid same amount in hunter valley and got an amazing room with attached bathroom and comfortable bed.
this totally a rip off. outside the hotel it says AUD 36 for room with sharing bathroom and I got the same for AUD 112
