The staff were exceptionally helpful and good-natured, even with an unanticipated late arrival. Breakfast is excellent; location is excellent. Rooms are comfortable, quiet, and very clean. This is a great YHA! We will definitely stay here again.
There is no lift, so be prepared to carry luggage up several flights of stairs. Wish they had a laundry room (there is a drying room).

Breakfast and dinner were great
Amazing location
Very helpful staff
Room very basic with bunk beds and tired decor. En suite facilities very small and need updating
£165 for very basic room and breakfast for 4 people is expensive for quality of room

staff were great, particularly when we realised we'd forgotten some ingredients for our self-catered meal...much appreciated!

Everything was fine.

Fantastic hostel warm and friendly

Beautiful and well-maintained building
7.0
value for money and lovely location
The dormitory rooms are quite noisy due to the nature of the old building having no insulation/sound proofing between the floors. The downstairs toilets in the games area could do with a deep clean.

Nothing, unfortunately.
The bed was uncomfortable. The food was the worst I have ever eaten. The fire alarm went off twice during our stay - once at 3.30am - and staff ill-equipped to deal with it.

The breakfast was fantastic. The rooms clean and warm.
Location was excellent for sightseeing and walking
The shower in our room was pretty rubbish.
Water pressure poor and the cabinet dark. It felt pretty claustrophobic in there.

This was first experience of a youth hostel and it definitely was a positive one , loved the atmosphere , the rooms were warm and well maintained, self catering kitchen was ideal for cooking and having a chat with fellow residents .
I will definitely recommend and use again.

Great location even though on a hill, good steep hill great for calve muscle work out. Beautiful well kept grounds. Building full of lovely character. Used cafe for dinner and breakfast both great. Room had own bathroom so good for us.
Know hard not to hear people but more notices around dorms toask people to not slam doors and respect other people may be asleep. Notices in cafe on entry to let people know the process and to clean own pots away to help the staff.
