It is a lovely hotel good food and restaurant great bar. Parking just around the corner.
They were having work done with builders around it was noisy but you can see it will be lovely when completed. The staff explained and apologetic about the noise.

The staff were all really friendly and helpful. I appreciated that they provided early breakfast for me on my check out day.
It was unusually hot on one of the days I was there so a ceiling fan in the room would have helped.

Staff so friendly and food exceptional

Staff really friendly, especially Matthew who went out of his way for us and even found us a car parking space. Charmingly decorated room, high and comfortable bed, large bathroom, brilliantly clean, larger than expected room, lots of plug sockets, water as well as tea and coffee, biscuits! Stayed in Room 2, Walberswick.
Having to leave.

Nothing was too much trouble,no pressure just a very relaxed stay . Even though going through some major refurbishment the rooms and hotel were amazingly clean .
Nothing

Room nicely decorated and comfortable. Breakfast excellent. All staff very friendly and extremely responsive to every request.
Parking off site but very close (and free). Shower controls and soap dispensers some distance from shower head. (These are very minor nitpicking issues)

very clean, comfortable and the staff were incredibly helpful
Fry up breakfast could definitely be improved

The recent refurbishment had been carried out to a very high standard.
Nothing.

lovely people, room and the breakfast
A little pricey but I had a double room - maybe if more single rooms were available that would be more cost effective

Excellent location for the event we were attending.Spacious room, friendly staff and best of all dog friendly

Hotel is under new ownership and has had a refurb. My room was freshly done, spotless, spacious, with a large comfy bed. I had dinner in the restaurant, which was busy (Thursday evening), and the food was excellent.

the presentation of the hotel. it’s fantastic it’s been recently refurbished and the decor is absolutely amazing. the rooms have been finished to the highest of standards and we absolutely loved our stay that much that were already looking at when to book for our next visit.
the management and staff were amazing couldn’t do enough for you the options for breakfast were amazing. so much to choose from. loved the options

Friendly staff on the phone and on arrival. Fabulous rooms of all sizes (we had a look around) Delicious food and attentive service. The staff were obviously enthusiastic and proud of this beautifully renovated hotel, restaurant.
We only stayed one night!

A fantastic hotel! Matt and Eleanor were so welcoming. A lovely family atmosphere. Delicious breakfast with fresh locally sourced produce. We had dinner in the restaurant too. Highly recommend the fish and the sticky toffee pudding!
Everything was perfect for us.

new property friendly staff
bit noisy due to location near road and single glazing and street lights which we are not used to

Food at the restaurant was lovely and staff were really friendly
We stayed in room 8 which was a fire exit. This in itself was OK but the fire exit light within the room is so bright I found myself unable to sleep well.

Not much
Hotel was in a poor state of condition...bulb in lamp needed replacing...extractor in shower room did not work...depressing room

Breakfast ok although strange not to have side plates provided. Had two meals; one was lovely but second was basic. Different chef? Hotel looked unkempt - dead flowers, dirty windows. Asked to change rooms as first offer appalling. Bathroom basic. No heating. Inconsistent patterns from staff. Pleasant enough people but they seemed bemused most of the time. Definitely would not return and feel we paid a lot for so little.
Everything.

The food was excellent with a good choice. The rooms were big and warm and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Could not find fault with anything.
4.5
The food was of a really good quality with a wide menu created by an experience chef. We stayed four nights and wanted to try as many of the starters, mains and desserts as we could. None disappointed. Breakfast was excellent and generous with beautiful fresh fruit salad each day. The service was excellent. The staff were helpful and friendly. It is a busy local pub as well as a hotel but the staff were calm despite many demands.
This is an old building and we believe that refurbishment is taking place. Our room was spacious and comfortable with two easy chairs to relax in but the fittings especially in the bathroom were tired.

Excellent breakfast and service
Unable to get seat in the bar for pre dinner drink. Staff poorly dressed in leggings and tee shirt, difficult to know who were staff and who were visitors to the bar. Looked unprofessional, despite being friendly, helpful and competent.

Food was good
Room was small

Room was as expected. Check in and check out were smooth. Good location with parking nearby.
Disappointed on arrival in the afternoon to ask for information about the scones and cakes advertised in reception only to be told that they weren't available until after 5pm as there was "no chef on duty". Either don't advertise scones and cakes or make sure that there is a selection available. It doesn't need a chef to be present.

Staff did their best to resolve our complaint.
The hotel certainly didi not live up to our expectations or the rating given on booking.com. The decor and carpets were dirty, the lobby and stair carpet smelt of fried fat and the rooms smelt musty. The first room we were offered was dingy and smelt stale.
