The location was fantastic for Scafell Pike. The food was lovely and the beds were comfortable.
The bedrooms could have done with a little dusting and there was always water around the toilet.

Excellent staff and comfy room
Some noisy neighbours, banging on the door next door.

Location was perfect, secluded but easily accessible too.
The log burner fires were lit and staff maintained them for us too, very comfortable and relaxed vibes!
The only issue we had was the check out time was a bit early, 10am is early when your a shift worker who likes a lie in and has sampled the gin bar til 1am!

few cobwebs in the room and some bird poo on a lamp shade (cheeky little robins letting themselves in!) menu was limited unfortunately

The location was superb for amazing walks and attractions. Dog friendly everywhere we went. Staff was amazing. Very helpful, approachable and knowledgable about the area. Very friendly and energetic. Delicious food with locally sourced ingredients. Friendly locals and travellers in the pub. Great walk in shower with good pressure and hot water.
Wi-fi in our room didn't work, but we didn't mind as much, since the purpose of our stay was to get away.

Staff were very friendly. Room was lovely and warm comfortable with a nice modern bathroom. Limited menu next door in the pub due to to time of year. Nice walk behind the hotel and plenty of others around. Quite remote very peaceful.

The beds were a little hard and the window did not close properly but everything else was great!

Very small room with ‘tired’ furniture. Nowhere to dry towels. Comfy bed and nice linen. Took a while for hot water to come through in shower. We waited sometime for staff to come and take orders for breakfast, another resident went and knocked the kitchen door to ask if we could order. Breakfast was delicious when it arrived. In summary, we feel that the overall experience did not reflect the price we paid.
More staff, better service. Room needs refurbishing.

The room was really lovely. The staff were fab. The female staff member on arrival could not have been better, more helpful or friendly . The bed was a little too firm for me bd the pillows a little flat.

Stunning location.
Dog friendly pub with good ales, wood fired pizza oven backed up by a varied menu with efficient, attentive staff that just ticks all boxes..
Live (chilled)music whilst we were there that set a good bar atmosphere.
Good breakfast as well!
Perfect base for a nice long weekend away and plenty of interesting passing traffic as petrol heads on a pilgrimage drive the Hardnott pass.
Room was well presented and clean but I suffered a bit from the hard bed mattress that marred a good night's sleep.Probably not bother some people though.
Don't forget the accommodation is above a pub so there's some noise but went quiet by probably 11.30 latest.Really not a problem for us...
