The location was perfect with beautiful views all round and especially from our room.
The breakfast was excellent - so tasty and really set us up for the day
We really enjoyed the guest lounge int eh evening too, so lovely not to be contstrained to our room - we really enjoyed the open fire too
Being very fussy and quite tall, the shower enclosure was rather cramped.

A very warm welcome, and a lovely location with peace and quiet.
A great overnight stay in very comfortable surroundings. We stayed in the smaller of the rooms but this was still lovely and with the benefit of a lovely bathroom. The other rooms might have a slightly nicer view but we certainly have no complaints.

Naomi and her team were friendly and welcoming. The welcome tea and home baked goodies were delicious and the quality of the breakfast was equally good.
A welcoming fire and lovely lounge as well as good facilities in the room. Refreshments in the room were replenished daily and it was a welcome addition to have fresh milk and the use of a fridge.
A beautiful and quiet location.

-The interesting history, architecture and internal design and decoration of Stanshope Hall
-The very pleasant gardens with outdoor furniture providing a relaxing space for coffee or tea and delicious homemade flapjack
-The excellent breakfast menu which included fresh fruits from the garden and homemade jam and marmalade -The comfortable lounge with plenty of leaflets on places to visit and a tear-off map of the local area
- The provision of fresh milk and bottled water in a fridge nearby the bedrooms and a daily replacement of satsumas, biscuits and chocolates
- The reasonably close proximity of the Tissington Trail for cycling or walking and the beautiful walk from the hall down to Dovedale alongside the river
- Spacious parking within the grounds
- Last but not least, the very friendly and obliging staff and owner, Naomi Chambers - many thanks
- be careful when opening the sash windows in the bedrooms
- the pillows were a little flat but I am sure this would have been rectified had we remembered to mention it

The breakfast was excellent with a suoerb range of options cooked to order. The presentation of it was superb and very 'posh'. The rstriped room we were in was roomy and clean - full of quirky features, as was the whole house. The bathroom was modern and recently modelled with high quality fixtures. We felt very well attended to without ever feeling under pressure. We had space in a fridge for anything we needed to keep cool as well as having a pint of real milk ready for us.The location was very rural - far from any noise or traffic but close to lots of nice villages with plenty of hill walking on offer. The host was lovely too!
Nothing stands out,

Had a great stay there for a night. It's a very beautiful location facing the Dovedale hills. Great to read about the history of the building back dated 16th century. Rooms are spacious along with big shower room and bath room. Room has that old charm luxury look. Beds were very comfortable and had a nice sleep. Breakfast was delicious. Naomi is a super host and she welcomed us with a nice peppermint tea and ice-cream for my son. :-). Will be visiting again.

Very good break fast.

I liked the homemade jam tarts and flapjacks with a pot of tea in the drawing room when we arrived. It was nice that fresh milk was provided in the fridge for when we made our own teas and coffees. The breakfast was nice, as well as the homemade jams and lemon curd. The location was good and we enjoyed our walk in Dovedale which is really close by.

Relaxed atmosphere, beautiful setting, and lovely attention to detail with the breakfast and facilities within the room.

Naomi was the perfect hostess and made our stay so enjoyable. We loved relaxing by the open fire after being outdoors and listening to music in the beautifully decorated sittingroom. The beds were very comfortable and we slept well. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. The house was tastefully decorated throughout. Peaceful and quiet location with views of the gardens and countryside.

The breakfast was fantastic, loads of choice, and the cooked breakfast done as you requested.
Nothing. Stanshope Hall and it's hosts are amazing.

Fantastic welcome with tea/coffee and biscuits. The hotel itself is full of character with a country-house drawing room available for guests to use. Good quality breakfast with plenty of choice. Spacious accommodation with both bath and shower.

Lovely place in lovely surroundings. An excellent breakfast and the host Naomi was very accommodating.
Nice little touches all around as well.
Nothing negative to report apart from not really being near anywhere but that was fine. You just need a car.

In addition to the fabulous stay, wonderful views and really warm welcome, I need to convey my thanks for the staff honesty. While should expect it, it cannot be guaranteed.
I left my entire jewellery box in the room. I was back in the U.K. from overseas for many weeks so you can imagine how much I had with me. Yes lots and very valuable.
The cleaning staff handed it in and the owner kept in until I was able to return.
I tried to offer a reward but it was not taken. The owner also having the attitude of expecting honesty as well as guaranteeing it.
So I’m enormously grateful. I don’t imagine being as lucky in all places I stayed in this summer
Thank you.

A lovely house in a beautiful location. Very interesting furnishings and decor and a beautiful building. Comfortable rooms and bathroom. Extensive breakfast menu. Fair number of good places to eat in the area. Very helpful staff. Our stay was on the first day after the lock down restrictions ended but there were no signs of any teething problems on the first day of business for a long time.

Stunning location, lovely property, garden and view from room. Path adjacent to property leads to Milldale, Ilam Rock Bridge and Dovedale . Welcome tray on arrival with scones and coffee by log fire in lounge. We were able to come back from walk and light fire in lounge - perfect. Staff and host could not have been more welcoming and helpful, but unobtrusive. Large, comfortable spacious room with lovely en-suite. Tasty, well presented, quality breakfast in room with views of garden.
Minor points:
Bathroom only had a net curtain over long, clear glass window next to toilet. Although in the middle of nowhere, still felt a bit uncomfortable at night with light on.
Meaty breakfast had two slices of bacon and one sausage , vegetarian had only one very nice sausage - could have done with two, didn't like to ask
