Had dinner there, it was excellent, service was great. Room was comfortable and ensuite very modern and efficient. Breakfast was superb.
Could do with a bigger car park.

Location, food and atmosphere all great. Nice check in and lovely friendly service at breakfast.
Room size (standard twin) was a little on small side for us but we like a lot of space and room was really hot until we figured how to turn down the radiator! Other than that it would be fine for others and there are larger rooms there for more money if you wanted.

Excellent location on Hambleton peninsula
Very friendly and helpful staff
The food is always excellent
It can be difficult to find a parking space in the car park if you arrive early afternoon or early evening, which I suppose is to be expected at a very popular location.

It’s location and it’s vibe

Breakfast and the staff were all friendly and efficient.
The room I booked (superior room with view of Rutland Water) was not available and my wife and I were shown into an inferior room with a view of the car park and noisy air conditioning or a generator or some such thing which disturbed our sleep. a huge disappointment that spoiled what should have been a very special 65th wedding anniversary trip.
There was no problem in obtaining a refund of the £60 surcharge paid for the superior room but that is not the point, it should not have happened whoever was responsible, whether it be the hotel management or Booking.com.

we took the last room it was a twin bedded room, I haven’t slept in a single bed for probably about 35 years and I’ve forgotten how small they are! room was small over looking the car park/bins so a little noisy on a Saturday night, there was a coffee machine no coffee pods/milk or sugar! shower had a mind of its own which I reported to staff just incase on future stays there are children using it as it flushed boiling hot irregularly!

Our upgraded bedroom with a superb view of Rutland Water, the manager and owner were very pleasant and helpful. Hambleton is a beautiful location. Breakfast was very good.
The twin bedded room which we originally booked was small and dark. We had to upgrade to a better room at additional expense. The dinner menu could have been more varied. Some lighter dishes would have been nice.

no facilities in room for making tea or coffee. Apparently "due to. refurbishment" but this did not seem v convincing!

Nice decor and helpful staff.

Lovely stay, perfect location. Rooms all renovated with very nice furnishings, bed linens were 5*. Pub itself has top notch food and staff were all very helpful!
Breakfast in the main dining room was nice, croissants and fresh fruit juices also available to self serve as well as the hot breakfast menu, nothing to fault!
Might not be the season for it yet but some outside lights and heaters on the outside patio would have been lovely now the lighter nights are here!

the room was very comfortable and nicely decorated. the views were stunning over the water.
The staff were not friendly and welcoming and you could often hear them talking unpleasantly about other guests. Was also very disappointed that there was not tea and coffee making facilities in the room. at £130 per night I would expect tea and coffee in the room.

Relaxed friendly staff and great facilities. The food was perfect in the evening and really enjoyed the breakfast. Great place to stay. I would definitely stay again if I'm in the area.

there was no hot water in my room for a shower and the towel rail was cold.

The whole place looked wonderful for Christmas, the staff were helpful and friendly, the food was excellent. It is very well worth a visit
My only small fault, although the beds are very comfortable the are quite low to the ground, for those of us with creaky knees.

Stayed for one night to break our journey from Kent to Yorkshire a few days before Christmas and booked dinner in the restaurant for our anniversary. Meal was superb. Couldn't fault either the quality of food or the service. Atmosphere was excellent. Breakfast also very good with plenty of choice.
Our twin room was a bit of a disappointment. Bed too soft and very squeeky. We had the continuous hum of what we think was the central heating boiler below us. General decor of the room was shabby. Laminate flooring which was also very noisy to walk on. Walls scraped/marked in various spots with filler in places which hadn't been smoothed over. Several badly cracked tiles on the bathroom floor. No curtains at the window, only shutters which didn't keep the light out.

lovely restaurant and pub, nice decor. friendly and easy check in. room was lovely and warm (important at this time of year when you’ve been out walking in the cold). breakfast was tasty and fresh.
sadly we were woken up at 7am by music playing very loudly downstairs. we expected noise at the pub til late at night which was fine, not too loud and didn’t bother us. but on a weekend away we didn’t appreciate the early morning wake up call. rooms/bathrooms need a little touching up in areas.
