Warm and well sized room. All comforts provided. The attached restaurant / breakfast is very good and accommodates for a range of dietary requirements.
A bit on the expensive side.

Really nice staff and lovely breakfast. Room was sweet and had everything you need for a short stay. Lovely location.

Breakfast - fab
Our room was a good size but the window was within touching distance of the church.
Pigeons everywhere and pigeon poo was the outlook, it actually made me feel sick. We didn’t like to leave windows open in case pigeons came in.
The bed mattress was lumpy.
But a lovely hotel

Location is perfect. Right in the centre of town. Unfortunately there is no parking. Room was big and comfortable. There wasn’t a window except the skylight and I struggled to open the blind on this. The building is lovely, with nice furnishing. Staff were friendly. Breakfast wasn’t included so we paid for that but was one price for whatever you selected, £15, so you could have had a full English or just a sausage sandwich and it was the same price. I would definitely stay again.
There was a fire alarm early morning on the Saturday and when my husband went down to find out what was going on, he was told there was a fault and it is happening regularly. It would have been nice to have known about this, instead of panicking when it went off.

Good location in the town and a nice bar. Room comfortable.
Paper thin walls heard people talking at 4.30am, woken up by the fire alarm twice on the same day - once at the crack of dawn then again late that night

Excellent standard, friendly efficient staff.
Nothing to report!

Everything apart from the lack of a window to my room and air conditioning. Excellent staff and food; well appointed room and lovely lobby. But, and it is a big but - no air conditioning. Very bad night's sleep. Only a ceiling window, and since it was really hot outside, that made no difference whatsoever. A decent fan is provided, but I ran that on full throughout the night, which must be a huge waste of electricity.
Lack of air conditioning - that really is all I didn't like!

Location close to where we needed it to be
Liked the artwork
Noise!
Unhelpful night porter who did not attempt to resolve.
Deluxe room is located above the bar which continues to serve gone 3am!
Manager who could not make eye contact when trying to deal with complaint

The room was very comfortable and clean, with little added extras such as small bar of chocolate with tea and coffee and pillow spray.
Breakfast was good and there was plenty of choice on the menu.

Great location, excellent staff. Very clean hotel with a decent sized room comfortable bed.
Parking is a bit of an issue. There are public car parks close to the hotel, but the machines are difficult to operate, probably best to download the app and pay that way.

Breakfast was delicious. Good selection on the bar. Comfortable restaurants

Hotel with lots of character. Staff were wonderful. Very friendly and couldn't do enough to ensure we had a good stay. (We had a medical issue in our group and the team were so helpful). We ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious.
It wasn't a dislike but as with a number of central market town hotels, there wasn't a car park. Hotel provided pre arrival directions on the best one to use so not an issue. The suggested car park was very close and only £4 for 23 hours

The breakfast
The room was rather small

Very friendly staff. Excellent food and bar. Very comfortable bed.
Room (11) over restaurant/kitchen area, music being played in those areas was quite intrusive late at night. No way of switching main lights off from bed. Bedside reading lights not particularly effective, and were a bit rickety.

Breakfast, bed, friendly staff , location
Lack of coordination between hotel and water company which left most areas without water for most of the morning

We have stayed here on several occasions and it has always been excellent. The room has always been clean with additional items such as tea-making facilities and several towels. The breakfast is also excellent with plenty of choice.
Missed the hot chocolate sachets!!!!

It is a lovely hotel which is very smart with excellent staff. The room was very comfortable with plenty of draw and wardrobe space. A good quality television and well stocked bathroom. Hairdryer, iron and ironing board are supplied in each room.
I was disappointed in the breakfast. I am dairy and gluten free so breakfast can be a problem. No cereals were gluten free and there was no dairy free milk on offer. I had the full cooked English breakfast but it was minus sausage, hash brown and black pudding. All those are available gluten free. I stayed in a hotel in June which served gluten free sausage for breakfast, a lot of sausages are now naturally gluten free. There was gluten free toast available. Whilst I realise that people with allergies are in the minority it would be nice to be able to have the offer of a full cooked breakfast.
