For beach seclusion, perfect for family time.

It was a standalone house with no neighbours, one level, open plan, next to the pool and hood bbq area and short walk into the GORGEOUS Black’s Beach. If you’re here for a good beach holiday then it’s fabulous, if you’re here to be in Mackay each day, then drive is a bit annoying (we had three kids and getting them in and out of the car was just something extra to factor in). The property is fully self contained, kitchen is well supplied, the bath and shower is great for kids and the TV is fully connected to wifi with all the apps which is great for family movie night. The open living space is excellent for social time, but it’s all concrete and polished tiles (which makes sense coz of the beach location). just bring mats or something soft if you have babies… Terry is fabulously welcoming and very kind. Thanks for a great stay :-)

The bathroom could use a good deep clean to get rid of the mould, the beds are comfy but super soft and the mattresses and mattress protectors are full of stains and could use updating.

Disappointing

Place is quite old and needs a revamp - curtains need replacing and kitchen cupboards do not close properly. Gardens need a lot of attention.

Really great stay!

Great location, really good pools, sports courts with free equipment to use, amazing bbq area, spacious villa which was well equipped. Terry was really helpful when we arrived & had some great advice!

Awesome resort, perfect to unwind make sure you book early cos it’s really popular and for good reason it’s the best!

Everything! From the superior customer service at check in, the beautiful spacious clean beach front villa, the secure carport parking, the pools cleanliness and temperature, location to the beach, amenities available like tennis, and friendliness of other people staying. My kids had a ball having nerf gun wars with other kids who were staying at the same time as us. This is what school holidays are all about, making fun memories. We can’t wait to come back again soon it was such a relaxing and fun break away.

Exceptional

The Shores is a great place to stay, particularly if you have children. The bedrooms are spacious and air conditioned, beds comfortable. The living and dining areas are very spacious and appointed with anything you need for a holiday. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. While a little out of town, it is adjacent the beach and has dining options and a shop close by if you want to self-cater. Overall we were delighted with the Shores and will definitely look to stay there on our next trip to Mackay.

Overpriced and disappointing.

The pool, location and access to the beach was good

The townhouse we stayed in had a bad musty smell. The sofa bed that one of us had to sleep on was filthy and uncomfortable.

Enjoyable stay.

Excellent location with great access to Blacks Beach. The owners Terry and Anne were extremely helpful and accommodating.

The parking is pretty skinny especially if you have a 4wd. The mozzies and sandflies are mentioned in the welcome pack info but no repellent or coils offered in the rooms. We couldn’t sit outside

Lovely spot on the beach.

We stayed in the beach villa just a short walk across the dunes to the wonderful Blacks Beach. The villa is well set up, washing machine, dryer, well equipped kitchen and very comfortable beds and lounges. Other great facilities include swimming pools and well maintained garden and lawns. We loved our stay.

Some confusion at the outset about our booking but this was quickly resolved.

Disappointing

The location of the property near the beach and the recreational facilities were good.

The rooms were all very dated, the balcony off the main bedroom was damaged and couldn’t be used, the lounge chairs were dirty and smelt, the floors were sticky, the benches hadn’t been wiped down properly and there were small ants crawling on the kitchen benches. We didn’t look much further because we were totally disgusted and disappointed.

We were very disappointed about the state of the unit. It has obvious been neglected for some time and there is quite a

The unit requires quite a bit of maintenance and was barely clean. Dust on most surfaces, crumbs in kitchen cupboards, splashback tiles in the kitchen were dirty. Tap in the shower needs to be repaired. Stove top / oven dirty and damaged and needs repair or to be replaced. Toilets do not flush properly. Floor tiles were sticky. we couldn’t get free to air television to work on the TV downstairs.

Beachside villa was lovely and big.

The space of outside was fantastic for kids to run around and the room itself was very spacious with a full kitchen!

only thing I could say was the internet didn’t work. it appeared like there just wasn’t a strong signal but I was told on leaving that it could have been reset.

Mobile reception and WIFI are poor. Not the fault of the site but just a reflection of the area. Telstra service at Blacks beach is pathetic and has been for years. Great location but connection to internet is left wanting for a working location.

The location is fantastic right on the beach (blacks Beach). The unit we had was great and had everything we would need for our stay. Nearby were restaurants and a small supermarket.
