Pros
- Good pillows.
- Quiet location.
- Great shower.
We stayed in the mews building “Caspian room”. Had a terrible nights sleep in a small room with a rock hard bed. Overall a bit disappointing for the price.
Big Cons
- Rock hard mattress (a clearly known issue as it has two extra padded mattress toppers).
- “Wide bed” is actually two single mattresses in one frame.
- Toilet door has transparent glass with line of sight from bed to toilet. No privacy.
- Undersized duvet for bed width.
- Photos misleading as lobby looked like part of the room. The photo of the sofa, is in the lobby, which is shared with the other room in this building and unusable.
Small cons
- Double charged for room (two receipts but got refund on pointing out the error)
- Misleading through omission. Spiral staircase is external and feels treacherous in the wet.
- Thin walls and next to other room

Venue, dining area/experience, beautiful surroundings.
As above. As I was attending a seminar, I did not have much time to explore the surroundings.

Excellent staff. When good people, nothing is problem at all. Very happy with attitude and services people there.

Lovely old time lodge but immaculately kept. Staff were excellent.
Access to the room was up a spiral staircase. Bit hard with luggage.

It’s an old but beautifully restored property set in magnificent grounds

Beautiful building. Room was small but cosy.
Access to the property is via a badly maintained road where there isn't room for two cars to pass, especially near the building site. Access to the room was via an external metal stairway which was awkward to get luggage up and down and no help was offered. Breakfast was NOT included and no price was stated on the menu. I was charged £15 for an OK breakfast which I think is a lot. Had I known about the price of breakfast and the external access to the room, I would have most likely not booked this property.

Remote single track, aside from slight hum of M5 it was an amazingly peaceful place, location and gardens

Room was amazing, gorgeous decor and so many extra nice touches. Lovely grounds and view from my balcony.
Breakfast not included and this wasn't made clear.

the food
the room. the bed was huge but crammed into the eves so it was impossible to get in without crouching past beams or sloping walls
4.5
stylish
ceiling was leaking and the breakfast was way over priced

This is a very friendly and slightly quirky venue.
The room was very comfortable and the food was delicious. It's popular for weddings and was very busy but the staff couldn't have been more attentive and helpful.
There's a lot of development going on in the surrounding area so there can be a lot of traffic on the little road that leads to the hotel. The road is in a terrible condition, possibly due to all the use.

Room, breakfast and dinner was excellent.
The shower was very good.

lovely location and traditional building in lovely grounds staff very attentive 😃
unfortunately not very comfortable the furniture was a bit imposing. The Television didn’t get good picture due to aerial . not enough choices for breakfast and cost of room very expensive.

The Radiators made a row all night long, we couldn't turn them off

The superb staff employed in this Hotel make this Hotel what it is! A beautiful, clean, relaxing, gentle place. OK, so there was a private party on during our first evening stay, but that was no problem at all. Would highly recommend this Hotel and would most definitely stay there again.

Overall staying in Berwick lodge was a nice experience, the staff were friendly and the main building was very characterful and felt high end.
The cheaper rooms in the annexe reflected the lower price compared to staying in the main house and access up an outdoor metal spiral staircase in the wet would be a concern for some visitors.
