Old, falling apart property where reality doesn’t match pictures or amenities listed

Each bedroom had its own bathroom

There were many issues with this property. It’s not worth the money. - little to no hot water - issues with toilet flushing - no views - no king or queen beds, only full beds - clothes dryer did not work - kitchen had very few utensils and bowls and had no drinking glasses except whiskey glasses; not for more than 2-3 people - WiFi was slow and did not work in bedrooms; they claimed this was because Monteverde is in the mountains however when we went to nearby restaurants with WiFi, we didn’t experience any issues - The property is old and many things are falling apart. We were even told to flip the circuit breaker switches if any power went out. - The 4-bedroom place is shared housing for students of the Spanish school. It’s not actually meant to be lodging for large groups and should not be advertised as such. They are trying to list two properties under one listing on Booking so the pictures and amenities may not match the property you are assigned. This is not clear or fair. It’s a bait and switch tactic. The property denied having any issues and refused to do anything to fix the issues. Booking.com did absolutely nothing to help us or advocate for us or give us a partial refund. They simply sent us standard, template messages.

Nice and quit stay with amazing view

The apartment was big and had a lot of space. There was enough equipment in the kitchen to cook and the view is amazing!

Due to the wind it was a bit noisy but we slept well! The only thing I would recommend is if the staff would be a bit quicker in responding via the Booking app. We asked some questions about transport but never got a reply on that.

Views are amazing. Very tastefully decorated. Bath is great and kitchen is utility.

Great place to stay!

Beautiful view. Amazing gardens to sit in or walk through and enjoy.

Bathroom sink wouldn’t drain in one unit. Safe wouldn’t lock in one unit. (We notified staff of these issues at check out and they notified maintenance.)

Super! We stayed in the big house, creative architecture, quite some stairs walking up&down, but it was so great for the two families of ours. And the staff was amazingly friendly.

Amenities in the unit were great. Cleaning of rooms exceeded our expectations. Gardens were incredible. Check in process was simpler than expected.

When we got to the room the room safe wasn't reset for our use and when we mentioned it, it wasn't addressed in time for our stay. This wasn't critical for our stay, but it would have been nice if this was addressed.

We really enjoyed the villa and the peace an quiet it provided.

We were a party of 3 couples. The house provided 4 bedrooms, which was plenty of room. The dining room, 2 living rooms, and kitchen were very comfortable. There are 4 bathrooms which was very adequate. There were some chickens on the property and pepper plants so the maid left the eggs for us along with any ripe peppers! Very nice accommodations.

Replace the 2 double (full size) beds with queen size beds which would be more comfortable for couples. The coffee maker was very slow so a faster machine would be great. One couple had the master bedroom but used the shower in one of the double bed rooms. The master bath did not have a shower separate from the huge jetted tub; a separate shower would be nice for the master bath. Also, the shower in the bath for the double size bedroom did not have a place to lay soap or set shampoo bottles. A shower caddy would be a good addition.

Nice stay, good location.

Nice little spot, cool private garden. Washer dryer was nice, good location.

Some small ants on floor in our room. Weekend check in required extra communication so less flexibility. No breakfast onsite. No A/C but no big deal not hot. No onsite reception for after hours issues/questions.

American style accommodation in a quiet location close easy access to many sites.

Great location for our needs. Staff was helpful. Kitchen was well equipped.

The parking was a bit awkward and we had to ask a neighboring tenant to park sideways so we would have room for our car.

Good

The kitchen requires a complete update, pots pans etc are scratched dangerous to use. The tub is so high that a person 5.4 or less would have great difficulty getting in and out of.

Location to activities was ideal: walking distance to several tours, restaurants, cafe, bakery. 10 min drive to cloud forest reserve. Landscaping beautiful. 2-bedroom apartment very spacious.

4 different keys needed to open various locks to get to/from apartment and parking space.
