THE LOCATION! The fact that was in a literal garden! It felt like I was in a fairy tale and the ability to just be in nature for the entirety of our trip! We loved Erica and her beautiful smile in the morning! It was a dream to stay here!

Staff at reception was very helpful and assisted us with tours and transfers booking. Garden around hotel is lovely we have seen a sloth, toucanet and other birds! There was a coffee station with ready made coffee. Breakfast was nice and substantial. As we had an early tour one day, we even been given a packed breakfast.
Room was a bit dark, but it's because it faced a garden which is quite dense. We didn't really mind it, so this is not a complaint. Bear in mind, it's really hard to walk around the town as often there are no pavement. Also roads are quite steep, so proper shoes are essential even if you are going out for a meal or attraction nearby.

The room was very large and had lots of space for our stuff. Communication ahead of time was very good and Claro de Luna was great with getting excursions booked for us. One morning we were waiting on our excursion to pick us up and they were a few minutes late - I wasn't worried, but the staff called the company to make sure they were coming which I thought was above and beyond. The property was lovely with a lot of spots to relax. I think the location is great - it's just outside of town, so it's a bit quieter, but a very quick/easy (albeit steep) walk into town. We also had our laundry done through the hotel - I'm sure we could have gotten a better price if we'd taken it to town ourselves, but it was very fair, fast, and convenient! (They'll give you bags too, if you need them).
There were a couple of bugs in the room, but honestly, for Costa Rica that seems standard unless you are at a very high end hotel. Also there isn't AC, which really isn't necessary in Monteverde as it is cooler, but it was well above average temps when we were there, so we were a bit warm during the day (luckily it still got cool enough at night that we had no trouble sleeping).

We stayed in the house with 4 people, we could choose from 5 different bedrooms and 6 bathrooms! The house is beautiful from the outside, functional but a little outdated on the inside. There was a harsh wind when we stayed there, all 3 nights you could hear the wind very hard, the house has cracks, so it was draughty. But it didn’t bother us too much, enough warm blankets. The hotel has a really beautiful garden, go and explore! Monteverde town is just a 5 minutes walk and some good restaurants and a supermarket in the direct area. The staff is very friendly and they can help you with your activities. All in all we liked staying in this house, maybe next time i would choose the hotel rooms, they are deeper in the garden and look more solid. We loved the architecture and the relaxed vibe.
As said, the house is quite draughty. Also a lot of windows/doors don’t have mosquito protection. We took the breakfast buffet 1 morning, it was ok, but the other mornings we preferred to make our own.

The property is absolutely beautiful. There is an amazing garden of trees and flowers. We even saw a sloth in one of the tree. The building are old but well maintained. Our bedroom was very big with really high ceiling with a nice terrace overlooking the garden. The cafeteria style breakfast was the best we had. Great selection of food. Jocelyn, the lady at the reception was very nice and welcoming.
There are many good restaurant very close. The Soda across the street is very good, authentic and reasonably priced.

We booked late and managed to secure the 5 bed house at a great price (we were two couples). It was fabulous to be in such clean spacious accommodation.
Lots of info, very light with large windows - felt a bit like a ski chalet.
We also lucked out with a sloth in the car park!
The lady on reception was delightful.
A short walk into town with great bars and restaurants.
If the house had been rented for 10 there is insufficient soft seating - just one, immovable 2 seater uncomfortable sofa.
Breakfast was a bit disappointing, we arrived 45 mins before close and the fruit had run out. Staff didn't seem keen to provide more, but did when asked. This was quickly consumed by the people at breakfast.

Location is amazing, it feels like you are in the countryside but it is only a three minute walk to town. The gardens are stunning and there was a sloth in a tree in the garden for our whole stay. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. When I arrived I mentioned that I was hoping to see a toucan and about half an hour later the receptionist knocked on my door to show me an emerald toucan that had landed in a tree in the garden.
The breakfast wasn't as good as other places I stayed.

Location is excellent, pretty close to Santa Elena downtown! the property was well taken care, clean and smooth and the rooms are beautiful!
I know it’s the middle of the cloud forest, but plague control could be a little better, so insects do not get into the rooms!

The whole experience was excellent from start to finish, from the very warm greeting at reception, the room and the breakfast. The grounds were beautiful. A very memorable stay.

Location was great, easy to walk to grocery store and restaurants. We rented the house portion of the hotel, so we had great privacy.

Beautiful, well-maintained garden, lots of birds in the morning. Huge bathtub with massage jets. Porch with seats and table. Good size of the room.
Limited selection for breakfast, no dedicated vegan/vegetarian options. Basic decor of rooms that have rather small windows, therefore much darker than expected. Beds fine though not especially comfortable.

The location, size of the room, and welcome and information at reception were great! The room was clean and the fresh flowers were a great touch.
Bugs in the room, which may be normal in this area.

Breakfast costs about $5 and must be ordered either the day before or earlier on in the morning. We stayed in the 5 bedroom house and there was plenty of room. Rooms were a good size and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and went above and beyond to exceed our expectations. The front desk will assist you in making any reservations such as zip lining, a night walk, or hanging bridges. Shuttle service comes directly to the hotel to pick up and take you to different activities, so you don't have to worry about getting lost and driving.
Restaurant on the premises is small. Parking in the lot below is small and can get full quickly.

This was my favourite hotel during my Costa Rica trip. The hotel looks like a Tuscan villa from outside, with blooming flowers everywhere. The room was enormous, with two four poster beds (even though there was only me and my boyfriend). The bathroom was also spacious. Breakfast was delicious - there is a choice of veggie omelette, ham and cheese omelette, or eggs and gallo pinto. The ladies in the restaurant who serve breakfast are always friendly and wished us a beautiful day when we left in the mornings. Sebastian at the reception was really friendly and helpful and recommended a local viewpoint with the most amazing sunset views. The hotel is a couple of minutes walk from Santa Elena town (supermarket, restaurants etc) and there are good restaurants nearby elsewhere. There is lovely outdoor space to sit in the sunshine and have a read.
We had a jacuzzi bathtub but we simply couldn't get it to work, despite seeking advice from the reception. It was also difficult to work out the shower so that the water pressure and the temperature both aligned - if I tried to increase one, the other seemed to go in the opposite direction.
