Comfy sleep, cheerful birds to wake you up.

We had to leave early for a planned hike, checkout was swift no key drop or any other formalities. Location is close to a couple of good hiking spots, place had a decent Indian restaurant however we arrived at midnight so had no time to try food. Room was spacious, although no step-free access for luggage or any other needs. Parking was free onsite, not covered but ample spaces. Place is offbeat so quite secure I would say.

Shocking will never be back!!

Only good thing was it was close to where I needed to be 🤣

The room was manky tv broken hair dryer broken bath was dirty entrance was shocking no lights or nothing locks on doors for a hotel are shocking

Location

Arrived and went around the back to check in. It was absolutely disgusting the view. A skip full of rubbish smelt absolutely disgusting and the fact they was some either kitchen from the restaurant at the back. Would definitely wouldn't want to eat there

Disappointing

At quiet location. Easy to find parking space.

Poor sound insulation - doors opening and closing, tap water running and people talking. Strange odour inside the room. Mattress too soft - any slight movement can be noticed by the person sleeping next to me.

Acceptable, but disappointing check in. Paying guests should not be made to wait 1hr to check in.

Had to wait over an hour to check in as the person wasn't there to let me in. They said they would be there in 10 minutes, 1 hour later they turned up.

Please sort the doors out!

Rooms are fairly spacious, clean and light, bathrooms equally so and good pressure/temperature in showers.

Doors! For the want of better door surrounds sealing so that 1- eliminates banging of others guests doors through the night, 2- light disturbance from hallway lighting into the bedrooms and not least 3- fire regulations! These wouldn't delay a fire should one break out in the kitchen of the restaurant below. And the back door is jammed open 24/7.

Location is nice and peaceful, great restaurant and conveniently downstairs from the rooms. Staff were helpful.

Beds needed new mattress, had to ask for extra towels and there was no heating in the room on one of the mornings

it was not obvious that there was a hotel attached, the staff didn’t make us feel welcome or know what we were there for we had to show them. customer service poor shower was freezing cold and water comes up through toilet when it’s on the back door is not monitored or locked through night so anyone could come in

Friendly staff, warm, clean room and delicious food.

Thankfully I read the reviews after I booked rather than before. We booked in last minute, an hour before we arrived and we were early for check in but we were welcomed in and luckily they had a clean room ready so we were able to go straight in. The room was very clean and warm, we had hot water on demand, I know a couple of reviews stated they had issues but we had 4 showers and a bath between the 3 of us and the water was perfect each time. Room was very clean with a working tv, kettle and WiFi. We had dinner downstairs and the food, staff and service was lovely. The price was great.

Average - location a bit out of the way if you are going into York. Room was a bit dirty

didn't get breakfast, was this included. the room was ok

came in the back entrance as i missed the turning for the main entrance. had to walk through the restaurant to get to our room, no clear reception. The room although looked clean was very dirty. I wiped down the surfaces due to being high risk with some antibacterial wipes and was surprised with the amount of dirt on the furniture,.

Great value and far easier and cheaper than staying in York.

Room was spotless, no breakfast on site, but a wetherspoons within a short drive. plenty of free parking and good access to A19. was quoted £30 for taxi into York so used the part and ride nearby. £10 for a 5 adult day pass.

The room had several bugs in it and the checkout procedure was unclear.

Great clean room with friendly staff

Great reception staff despite arriving late at night! The room was perfectly clean, comfortable with lots of natural light. Lots of parking available outside. I'm sure I'll stay here again, thank you
