Chequers Inn was totally fabulous! The location was really convenient and handy having a pub that served food available on the doorstep! The hosts were all fabulous; so friendly and made us feel very welcome. We stayed in the King suite which is beautiful! Breakfast is fabulous! Highly recommended.

Room was very good if a little small. Staff were excellent and helped when I needed a battery for my blood glucose meter. Food was very good.
Plumbing was a little challenging. Location was excellent for access to Fountains Abbey but the dearth of shops or garages without having to go into Harrogate was also challenging.

Very clean staff very welcoming and helpful
Bar was not open till 5pm

Bedroom was warm as heating on all night. Plenty of parking. Some staff were friendly.
Electric radiator not working, so bathroom was freezing and window had been left open. Dog in restaurant during breakfast and was roaming around. Continental breakfast was limited in relation to choice. Corridors very cold and noisy.

The room was warm and very comfortable, shower was great and the room was spotlessly clean. I had an evening meal which was absolutely delicious.

Staff were very friendly. The location was excellent for what we wanted to do. Room was spotless and the balcony was a lovely feature .
The room was very small . There was a distinct lack of electrical sockets , there wasn’t one near the bed nor was there one for drying hair near the mirror . The tv was in a strange position which made it awkward to watch from the bed . The bed mattress was worn out and very uncomfortable we got very little sleep . The plumbing was also very noisy and disturbing. Overall we were disappointed with our stay !

Food was outstanding staff very friendly the room was small but had everything we needed
The only fault was the plumbing ing the room was very noisy and you could hear upstairs walking around flushing the loo taking a shower but apart from that very nice

Small issue about check out times - it says 10.30-11, but was asked to leave at 10.30.

Nice place to stay friendly staff. Obviously family run really nice family. Food was really nice and homemade deserts so nice. Very clean and room had balcony’s just a nice place.
Bed mattress had dip in middle so was very snuggled up. And just every time next door room flushed loo or ran bath noisy pipes.

Lovely staff, great pub downstairs - good prices too! Plenty of parking, great view, good location, and amazing cookies.

My mum is 93 and uses a Rollator. Room No 6 was perfect for her as it is on the Ground Level and although compact there was enough room to move around in. Easy access to Restaurant & Bar facilities on the same level. If you want a walk in shower though this is not the room for you as the shower is over the bath but we did not have that requirement so that was fine. Water pressure was great. Small table and chairs outside room perfect for morning coffee and biscuits from coffee making facilities in the room. Room was also very quiet. Wi-Fi excellent which was important for me as I had a Zoom webinar to attend whilst there. Food was excellent pub food and we ate there every night during our 3 night stay. NB you need to order your food by 8pm. All staff brilliant, welcoming and very hard working despite having a well earned day off at the Ripon races.
Blackout linings would have been a good idea as room got very light in morning. Take an eye mask if this concerns you.

Location
I would like to make a complaint, with booking.com not the chequers inn. My booking said room with a balcony and garden views, no balcony and a view if a car park, this was a treat for my partners birthday, such a disappointment, also on your emails breakfast was £10.50, we were charged £12.50, so I would like to be reimbursed the extra £12 we had to.pay, please could someone contact me 07791 808376, as I also have some photos I wou6lile to show of the room. Thanks tracy Anstey
