Staff was exceptionally hospitable. They went above and beyond to make us feel at home.

The best hotel experience both of us has ever had.
The room was huge and the futon beds were very comfortable, the staff were incredibly helpful and kind. We will definitely return here in our next trip to Kyoto.

The traditional Japanese breakfast, the staff, the room itself, the origami they put on our pillow, the way the stuff say goodbye to you, the onsen was super clean and cozy

We loved the beautiful and neat traditional Japanese style interior and exterior design, from the wallpaper to the tatami floors. The staff was friendly and kind, extremely sweet and respectful! We were taken to a waiting room for check in and given matcha tea and sweets when we arrived. As we left, they held up a sign wishing us well and seeing us off. We were all so well taken care of! The traditional Japanese breakfast was served in our rooms and the presentation, quantity, and taste were very well worth it! The staff was able to accommodate vegetarian diets for breakfast as well. I'm so happy we chose this amazing place!
I'm having trouble naming anything I didn't like.

We loved it all- the Japanese breakfast every morning (amazing), ideal location, lots to do right outside the door, so comfortable and clean, such friendly staff. Fun and thoughtful little surprises. Highly recommend.

Love the staff. When we arrived, they first greeted us with tea and snack and explained the facility. Always greeted us with smiles, showed us maps, advised us about the best way /places to travel, and gave us ice-cold drinks and fans when we went on our day excursions. The Ryokan itself was wonderful, but the staff made our stay extra special.
No complaints. They were wonderful.

Location, atmosphere, service, food, onsen
We stayed 4 nights
Loved the breakfast - great way to start the day, fantastic wine list, spacious rooms , welcome drink at check-in, green tea service in the room, the futon is a little thin but there are extra futons in the closet so it is easy to add a second or even a third one to make it softer, lovely onsen toiletries set with take home bag, staff extremely helpful with directions and answering questions, held our bags on the last day
Many thoughtful details that made the stay so relaxing and enjoyable
For my son’s 21st birthday dinner, we had kaiseki dinner (must pre-book) in the bamboo garden room (the hotel was so thoughtful and gave him a gift)
The hotel experience really enhanced our stay in Kyoto
HIGHLY recommend this ryokan

Very friendly staff, departing gift of chopsticks when we checked out which was great.
It was great, couldn’t have asked for more.

Bed was nice, onsen was too!
Bad value for money, the rooms are 10,000 yen too expensive... for this accommodation it should cost no more than 15,000 Yen
