The friendliness of our hosts , made it feel like home away from home
There’s nothing not to like, I t’s peaceful, tranquil, private and the hosts go out of their way to make one feel at home

Our stay at this hotel in Zanzibar exceeded all our expectations! The hosts are incredibly kind and welcoming. We arrived almost half a day earlier than planned, but they accommodated us immediately without asking for any extra payment. They provided us with invaluable information about where to go, what to see, and who to contact. Moreover, they gave us the correct prices for local attractions, which helped us avoid overpaying.
The room was simply beyond praise! Wow! It was not only cozy but also spacious, clean, and well-equipped. The hotel grounds are stunningly beautiful, with comfortable loungers, tables, and sofas. Everything is spotless and aesthetically pleasing. The beach is literally just a few steps from the hotel. You only need to take three steps to be in the sea. The pool is open 24/7, adding to the convenience and enjoyment of our stay.
The breakfasts at the hotel are a highlight. They are homemade, very generous, and incredibly delicious. Guests can choose from a variety of options, including English, American, and three other delightful choices. All in all, everything about this place is done with care and attention to detail, making it wonderfully cozy and inviting.
Highly recommended!

I chose the Game Fish Lodge after reading carefully all reviews. As other review says, it was a great lodge with hospitality. They helped us to organise our activities providing us with local information. I also liked a lot their breakfast - fruits, crapes, and main breakfast. The internet stability is good. We enjoyed having breakfast looking very beautiful ocen.
We didn't have anything we didn't like.

We want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Lesley and Collin for the most perfect week. We arrived as guests in their beautiful lodge and have left with life long friends.
The location is fantastic to explore the island, the food is just delicious. They think about everyone’s every needs and help you in every way they can.
Thank you for everything, we highly recommend going and we’ll be back! ♥️
Nothing!!! Just leaving!

A small yet good hotel. The owner Lesly and her husband were great hosts. They made the best food we had on our trip to Zanzibar. They offered great info and help in planning our trip. The Hotel is located in Nungwi which is a great area for swimming and snorkeling.
No "Shattaf" in the bathroom, and No sandy beach so you have to go down to the sea by the steps as there is a small cliff ( which is common in many areas in Zanzibar) .. Overall hotel was OK from a facilities point of view. If you are looking for a fancy hotel this is not for you.

We had the pleasure to spend six nights with Colin and Lesley and had such a great time. super nice location in Nungwi. perfect for the peace and quiet we wanted. The food was great and we just felt so relaxed just being there.
If you want a five star all inclusive hotel this is not for you but if you wanna feel like a home Ana’s from home this is the place to be in Zanzibar.

The owners made our stay unique and make us feel like home. Also the location is great! located in the quiet part.

The pool and view
This property was still under construction - on one side a 7 person apartment and on the other a 3 storey restaurant seating 75/100 people. The lodge is in need of some renovation. Honesty bar under lock and key with CCTV above in case you took something without recording it in the book.
We had hoped to be eating with fellow guests to get the "homely" feel as described by owners, but it was just us and the paraffin lamps. Food was good but overpriced at $20 each for a one course meal and $25 for a bottle of white wine.
On leaving the lodge it was implied we had "taken" two teaspoons. When they were found, no apology, no goodbye. Thank goodness for the super hotel next door with great facilities and a welcome sign (at very much the same price as Game Fish Lodge)

Colin and Lesley are so friendly. Everyday feels like a present. They always present you with an excellent breakfast. And the diner cooked by Colin and Lesley are like a chefs diner. We were only there for three days and wished that we had booked a longer stay. We enjoyed staying there with other guest. Enjoyed the evenings and the sundowner.
If you enjoy more an all inclusive hotel with all the thinks that come with it don’t go here and book a 5 star hotel in Nungwi. If you like to
be treated as family and open your self for it you will have a perfect stay.

Very calm, quiet area, the beach part is hardly visited. The staff is very nice, the location is very calm with a freshly prepared breakfast every day. Fantastic view of the sea, clean pool, comfortable lounge chairs.

This hotel is on the quieter side of Nungwi and has a spectacular view of the sea. There was a sandbank near by, which was nice to walk to during low tide. Very nice pool overlooking the sea. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a warm shower and a sea view. The room was very clean. The breakfast was incredible, the best we had in Tanzania. The owners, Colin and Lesley are lovely people, super welcoming and always willing to help. We had a seafood Christmas meal they made that was epic, best seafood meal ever!
This is not a fancy place with cocktails by the pool, but it is homely, quiet and comfortable. We Will book here again if we ever return.

the owners were so nice they give us a lot of informations ans recommendations, and were helpful in so many ways, the location is great very calm but not so far from nungwi, there's a wonderful sandbank nearby where you can swim all alone, breakfast was so tasty freshly made.

We have totally enjoyed our stay in Game Fish Lodge!
Everything was perfect, including great breakfast and tuna for a dinnner! Silent place with comfortable rooms and seaview.
Will stay here for sure in our next trip to Zanzibar!

The breakfast was massive and one of the tastiest breakfasts and dinners I have had. The owners are very personable and greet you by your first name every morning when they greet you and make breakfast. The resort is very quiet, private, and safe. The owners offered lots of suggestions to our questions which helped us select certain activities we enjoyed. The dinners are amazing value with insane flavours and quantity. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

The food was very good, big breakfast, fresh ingredients, big portions for dinner. Lesley, one of the owners was very kind and is a lovely person, trying to give us nice time at the lodge.
Beware of the male owner Colin! This man becomes angry very fast. He started to scream, verbally attacked us and wanted to kick us out of the lodge. If something doesn't go his way, he immediately looses his temper. We are very experienced travelers and never ever had a situation like this before! This incident really spoiled our vacation a lot.

Wonderful lodge managed by a lovely couple: Colin and Leslie. They really care about every host, and immediately make you feel at home
The facilities are comfortable and cozy but not excessively luxurious, just like a proper trip to Africa should be. Rooms are clean with direct view on the beautiful sea. With only 5 rooms available, the privacy and the quiet of the lodge stand out
The position is great: direct access to a hidden, wonderful beach, and 20min walk (through an historic village) to the nightlife of Nungwi
The food is amazing: breakfast is fresh and plenty and dinner consists of catch of the day. Large portions for small prices
To summarize, I’d strongly recommend Game Fish Lodge to anyone looking for a lovely, quiet lodge with a “family-like” feeling in the beautiful Nungwi
The water in the pool could be warmer :)

It has a wonderful setting on the beach away from the crowds.
The owners are hands on a involved which was great.
The pool overlooking the ocean was great!
The walk to the sandbank for sunrise was memorable.
it could be considered a bit far from the real action of Nungwi if that’s what you go for.

The hospitality at Game Fishodge was outstanding! We were treated like family from the moment we arrived and nothing was too much trouble. Colin and Leslie recommended great places for us to eat and visit and introduced us to piki pikis - the best way of getting around. The location was perfect and it was so hard to say goodbye. I will definitely go back and highly recommend Game Fish for a great experience.

Game Fish is on the quieter side of Nungwi away from the more touristy areas which makes it ideal for anyone seeking a quiet getaway. Other parts of Nungwi are also not too far to explore. Above all, the hosts made the experience even more memorable.

My girlfriend and I stayed here 10 days. The Game fish lodge is a quiet and relaxing place, where you can regenerate from tiredness with the positivity that you breathe in the air. The breakfast, lunch and dinner are excellent, of quality. The professionalism, courtesy and cooking of the owners, Colin and Lesley, two nice people, pleasant and truly great on a human level, will accompany you throughout your stay. We will miss you so much. Erik and Eleonora

The absolute best thing about this place is Colin and Leslie the delightful owners. They immediately treat you like family and they’re just good, genuine people.
The lodge itself has everything you need and feels like a hidden little quiet corner of paradise. The air-conditioning works great and there was always plenty of hot water.
You MUST sign up to have Colin make you dinner! I had the best tunafish I’ve ever eaten in my entire life. breakfast was a multi course experience and I don’t know how we’re ever going to top of the food here.
If all you’re after is a place to lay all day on the beach and have a waiter bring you piña coladas, then this isn’t going to be the property for you.

Staff: Collins & Leslie were awesome hosts. They took real care of us & they'll help you out with anything & will also give you genuine guidance.
Location: Superb! The views from the property are out of this world. The sand banks near the GFL are literally heaven on earth.
Food: Super delicious & full. They actually make food with love. The complimentary breakfast is excellent & should try all items especially Leslie's chips :-) & of course Collin's grill items.
Pool: Again superb. Almost infinity pool, just beside the beach. Lovely place to hang around.
Privacy: Privacy is very good, restricted access & safe.
We extended our stay by another day.
And TBH we also spent almost two full days just in the GFL to relax & unwind.
We really didnt want to leave the place.
Actually. nothing much to mention here.
May be the WiFi speed can be a bit better.(Collins.. we had to think hard to find something) :-)

i was looking for a quite place in the north part of Zanzibar and i found the heaven itself.
first of all Colin and Lesley are the most amazing host i met. in a few second they become our best friends. their hospitality is way and beyond.
they have 6 room in the lodge. big and comfortable rooms, huge bed , huge shower. everything is super clean. the towels are big and soft. and the view from all the rooms is outstanding - the turquoise ocean.
the lodge is suited on the cost, on the west part of Nungwi.
and the food....oh my god. we ate almost all our meal at the lodge because it was amazing.
Colin is the chef and he so generous with the food that you enjoy every bite on and on and on.
in the morning he is going out to the sea to catch the fish for the dinner.( he is a professional fisher.)
whatever we need both Lesley and Colin help us. they where amazing!!!
I am planing to come back with my husband for sure.

As soon as you enter the gate , there is a different harmony. The room is perfect for every need and from the door there is a straight path to the beach and you can see the amazing ocean. The owners take care of you like family, and they give you real suggestions on what to do. Amazing breakfast that you don’t want to leave the table. I can’t wait to go back !
Nothing to say, all was amazing.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts and dinners were delicious and very filling. The view from the pool and eating area was amazing
The rooms are very far from the ocean, you do not get a proper ocean view from them. The wifi was very slow and would disconnect intermittently. I ended up having to go to a nearby 5 star hotel to use their wifi

A typical lodge atmosphere with beautiful decoration, wonderful views and welcomed seclusion! Leslie and Collin are wonderful hosts, the breakfast is delicious, with amazing sea views, as well as the sumptuous, oil-lamp lit dinner! The pancakes Leslie makes are amazing, the coffee and the fresh juice ware a treat! The pool is very refreshing in the day's heat and large enough to allow some swimming. In the evening the pool is alighted beautifully. The bed was the most comfortable we had on the island, the room and the bathroom are spacious and beautiful. The AC worked flawlessly. The local beach offers solitude, turquoise water and a clean typical white coral sand. I will recommend it wholeheartedly to all my friends!
We couldn't find any flaws.
