Friendly, attentive, and fun staff! Becca, the property manager, was extremely helpful and organized. I received detailed info before the trip not only about our stay at Blue Bahia but about regulations and travel to Roatan, in general. Plus, she relayed tips and advice for daily events on the island. Staff was always available in person or even via WhatsApp with quick responses to my many questions. The kitchen team was super accommodating with my son's food allergies! I'm so grateful! Resort was lovely! We enjoyed a terrific stay!

The set up was somewhat interesting jungle type feeling
After 10 pm gates completely close to get in , no notice on gate to call security to let us in

Great location, great restaurant and fantastic on site dive shop
Bugs - but bugs are literally everywhere on Roatan, even the most expensive places.

the staff is the most exceptional. from the managers of the property to the waiters and other staff

Very relaxed, very friendly and helpful staff!! Good communication. Nice breakfast options and restaurant!
6.0
the owners, the size of the bed and the beach area
the daily resort fee - not sure what we got for that, the room was rustic, the pool water was cloudy, so didn’t use it.

We stayed in Studio 2, one of 2 units over the restaurant. It has a huge deck overlooking the bay, with a gorgeous view, comfortable outdoor furniture, and a grill. That deck was *everything*. You do get a bit of cooking aroma with the location, but we didn't find it to be intrusive. We were also never once bothered by noise from the restaurant, which closes at 10 anyway. The windows are well soundproofed. The bed was very comfortable. We like a fairly firm mattress. Air conditioning, which we didn't need much, worked well. Plenty of water pressure.
We stopped at Eldon's on the way from the airport and got food to cook a couple of meals a day, then went out for dinners. The Blue Bahia Grill had excellent, nonfussy food, and a very welcoming staff. Their mojitos were quite good, and lobster nights on Wednesday are a total win. The kitchenette in our room was smallish on counterspace but absolutely well equipped for our needs.
The area is quite different from the West End. It is peaceful and quiet. There's another hotel restaurant just about 150 feet down the beach. It's about a 8-10 minute cab to get to the West End if you get the itch for other restaurants.
The in-house scuba dive shop, Sandy Bay Divers, was great. We dove at least 2x/day every day. They have good new gear and great boats. We never had more than 6 divers, not counting the divemaster, on our boat, and boat rides weren't long to the dive sites.
Everything was very well maintained. The kind lady who cleaned our rooms was like a ray of sunshine. We even came back from one of our dives to find that she had peeled and cut up our whole pineapple for us!
We definitely expect to stay here again. It was the perfect balance of nice but not fussy, lovely and quiet and functional and sooo relaxing.

The condo is super cozy and well decorated, you can easily tell that the owner has nice taste and good sense of color. The kitchen is equipped with all the kitchen appliances and utensils you may need. The beds are also comfortable. Becca, Adam and Carlos went extra mile to make us feel like being at home. Definitely the resort you won’t be disappointed. Highly recommend.

We spent 5 nights at Blue Bahia and it absolutely exceeded our expectations. It's a beautiful little oasis with the most friendly and helpful staff. If we needed help with rides to West Bay/West End they assisted, they texted us daily specials and happenings in Roatan through what's app, they passed by our rooms to make sure we had what we needed and if we didn't they got it for us like extra swimming or bath towels or extra ice. The restaurant onsite had the best baleadas that we had pretty much every morning and they also cooked up the tuna that my nephew caught while on his deep sea fishing excursion for a very low price they cooked and plated it with some veggies and rice. Overall the food and drinks at the restaurant were excellent as well as the accommodations. The rooms were clean, just the right size for our family of three and the AC was excellent (even got a little too cold one night). We stayed in the tortugas room with a king size and queen size bed. The door to our room was directly in front of the pool so it was perfect for night time swims after our daily excursions. One of our excursions was a scuba dive/snorkel and it was taken directly from the resort so that was also pretty cool. If you are a diver this is an excellent location. I've never in my life seen a reef more beautiful. Overall we loved our stay!
Absolutely the only negative and it really has nothing to do with Blue Bahia is our rides back and forth to West End/West Bay did cost us about $20-$25 each way (cash only) so it did add up a bit since we went there a few days during our stay. The beach at Sandy Bay is not really a swimmable beach and we had young children with us that wanted to enjoy the beach but since the cost of Blue Bahia was so reasonable it really was fine in the end.

Everything! Kim was an amazing host and so helpful. The hotel staff was wonderful. They accommodated our requests, help us get around the island and discover things to do. The property was clean and convenient. Great spot for scuba diving and next door to dolphin encounters. The beds were comfortable, the AC in our room was wonderful, the service was great, the bedrooms were roomy and pretty, the decoration and design was inviting. Loved everything about Blue Bahia.
As far as location, we had to take daily rides to West Bay beach for swimming..
Other than that, there was only one staff member at the restaurant on the property that was not up to par- made our mornings a bit frustrating- slow service, less than cordial, and always forgot orders. But, the restaurant is a separate owner and separate staff.

Great dinner at their restaurant and incredible customer service.

The restaurant food was delicious, especially the red snapper meal! My family also enjoyed the French toast and omelettes for breakfast.
The unexpected welcome drink was a pleasant surprise.
It is a seclusive boutique resort, so great for relaxation and quiet, but not if you want to be in the mix of everything.

neighbors outside of the property seemed to have a large gathering with loud music past midnight.

What was not to like😁
Josh and Kim were great hosts. Very welcoming and answered all questions we had. The staff on premises were very personable. They have a great bar and restaurant on site. The pool was well maintained. The room was everything and more.
Had a very memorable 60th birthday. Thank you again Jose for your security.
distance to the reef for snorkeling However, very doable if you enjoy swimming a bit. Once there just beautiful.
