Bien, en general.
Tenia ventilador, aunque hacia muchísima calor en la habitación.
No tenían secador.
La ubicación está alejada del centro, estuvimos solo 1 dia de pasada y no acabamos de saber si era buena zona o no...

The gentleman who checked us in seemed nice.
1. The front door requires a key to leave. Dangerous if there was a fire as you can’t easily get out.
2. Price quoted in USD but payment taken in soles. Hostel determines their own exchange rate, which doesn’t appear to have any relation to global exchange rates, meaning the property cost us £6 more than expected. Had we known, we wouldn’t have booked.
3. There was a hair on the sink which wasn’t ours and definitely wasn’t from someone’s head.
4. The shower was dangerous and kept tripping, meaning the hot water would go off and the lights would flicker.
5. Pillows were stained.
6. Breakfast very average.
7. Hostel seem to overcharge for services. Looking at other reviews, we should have realised this but as we weren’t booking a tour through them we didn’t think it would matter. This was until we were quoted 70 soles to go to the airport the evening before we needed it - 20 more than they told us the day before (it’s about a 20 min journey). The hostel will say this is because of the time of day - this is untrue, as when we checked in we said it needed to be 5am and specifically asked whether any transport was available at that time in the morning. The guy said at that time in the morning, it was ‘safer’ to book with them for 50 soles. When I was unhappy with this and say ‘I feel that you’re taking advantage of us’, a lady from the hostel proceeded to scream at me and insult me for 10 minutes, that it was her house etc., that I was no lady and even told my boyfriend to reconsider his relationship with me. It was absolutely insane and after reading other reviews afterwards, seems to be a common reaction when guests realise they have been massively overcharged. I can anticipate the hostels response to this to save grace - but she went completely over the top and took it way too far. I was ordered to ‘apologise’ in front of her family for daring to speak to her this way (I.e.

Karin is really great and nice person. Hostel is small and cozy with a wonderful view of the moon from the terrace.

Great place, away from the loud street, room service, kitchen at your disposal, nice terrace with the possibility of total chill, comfortable beds. The hosts were very helpful, we felt very taken care of. I definitely recommend this place. :) :) :)

really lovely family run hostel with a beautiful terrace, we enjoyed our stay there!

Karina made everything easy during our stay and she suggested to visit the main attractions in the area
The neighborhood is too noisy.

Super friendly staff and nice common areas to socialize with fellow travelers!

The hostel is a small house, but it has almost everything you will need during your trip to Iquitos. The room was cozy, clean and quiet, the bathroom was also well-equipped. The TV had access to Netflix, so it was easy to watch a nice movie. Regarding the breakfast, it was fair and had a nice presentation.
The location is not the best, so taking a tuk tuk became expensive. It's not in the city centre. If you don't have problems with walking a bit, great.

Owners were incredible helpfull and friendly. They helped us a lot to fing perfect jungle tour.
Kitchen is very well equipped here.
And rooftops is the best. You can relax in a hammack or party with some international travellers. And amazonian sunsets are just amazing as well.

The host (very well English-speaking! ) was very nice and helpful.
The terrace and kitchen area is very much comfortable and has everything to chill. If you would imagine this place somewhere else it would have been perfect.
Right now there is massive construction going on right in front of the accomodation. Unfortunately you cannot chill between 8am and 7pm - it is so loud you don't even understand the person next to you. We asked the host for a reduction since we didn't know about what was going on but they refused - too bad!
You have to be aware that this place is in the middle of the slums and you definitely need a Tuktuk to get into the main part (around 3-5 soles)
HONEST ADVICE: skip Iquitos - it is not nice at all!!!!! It is loud (many tuktuks and too many people), massive dirty.

It is super clean and the bed is very comfy. iThe Terrance at the roof is super nice.
The kitchen is very nice, as the vegetarian, there is not much choice in Iquitos, appreciate able to cook.
There have some shop near the hotel that can buy the ingredients. And it is very close to the square.
Thank you Carolina to help plan the trip in the city.
Thank you for the arrange taxi at the airport ( with extra money) and all the penitent on what’s app communication.
Thank you for the wonderful breakfast. Try the vegetarian one, love the fruit mix, it was fantastic.
The jungle trip is wonderful, must need to try. It is once in the life time experience.
Thank you for the Wi-Fi.
If I go back to Iquitos again, will stay here again.

We were welcomed by Karina, who is the very bubbly and friendly owner of Amazon House. We wanted to do the Amazon tour but weren’t sure how many days because the activities you did on the tour depended on how many days you were going. Karina arranged the extra activity to go to The Monkey Island which is normally not in the itinerary so that was great! Furthermore did she also give us many tips regarding restaurants, other activities and transport.
TIP for Amazon House: everybody loved the Monkey Island so definitely an activity to consider putting into the usual itinerary;)
The room was also very clean at the apartment and we had AC to cover the heat.
Because we did the tour with the overnights and the arrangement of Monkey Island, we weren’t able to get a discount on our room in the Amazon house..
The tour itself was quite fun. However there were some activities mentioned on the program that didn’t take place due to dry season. it would’ve been nice to be informed about this. ;)
Also the cabins in the Amazon were more basic than we expected, as the pictures they showed us were different from the cabins we eventually got.
Our guide Raoul was a good guy and could speak English which was great as wel!

The owner, Karina, was so kind and welcoming. She truly made us feel like part of the family and I would happily stay here again!

The Amazon house is run by a family. They are all really nice and helpful. The tours they offer are safe and we could even change the program to our liking.
nothing at all

Local hostal with comfortable roof terrace with hammocks, and very friendly owners. The rooms are simple but comfortable, in the end, it is what I had expected for what I had paid.
It´s a bit from the centre, and expected a better breakfast (even though they have the options to upgrade your breakfast).

Quite a distance from the Center of town, otherwise great value for money

managed by a friendly and helpful family, comfortable clean rooms, great breakfast
a few restaurants down the road we’re playing really loud music, especially on Saturday night, I feel this would be an issue in any hostel in the city, and often peru….. bring some good ear plugs

Nice quiet place just a 10 minute tuk-tuk ride into town but a world away from the noise.the hosts were brilliant

One of the best staying. Staff is so nice. Hospitality is on such high level. Rooms are so cosy and beautiful. And clean. And what I loved the most was a huge kitchen and well equipped. And such a beautiful common on the roof top. That was one of my favorite places. It was such an amazing stay in this hostel. Such a beautiful and cosy experience. 👏 This is the best place to chill and enjoy, therefore, I recommend to stay slightly longer than one night.. it's fantastic.. the whole atmosphere. And the views are really nice!! 👌
We were staying for one night (Sunday night - Monday morning). The neighborhors were playing such loud music in the middle of the nights. From 1 am to 5 am, so it was difficult to sleep even with the ear plugs. Probably I'd talk to neighbors to consider the fact that this hostel is hosting people that need a good rest and quality sleep during the night. As for the hostel, all the rest was extremely well organized. And as I said, it was the best stay I experienced in whole Peru. 👌

friendly and helpful staff
i had the impression that the hostel is profit orientated and the hostel jungle tours are quiet expensive compared with others. the Laundry service was not available when i asked. itwas very loud there on many days

Karin is a super nice great host, who makes lovely breakfast and adapts everything so that you have a perfect stay. It's not in the center, but in a quiet safe neighboor-hood. I felt safe there and you have everything you need. If you don't know what to do, just ask Karin she know all things to do and is always happy to help out and even send you whatsapp messages to make the best out of your stay. She is a little jem.

In 6 months of travelling this was the best hostel I’ve been too.
Karyna is the kindest women I’ve met in a long time. Her family are such beautiful people and they give everything to make you feel comfortable.
Stay here, get to know their wonderful family and I assure you you will not regret it.

The common area is nice, the kitchen as well (oven doesn't work though). The laundry service is crazy expensive but I've never got such well smelling clothes back (they give it to an external laundry and charge extra fees for that)
Worst hostel experience in 9 months traveling.
When we checked in they told us our room has air conditioning - for 30S. extra. Neverminding we talked to the only other guest we've met. Not having checked the price online, they charged him double the price for the same dorm (40S.).
Washing clothes 10S./Kg. Breakfast 15S. Leaving your backpacks when you're on a trip: 10S./day. Water 7S./2,25L, (and Mototaxi to the center 3S./one-way).
We figured this is just a business, not a place where you find the spirit of a hostel family. But until then it was still okay.
The building, rooms and kitchen are actually quite nice. There you can't bring your friends though, neither can they stand outside waiting for you and use the WiFi. The host cut the connection and changed the password more than one time during our 3 days stay, because 'they are not an internet Café'. The WiFi is weak btw. The woman working there dragged more than one time different guests to the kitchen to clear who left a fork in the sink, who used the oil without asking or who touched the volume button of the radio. After dealing with them as living with our grandparents I pointed out that how they treat the guests is beyond normal. For changing the volume of a very public accessable radio she expected us to go three levels downstairs with our keys, get out of the house next door to find her and ask to come back with us to do it. My lack of understanding their reasoning and loss of patience - to be honest - led to them to kicking me out immediately out of the discussion without refund. They also charged us twice one night but the owner of the hostel just pointed the finger to my boyfriend and said 'it's his fault, not mine'.
The staff has a friendly face first but they are very 'business oriented' and give the hostel quite an uncomfortable vibe.
6.3
Reasonable price and a nice simple breakfast (bread and egg).
We booked a 3 day tour to the jungle with them. It was just an (expensive) tourist trap. There were some Nice things, but it was not a jungle experience.
