The location is stunning and within easy reach of Alton Towers
The room was extremely tired and dated although the bedding was clean.
There was an awful lot of mould in and around the shower which was completely disgusting and unacceptable. I reported this to staff but they didn’t seem to be in the slightest bit concerned or apologetic.

Was made to feel so welcome such a lovely little place very comfortable

The building was very rustic and just stunning from the outside and inside. The staff were lovely too. Margaret (the owner) was such a nice lady and we enjoyed her company down stairs in the bar. The pool table was nothing like we had ever seen before as it was a hexagon shape making it a challenge as you can not play the same way you normally would on a regular table (doubling was tough). The bar was reasonably priced and the stoned walls there were very pleasing to the eye. There was a lovely big fire in the bar which heated up the full place rather fast. We picked this place to stay after realising how close to Alton Towers it was, it didn't disappoint, we paid only £6 for an Uber to take us to the entrance. The room was very clean and tidy. The sheets were clean and smelled so fresh. There was hand soap provided in the bathroom along with a body wash in the shower. The pressure wasnt very strong in the shower although the temperature was nice and toasty the way I like it. I really can not fault this stay and can't wait until we can return! The restaurant had a good "Pub grub" menu and the double chicken burger was lovely 100% recommend to try it if your going!
The only thing we could fault this stay on was the central heating wasn't working much (the radiator wasnt completely cold) but it wasnt warm enough to heat the room however the staff had already sorted that out by providing an electrical oil heater in the room prior to our arrival which worked very fast in heating the room up.

Great location, atmosphere, food and the property was a traditional homely inn.

Excellent "home cooked" food and friendly staff. Quiet location and great for using as a base to explore the local area.
Bunk bed was a little creaky, but that is about it.
4.2
The bed was the worse thing I've ever tried to sleep on, not good after driving for 6 hrs. Walls were paper thin

Great location and nice and quiet. Only a 5 minute drive to Alton Towers resort if visiting there. We ordered food both nights and had breakfast and all times was of good quality.

Friendly and helpful staff, good selection of drinks, great food options, cozy atmosphere.

Margaret the owner was amazing host and so welcoming we had the best time, breakfast was very tasty and evening entertainment for both adults and children with pool table and darts was excellent. My son left his charger and Margaret went out of her way to return this by post to us, simply the best 5 stars ⭐️

The hosts were very friendly and accommodating and the rooms were comfortable and it was also right by the Alton towers theme park.

Cute village pub setting very close to Alton Towers resort. Mixture of rooms in the pub, chalets and campers on site. Clean rooms, well aired and comfortable bed.
4.2
Location perfect for alton towers.
Beautiful surroundings, friendly staff. Clean rooms. Traditional bar area with fairly priced drinks and pool table and darts board.
Outdoor green area/beer garden
Could do with some modernisation. Shower either scalding or freezing cold.
Beds a little creaky.
Could do with some play equipment outdoors for children.
4.2
Friendly staff and fab views, close to alton towers
Rooms very basic and very small tv not great for larger families

turned up at 4pm and property locked up but quickly found owners number for access . no WiFi

It was very close to alton towers. It was very clean and the staff were very kind. The accommodation we had was outside in its own building, which was very nice. Its a lovely old fashioned pub with lovely food.
The beer barrel could of done with changing but thats about it.
4.2
Great atmosphere, lovely people running the place, tasty meals. Alton Towers under 10min drive.
Understanding the building is old fashion, but rooms could be better sound proofed. Going to bed heard every conversation in the bar area until it was shut, I believe we were right above it.

Beautiful countryside, very close to Alton Towers!
The reviews don’t seem to be accurate, so expectations were not met.

the property has a very homely and relax vibe with open fire and a lovely bar and brilliant food option all home made staff are friendly and make you feel very welcome
nothing we have stayed a few times and don’t have a bad word to say about the pub or staff

Lacotion to Theme park Alton Towers. Location as for getting to local supermarket 6min drive. Food served from 7pm. Breakfast 8am. Lovely staff. Clean bedroom. Small pub with few rooms upstairs.. beautiful drive countryside. Rustic. Dinner on Friday was lively.
Mattress. When warm at night, it felt wet and uncomfortable. Small bedroom, overpriced. When booked, I thought I would have a double and children bunk bed. I had to share a double bed.
Loud. Our room was what felt above a untilty room. Metal bucket dropped on concrete floor. Shovelling, eg, coal? Scraping something of the floor. Friday night. It was so loud as if in the same room. I think it was something to do with a fireplace. Not working poole table. There is no sufficient light to play darts.
Room on the roadside. When the motorbike drove past room shook.

Brilliant Location for Alton towers resort being only 10 mins drive.
Lovely old sandstone privately owned pud.
The room we stayed in was starting to look a bit tired, but not bad.
4.2
Very welcoming, comfortable and very well kept. Tasty food and reasonable priced drinks. Beds were warm and comfortable, shower was good and breakfast was very filling. The inn is only 10 minutes away in the car from Alton towers so ideal place to stay to get to the park early
4.2
Good location for trip in Alton Tower and the staff is friendly.
Poor cleaning, lots spider in the room and the place no like cleaner.
4.2
Staff were very friendly and understanding towards our autistic son.
Dinner was lovely. Breakfast was good, choice of cereal fruit, toast jams etc.
Pub was lovely and cosy.
stayed in one of the chalets which was lovely comfortable for one night maybe a couple, a little of a squeeze with 5beds in one room but was just what we was looking for!!
4.2
Very warm welcome friendly staff. The room was cosy with a TV on the wall, tea and coffee making facilities and it was very clean
Shower was really slow, needs a new shower curtain. The bed and pillows were firm. Mix matched furniture. I didn't have breakfast because I usually only eat cereal and wasn't going to pay almost £10 for it. The fish and chips were frozen ones and the fish tasted a bit weird. Would have been better with a menu online and options to pay for different things for breakfast
4.2
It was a traditional built building with beams and interesting. The beds were comfy. The owner was helpful and friendly.
The room was small due to the build and was stuffy as only a small window. A fan woul have bee good.
