The villa owners are the kindest people! When we had ants in our room (due to heavy rain so not the villa’s fault), they swiftly moved us to a new room. They also offered great tips and were overall very sweet.

From the moment you pull, the owners make you feel like welcome guests. Amazing combination of comfort, privacy and scenic views. Having a full kitchen was a huge bonus for us (and the kitchen has all the equipment you need for cooking a meal). Virginia and Ken (the owners) are super hosts.
If we are ever back in San Ignacio area, we will not even look for a different accommodation, unless Villa Cayo is all booked out.
Highly recommend with one caveat - you need to be travelling with a car to fully enjoy your stay at Villa Cayo.

The villa was immaculate and the views were spectacular. The full kitchen was a definite plus and the unit was tastefully decorated. We had everything we needed and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We will be booking again.
We purchased the transportation package for $510 but with all the tour packages, transportation is factored into the cost, so you rarely use the transportation set up in the package deal. The cost is $120 to and from the airport and we only used the transportation provided on 5 occasions over a 10-day period ($20 round trip into town). If we didn’t have their transportation package, we would have saved $170.00. We made a trip to another town to pick up a cell phone that was left behind and were told it was not covered under the transportation plan, even though we hadn’t used it for several days. We ended up paying the extra $50 out of pocket. Just a heads-up to be sure you will be needing their transportation daily.

amazing staff and hosts. terrific location. incredibly helpful and accommodating from first consideration to forgotten luggage shipment.
only two minor items that could have been better. no pool (but I knew that when booking). the second, was for an Alaskan such as myself, I felt the air conditioning unit might have been underpowered.

Breakfast was great. Love the fresh fruit.
Bugs crawling on the walls of the bathroom & on kitchen counter top & the kitchen wall, small holes in the walls.

My room was out of propane when I arrived. But they had it filled as soon as they could.

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Cayo. Virginia, Ken, and their staff provided a beautiful hilltop retreat. They helped us book our daily excursions and you can order breakfasts to be delivered to your room before your outings. We were in Unit 3 and felt we had the small lawn and valley view to ourselves. We would not hesitate to recommend Villa Cayo to friends visiting San Ignacio.

Meticulously clean, modern facility and incredibly well stocked. Small details like RO water, coffee, sugar, as well as fill and plastic wrap made our stay so pleasant.

The view was spectacular from the room, almost 360 view of the nature. We found the bed soft and comfortable. Though not right in town, it was a easy short drive into San Ignacio.
It was not known to us that there were several dogs on the properly. They were all friendly after they calmed down but they met any visitor of the property with lots of barking. The +1,400 sq/ft room includes the outdoor patio which was three times the size of the room. The only shower for the room is outside.
This might be an everywhere thing in Belize, but we were waken either in the morning or from naps from lawn work on the property.

Villa Cayo was a great find! The location was perfect for exploring Mayan ruins, local caves, and various river areas. Virginia was a welcoming host and the property itself was nothing short of amazing, with all of the creature comforts of home (with a few extra creatures because of the location above the canopies of rain forest). While we greatly enjoyed the roof villa, we weren't able to take advantage of some of the amenities. We'd love to come back with a larger group so that we could better take advantage of the space.

The ammenities and comfort
The road up the Hill and the entrance sign not lighted at night. Not much counter space in the bathroom

Without a question this is the best place to stay in San Ignacio/Cayo! Virginia and Kenneth are the most caring hosts. The villa itself is even better than it looks in the photos. The hospitality details is exceptional and the villa itself was such a reprieve. The views are amazing, everything was immaculate and we were even able to cook quite comfortably in the well appointed kitchen. The daily housekeeping and the grounds is just gorgeous.

Virginia and Ken were welcoming and wonderful hosts. The views from the villa exceeded all expectations. Their recommendations were spot on and the puppies made it feel like home.
The taxi rides were a little pricey for the distance travelled.

Absolutely stunning villa! Exactly as it showing on the photos and more! It is on the hill so the views are fantastic! Very nice owners, very attentive, helped us with tours and PCR test. Villa itself was absolutely amazing - everything from bed to kitchen supplies, well positioned and beautifully decorated. You can't add anything - it was simply perfect!
Nothing we didn't like. All perfect!

The views here are absolutely incredible! Villa Cayo is the perfect home base for seeing all that the Cayo District has to offer. The villas are beautifully decorated and have every kitchen amenity you'll need to make yourself at home. Virginia has created a very informative guide of the area and pointed us to some great stops we would have otherwise missed.
We loved everything about Villa Cayo!

This property is incredibly beautiful and peaceful. The room was well furnished, comfortable beds and felt luxurious. It’s situated on a hill and is surrounded by the jungle, thus many birds and beautiful views. The hosts are wonderful, accommodating and have great communication. They helped us plan our days and we enjoyed visiting with them. We LOVED our stay and highly recommend. We had a rental car and got around the area easily. It’s just a great distance from town… out of the hub bub but close to pop in.

Villa Cayo was amazing! We stayed on the rooftop villa which was amazing for sunrises, star gazing, dining outside, etc. The beds were super comfy as well and Virginia (who is the sweetest ever) even had the king bed broken into 2 so that my friend & I could sleep more comfortably. Location is also amazing right on top of a hill in the middle of the jungle but a short 5-10 minute drive to town. Highly recommend!

We stayed in the rooftop villa, which was one of the nicest places we have stayed in 20 years of traveling together. Wonderful views, complete privacy, comfortable furnishings & a good set up to cook if you desire. Woke every morning to the birds calling down the valley - including right outside the window. Most of the space is outside, which could be hot but the breeze was constant and kept it very comfortable & the bedroom has good AC. Little bit outside of town so you need your own transport but local tour companies (owners can recommend or get you set up with good ones) know where to find it so can come pick you up. Great hosts & staff - overall a fabulous place to stay in Cayo/San Ignacio-Santa Elena.

This property should be listed as a Boutique Resort. The views were spectacular. Close proximity to town. Villa had everything you would ever need. The owners and the furbabies were fabulous.
Not a thing.
