Everything

The hotel was a beautiful Manor house with lots of character and felt very comfortable. The decor was a little tired but the house was so lovely it didn't matter. We would definitely stay again. The staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble.
The carpet, leaking bath fitment and the bedside lamp not working.
4.1
It's was very comfy and like home bedroom and bathroom was beautiful
There wasn't anything that I didn't not like
4.1
* Quiet location no noise
* Comfortable room&bed
* Staff helpful
* Breakfast very good & variety choices...
* Large parking area
: Room facilities:
*No waste bin in the hallway or bedroom?
* Couldn't get TV Chanels on TV ? Staff tired to help but couldn't fix the problem?
* Curtain rail broken ( no end caps) when curtains were drawn the curtains came off the end ( Lighter weight curtain required or stronger loops to take weight of curtains) for ease of use !!
Bar area:
Limited drinks selection, ln lagers & wine& brandy not much choice !
General ambiance:
The hotel lacked a bit of atmosphere and the decoration could do with a lively revamp ( a bit plain & dull & cold feel).
External layout:
*Lacking in enough lighting ( very dark )
* Carpark and drop off area to main frontage very muddy and poor surface ( could do with re surfacing in tarmac or hard standing aggregate)
Checking out & Reception:
* When checking out we couldn't find anyone on reception or on the main ground floor to check out and settle our bar bill ?? So left the room key on the reception desk and took a photo as proof !! Later we had a phonecall to ask for the bar bill settlement payment which was made after explaining their was no staff on duty to check us out ? To which the staff member apologised!

Old building with real character and the food was excellent! Staff were superbly helpful and accommodating!
Nothing!

lovely place. great rooms. staff friendly and helpful. very cost effective! Food was fantastic!
4.1
Comfy rooms / food was excellent , especially the curry evening meal!
Couldn’t get out the place in the morning so had to unlock the main door, tried calling mobile on reception 3 times but no answer.
4.1
Evening meal & breakfast were lovely. Twin beds comfy. Room was a bit of a mish mash furniture but it was sweet. Hotel probably due a bit of a re-furbishment, but had lots of character and fixtures, fittings, historic and in keeping. I would stay again. Well priced accommodation. All staff were friendly, professional, authentic.
Didn’t like is strong view. So I’d say nothing.
4.1
Staff were lovely
Shower took 10 minutes to get hot and came out in a dribble. Impossible to temperature control and yoyo’d between boiling and freezing
4.1
Lots of history. Location was very convenient for our purposes.
The bathroom. Both getting on in years and couldn’t use the bath or shower.
4.1
Excellent room attentive staff.
Breakfast good .
Evening meal was not as good as expected. A little overcooked .
4.1
The restaurant was really good, food excellent if a bit overpriced. Staff very good and attentive.
Washing facilities in the room, very poor, plug in basin, not attached, so difficult to remove and release water. Shower totally inefficient, low power and really difficult to adjust temperature of water.

Lovely building and grounds
Wasn't very clean. Tables in the bar area were full of class stains. My room was fine, but colleagues room hadn't been cleaned well.

A lovely country house stay, 16th century house and gardens, maintained well enough and no 'over the top' modernisations to spoil the feel. Very good food, overall great value for money and would definitely stay there again if in the area.
It rained a bit while we were there :-) Otherwise what's not to like?
4.1
Excellent breakfast, each item was perfectly sourced and cooked. top quality :)
The nearby countryside was not very good for walks
4.1
I asked if possible for a quiet room to conduct some work and I was provided with a spacious suite which included a separate office space.
The only negative of my trip was that the sink in the bathroom did not have a plug fitted.
4.1
Comfortable bed
Large room
Breakfast food
Friendly reception staff
Personally don't go for old world furnishings but should have expected this. Toilet looked like it was over a hundred years old.
Two radiators permanently piling out heat in July, no way to turn them off. Breakfast tea and coffee very poor. Large moth in room but ceilings way too high and room too large to try and catch or evict it! TV reception poor, no Sky News.

The hotel is stunning, the setting is gorgeous & the room was beautiful, the lady running the place was fantastically welcome & seemed to be doing everything single handedly! Breakfast was delicious! Bed was very comfortable & the shower was brilliant.
We stayed in The Coach room (possibly coach house) & the noise from the room above was almost unbearable. You could hear absolutely everything - sounded like floorboards or laminate which don't absorb any sound at all. We'd expect a certain level of noise in a hotel but this was beyond. There were also building works going on in the adjoining room, builders arriving at 8am & although they seemed to be being courteous, again, you could hear absolutely everything including several car doors slamming directly outside repeatedly.

Absolutely stunning property in a scenic location.
I stayed here with two friends in the Stafford room, the beds were comfortable, the bathroom modern with a brilliant shower. The staff - particularly Sarah were extremely pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was amazing, I had the eggs Benedict which was delicious and served with French press coffee and a choice of juices etc. I went out for dinner and came back quite late and also realising that I hadn’t checked if they lock up for the evening or there was some other arrangement - I was delighted to see a wonderful little notice advising what door and key to use to get back in. There was wonderful attention to detail throughout.
I had an amazing stay and I will certainly rebook when I’m in the area next.

The staff were very helpful and friendly.

The breakfast was excellent. Good produce used and a range of choices to meet most expectations. The meal was of a high standard altogether with bread and coffee being flavoursome as was the rest of the breakfast.
Service was also excellent both at breakfast and during the evening meal, staff were well informed, friendly and very much as we expected from this standard of hotel. We both had steaks from the evening menu. These were cooked exactly as ordered with the tender beef farmed locally in Herefordshire. Our congratulations to staff and the chef!
We had time to walk around this beautiful and historic building and through its extensive gardens to the lake. Our room, the Garden Room, had lovely views of the front lawns and trees and a comfortable four poster bed.
Altogether, a really lovely experience and we would certainly visit again!
One of the radiators would not switch off in the lobby to the bedroom, but there was plenty of fresh air available and an electric fan on this warm summer evening. Staff assured us that the radiator would be fixed the following day.
~Everything else was truly excellent. The hotel has real character and history that makes the stay memorable.

The full English was excellent and the location was ideal for my Work commute. Unfortunately no Evening meal served on a Monday so I had to visit a local Gastro Pub.
Only issue was that the Hot water took time to present at both the shower and wash basin.

The staff at the manor were friendly and very helpful. Our room was very grand, a good size and comfortable We really enjoyed walking around the beautiful gardens. Breakfast was very good too.
