The gentleman who greeted us and looked after us at dinner was very friendly and efficient
Location in Malham was good
The gentleman who served us at breakfast didn’t look very happy and was the only one serving which was very slow. No-one about when we left.
The cleanliness of the room could have been better and the public toilet in the bar could definitely have been cleaner.
3.5
Good room with excellent shower
While an good room - the facilities, overall ambience and the inattentive / tenseness of some of the staff do not justify the large price - other than the location making it a sellers market

We came with friends for an overnight stay over the bank holiday weekend.
The Inn was ideally placed for what we needed.
We had booked Sunday lunch in advance and the menu stated that Sunday roasts had extra Yorkshire puddings, roasties and gravy. We didn't eat until 6pm and when we enquired were told extras were not available. Having pre-booked we thought they should have been able to cater for this. That said, the food we had was nice and we all enjoyed it.

After a long day hiking it was a pleasure to check in & find our room cosy & warm.
I'd previously read negative reviews about the one member of staff on duty & his slightly unwelcoming demeanour. However, in his defence I subsequently recognised that the poor chap was working like a one-armed paperhanger. When we arrived he was the sole member of staff on duty working a busy bar & attending to guest check in. Consequently, we opted to eat dinner that night at another hostelry in town, which was buzzing with a great atmosphere. I’m glad we did because on our return to the hotel the bar was dead & there were only a few guests in the dining room. The next morning it was once again the same poor individual, taking orders, plating up & serving approximately 10 tables of guests. It crossed my mind that as a chain run hotel they’d cut staff levels to an unacceptable minimum. The proof of the pudding was the number of guests seeking hospitality at the competition in town. Talk about falling on your own sword!

Fantastic location, lovely room, great pub , food and drink.
Struggling to find a fault.

The bed was very comfortable.
Perfect location.
Breakfast could be better. As vegetarians, there was no substitute for egg or bacon. The one sausage was very nice as was the one hash brown. Mushrooms were shrivelled and burnt sadly. There was a dairy alternative milk and as a small person I found the portion size just right.
The cod and chips was excellent but limited choice on menu. Sadly they had no new Zealand sauvingnon at the time.

Very comfy beds. Perfect location for exploring Malham.
Staff at breakfast very inattentive, poor choice of cereal (only two boxes), no bread, waited 20 minutes for our hot order to be taken then decided to leave.

Location was good. Reasonably priced.
Not enough staff to cope with breakfast service. If you arrived towards the end of service you had to ask for breakfast bar to be replenished. We stayed at the same venue several years ago but on this visit were disappointed.

Breakfast available from 8.30am is late for walkers who want to get an early start. Large number of people waiting at 8.30am to access dining room meant a wait to get food.

Great location. Good breakfast. The staff were really nice and helpful but probably not enough of them.
it felt like the place was being run down. They advertise 6 hand pumped beers, non were available. The dining room was cold and half the dinner menu was not available. Our TV had been ripped off the wall and left on the windowsill. Nothing was mentioned when we checked in and it took 24 hrs to fit a TV but we never got a remote control. After installing the TV brick dust was left on the bed, floor and windowsill. Nobody went in to check and it was the end of the day before we could get somebody to clean up.

Very remote if you are not on a walking holiday but hotel nice and warm and plenty hot water Room was clean but a bit small .Food was very disappointing not a lot atmosphere in the bar although staff did their best .
Mainly the food breakfast service was a shambles it hadn't been set up properly and we spent the entire time asking for plates then milk cereal bowl spoons etc
Been trying to get in touch with hotel as we left our dogs bed there No answer to emails and phone number wrong so a bit annoyed about that .Won't rush back

Cleanliness was great, staff very welcoming great value for money nothing great

Lovely old building, nice room, and, comfortable bed.
Nothing in room to indicate breakfast time (although to be fair I think it was mentioned when handed key in bar area) and no real reception area. One poor girl having to do breakfast and then clean rooms virtually at the same time. Chose to eat evening meal at nearby premises which seemed much more welcoming.
