This was our second stay in Ferndale cottage, and it was just as nice as last year. The cottage was comfortable and well-equipped, with an easy and efficient heating system and all facilities were excellent. We may be back again.
The narrow village street can cause minor problems - we were woken one morning by a blast from a big lorry's horn because a neighbour had parked so as to block his way through. Not a major issue!

Loved the cottage and how it was a home away from home. Kids played in the garden whilst I had a coffee by the fire and the washing on and dinner cooking it was so lovely to have a home that felt like home. We played with the games provided, picked apples that had fallen from the apple trees and drank wine in the evening watching Netflix, what more could you want.
Nothing could have been necessarily better with the accommodation it was fab. I understand the price but I wish it was more affordable to stay longer and more frequently, (But obviously cost is relative) and this was a great stay.

Everything. Superb home from home with everything there. Great pub over the road. Parking a bit tight but hey ho. Hosts superb.
Only the pillows but that is personal choice.

Wonderful, clean well presented cottage with lovely outside seating areas. Location is very preaceful and the Kings Arms Inn across the road is very welcoming & serves excellent food. Close to Devon & Dorset coast ( 30 min drive) & plenty of nearby attractions. Countryside walks from the door.
Bed was slightly hard for us but personal choice.

The location was ideal for touring the area. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and met all our needs. The pub across the road was welcoming and the food was excellent. Also nice and quiet location.
S No complaints other than some of the access routes to the village were very narrow but we found Stockland Hill lane on our last day was the best. Our fault!!

We had a great holiday. I loved the cottage, especially enjoyed sitting on the balcony reading my book. We had a wonderful holiday visiting great places near to the area - Seaton, Sidmouth, Lyme Regis, Haynes Motor Museum and the wonderful donkey sanctuary (a must for all the family) The pub over the road is wonderful and so is the Hare and Hounds near Honiton especially for a yummy carvery and massive puddings!! Just loved it all.
I loved it all....but and only a little but....Even tho a quiet road, I didn’t like parking on the road but the pub kindly let me use their car park.

This cottage is fantastic. Everything was just as you would want. All the items and facilities you would need for an excellent short or long stay. We had lovely weather so really enjoyed the garden and the garden furniture including sun loungers. Was perfect for our dogs with a fenced garden. Neighbours were very friendly and an excellent pub accross the road. Lots of lovely walks in the area with all the infomation in the cottage.
Bed was very hard. Suits some people im sure but not me personnally.

Charming cottage and garden in a lovely picturesque village. Had plenty of space and was clean. Thoughtful gift of a cake and bottle of wine left to welcome us.
We had our dog with us but we’re told after booking they didn’t want him leaving alone in the cottage and as we were there the hottest week of the year so far that made going out and doing anything very difficult. Garden not secure so had to watch him all the time.
There is a pub with rooms opposite the cottage. This in itself isn’t a problem as it’s a well run pub with good food and friendly staff but the extractor for the kitchens is directly opposite the bedroom windows so it is noisy as soon as it is switched on for doing breakfasts. Also their fresh food is delivered about 6 a.m. so if you are a light sleeper the banging of van doors and an engine left running wakes you up.

This is a beautiful cottage, well maintained and equipped with everything you could need. I loved the garden with its veranda deck and little bridge over the bubbling stream taking you to the long lawn. Pretty idyllic really especially as we had gorgeous weather. Once I’d sussed the best route into the village ( stick to Stockland Hill!) we found it easy to travel to the coast for some lovely days out. The pub across the road was busy, but we had a great meal and didn’t hear any late night noise from it.
The garden is fenced by post and rail fencing but my boisterous young spaniel could easily have slipped underneath and I was very conscious of the neighbours chicken run!

The garden was lovely, its was clean and fresh and had everything we needed, loved the log fire too. One of the nicest places we've stayed.
The cottage was super cute and I totally loved it but my boyfriend is over 6 foot and banged his head a few times

Beautiful little cottage in a fantastic location lovely walks around and the lemon cake was a bonus with the bottle of wine.
Nothing not to like

Loved our stay in this cosy cottage, the log burner was an added bonus and made it even cosier! The cake, wine and milk was a lovely thought. The pub opposite was nice and close, we had a lovely meal there.
The decking area can get very slippery in the wet, so just be careful!
