Beautiful setting
A little dated, especially the bathroom but super clean and cosy

Had everything we needed
We weren’t sure what building it was when we arrived

The accommodation was warm due to the underfloor heating. The shower was hot.
The bathroom had not been cleaned, there was toothpaste blobs and a razor cover in the sink and a short hair on the toilet seat. The bathmat had hairs on it.
There was no teaspoons, chopping board or sharp knives and one of the 2 dinner plates had a bit chip out of it. The drop leaf door on the shelving unit was sticky.
The outside area which included the washing up area was dirty and unkempt. I had to wash the bowl before I used it and the drainer had bird poo on it. The sponge and scouring brush should be thrown away. Luckily I had brought my own sponge and tea-towel.
There was a divan bed so I could not store my suitcase and under the bed was full of dust an what looked like a sock. There were cobwebs hanging form the ceiling and the the blind was hard to close.
The TV remote needed new batteries so I had to stand right up against the TV to operate it. During the night the standby light started flashing blue and red and I could not get to the plug to turn the TV off.
I did not use the microwave as there was food stuck to the roof and the base under the turntable was very rusty.
A dustpan and brush along with cleaning products would have been useful.
It was such a shame as it could have been an excellent little retreat. I suggest a trip to IKEA, a deep clean and a lick of paint.

It was the weekend of the snow in March, even in the snow the location of the property was lovely and in the summer would be very scenic. Close to a pub/restaurant - didn't use it because of the snow but it wasn't far from the property.
The accommodation is very small. The size of the room wouldn't have been so much of a problem had a little bit of thought been put into the facilities. Having a microwave and fridge in the wardrobe is not ideal and I'm sure would be considered a fire hazard as microwaves need to have space to vent. The only storage/counter was a 60s pantry cupboard with a pull down front, very imposing in the room and not very practical, in fact I'd say a little dangerous as this is where you make hot drinks. Had a handy little table which came down from the wall but was accompanied by 2 big bar stools that were bulky for such a small room, when 2 fold up chairs would have been adequate. The bed was pushed up against the wall, so only one side for access but found that the mattress kept moving off the bed, mattress was exceptionally heavy to move back and believe it had seen better days. There was no where to wash cups or plates other than a very tiny handbasin in the bathroom which was virtually inaccessible. There a small wall immersion for hot water but it never got hot.
The outside had a small decking area with a sort of BBQ and an outdoor sink with cold water, all looked a bit tired but I can see that sitting out on the porch on a summers evening would be nice.
For the price, you didn't expect luxury but it felt like 'it'll do' rather than 'how can we make this more comfortable'. With a bit of thought and money spent on making it more serviceable, it would be a cracking little place to stay for a night or two.

The location was lovely with wonderful scenery. The piggery is quaint & unique.
The underfloor heating was a real treat and the bed was really comfy.
Ideal for walkers or summer use where you aren't in the property much and just need somewhere to rest your head.
The piggery was too small for us, the bathroom was a struggle - using the sink in a confined space.
But in summer it wouldn't be as bad as there are outdoor sinks. If you're looking for simple accommodation this could suit other people.
Little things like the candles were all used, the milk had gone off by the 2nd day and the fridge still had the previous people's dessert in it were more irritating problems. I thought I'd read it had a stove top but that could have been my mistake as we had a microwave.
We never saw any property owner that we didn't approach. We're thankful we were left to our own devices but a welcoming hello wouldn't go amiss.

Fabulous location. Amazing views. Wonderfully friendly and helpful host. Very cosy accommodation. So peaceful. Ate at The Red Lion...Good pub grub. Lovely county walks.
Nothing. The accommodation is exactly as described in the website. It's compact but perfect for an escape to nature for one or two nights.

It was such a lovely little place to stay, very tranquil and beautiful surroundings. We met the owners who were very welcoming and friendly. The village was a short walk to the pubs, local shop and butchers. Would highly recommend for a short break away.

Had a wonderful stay at the Piggery. Had all the facilities we needed as well as some added extra touches: Books, DVDs, BBQ, Fire Pit. These were all welcome additions! Fresh milk was in the fridge upon arrival, as well as full tea and coffee making facilities.
The bed was comfy and the piggery itself was cosy but actually offered a bit more space than we expected! Seating area with drop down table was perfect for meals, and cooking facilities were good: fridge, hob, microwave, toaster, kettle.
The location is excellent, with a shop, pub and restaurant only a short walk away, and the property itself is lovely. We also met some very lovely horses that lived on the property!!
WiFi signal could be improved: The area itself has very sparce Internet and wifi was a bit hit or miss. Not too mich of an issue for us though.
Matches for the hob and fire pit would also be a welcome addition.
Apart from that, everything was perfect!

Beautiful little cosy cottage with just enough room for two. Great location close to Alton towers which we were visiting and other attractions and restaurants. Kind and helpful owners with all the facilities you need for a short stay. Would definitely come back again!!!

Lovey location and pretty little house
The bed wasn’t very comfortable and there was mould in the bathroom, on the sealant and on the roof above the shower.
Also it would of been helpful if I could of got hold of the owners as I tried to ring a few times about our late arrival beforehand with no luck and when we arrived we had to stumble about in the dark trying to work out what to do until we realised the key had been left in the door.

The Piggery was in a beautiful spot, so tranquil and quiet. The room was just right for a one or two night stay though may be too small for a longer stay with more luggage. Pip the host was super friendly and accommodating. The pub in Ipstones, The Marquis of Granby, served excellent food with friendly staff and locals. We'd love to stay again.
The bed was a little soft for us but it was so quiet we slept well anyway!

The location was lovely. The owners were lovely. We loved sitting out on the decking with the fire pit going at night . The place was extremely quiet . (Beautiful )
It was cramped .
4.2
Storage for my bikes. Nice area and not far from the village, nice hosts and people living on the farm, lovely surrounding fields and hills, good view. nice BBQ area outside the piggery. comfy bed. close to alton towers which is what its purpose was for.
The property was small as expected but i'd have prefered a slightly bigger bathroom. getting to the wash basin is hard as its tiny and wedged in the corner. . Cobwebs need removing and the top windows could do with a clean which made it feel a little 'grubby' . few things inside could do with updating, not a massive fan of shabby sheek! TV needs replacing too, to high up and poor picture.
4.2
Outside fire pit and decking area
Provision of tea coffee and food making facilities
Friendly hosts
Bed wasn’t too comfy
No remote for tv made it difficult to use

Everything about the Piggery & the surrounding area is amazing. Very picturesque & tranquil location not far from a village with a great pub and local shop. It had a great porch with BBQ & fire pit to enjoy evening drinks in the countryside. The hosts were very friendly and the horses liked a wee clap & tickle aswell. Would 100% recommend this place to friends & family & would definitely revisit for a quiet break from everyday life.
The place was a bit dusty with cobwebs and there was some mold round the windows. And a bunch of dead bugs in the lamp. The plates, glasses, mugd, toilet & shower were spotless though. Will definitely revisit as the surroundings were beautiful & the hosts were very friendly.
4.2
It was very quirky, small but was all we needed for our 2 night stay.
Nothing

Was a great location for walking into the village and driving to local attractions. Was lovely and peaceful. Would recommend the local pub marques of granbey for food, especially fish on Friday.
We are fortunate enough as a couple to stay away often. Whilst we don’t have high expectations I have to say this was one of the dirtiest places we have ever stayed. The floor was unclean, the fridge had stuff in from the previous guests and needed cleaning, there were cobwebs in all of the windows that could have been taken away with a long reach duster, there were a mass of flys in the light fixture, and a hair in the shower. The only way to wash dishes was an outside sink, really not a problem as you only have to boil a kettle and crack on, but the cloth left to clean was disgusting so we chose not to use it. There was a toaster that had seen better days, and a kettle full of scale. The place could do with a bit of care, little things like a bread or sharp knife, and maybe a few more utensils. The barbecue outside still had the previous guests disposable on top and the utensils were dirty. The draw in the larder had a range of miscellaneous items in including condoms, which I felt was inappropriate and had clearly not been cleared out for a while. Considering we are still classed as being in a pandemic all be it coming out the other end, the level of cleanliness was poor. It’s the only place I have stayed where I had to clean before we used anything.
This may be acceptable for some as it was reasonable priced and a step up from camping, but the property has so much potential if a little time and effort was made.
