This place is from another time, if you don’t mind a few cobwebs on the lights, dogs and chickens this is the place for you. Mary is fantastic and will bend over backwards to make your stay comfortable. The accommodation is straight out of bed knobs and broomsticks with metal frame beds with big duvet covers and throws with large old wardrobes and display cupboard in all rooms. Massive breakfast with scones, cakes, cereal and a huge fry up.
It was about a 20 minute walk from town, but it suited us because we were on motorbikes and Mary allowed us to lock them in the back yard.

Great spot. Close enough to the city and to where we wanted to be. Really great communication with warm and friendly host. Clean comfy beds, warm well ventilated homely rooms. Lovely breakfast, lots of choice of fruit pastries and cereal. The kids loved freshly made pancakes and the owner, Mary. We are looking forward to returning soon.

Mary is a really welcoming host. The lavender on the pillows was a nice touch, and I appreciated the variety of choices of tea. We got there very late and was happy to found several restaurants still open just 3 blocks walking distance.
The shower run hot and cold, literally, alternating every 12 to 13 seconds. I timed it so I can figure out when to step back.

nothing. Its not a Hotel as written, its a poor b&b in a family-house, where mom rents the old childrens rooms
all very scruffy, furniture very old, one bath for all the rooms/house, windows so old that they cant be opened, dirty.
Extremely much too expensive. Sleeping in the car would have been better.

Warm hospitality, wonderful breakfasts, delightful conversation, and information regarding points of interest. Interesting conversations with other guests.
Mary was a very engaging, articulate person who enjoyed talking and listening.
The bus waiting was but a few minutes from Brackenberry House. Very convenient, reliable, and economical transportation.
Traditional decorating. A glance back to an earlier, more genteel era.
The bathroom had no grab bars. A little bit of a concern for an old man.
I was unaware of how many other guests would be there. It would have been helpful, and being able to anticipate late night sounds and bathroom gavility sharing times.

there was no one there to greet us and we had to ask a passerby to help us . then after about half hour we say and envelope with a note and a key in it. it was under a pot
it is old and run down and didn’t look clean at all. not at all what we expected. we didn’t stay there because we were afraid of bugs etc. very unacceptable

My friend and I had the most fantastic, relaxing stay here when we were visiting Belfast. The beautiful Georgian house boasts lots of warm homely character. It had everything that we were looking for. The beds are extremely comfy (one of the best nights sleep i've had in a long time) the rooms warms and the location is amazing. The house is situated is in a leafy, lovely part of the Belfast - only a 20 min walk to the city centre! The b and b is amazing for parking, lots of on street parking in a quiet safe neighbourhood.
What makes this place amazing is the host Mary! Mary is so welcoming, warm generous and genuinely one of the loveliest, sweetest people you will ever meet. We felt as if we were at home while staying at Mary's place. Mary welcomed us with open arms on arrival and made us feel most welcome and at home. Mary had left handmade lavender pouches on the pillows, offered us tea and coffee when we arrived and although we hadn't booked breakfast, insisted that we have breakfast on the house! Mary is a most wonderful cook. We were treated to organic scrambled eggs on toast (fresh from Mary's chickens) , scones and pancakes, washed down with coffee and tea, served on the most beautiful bone china. Talk about Irish hospitality!
We had a lovely time staying here and enjoyed it so much that we we decided to stay again on on the last night of our holiday driving around Ireland. We were late to arrive on our 2nd time due to car problems and didn't arrive until nearly midnight, yet Mary stayed up waiting for us, making sure we were okay and went out of her way seeing if there was anything she could do to help- what a gem! Even when we had checked out Mary let us store our things in her place while we went on a Belfast day tour. Mary is a wealth of knowledge and if you need advice and help please ask her as she is willing to help. Gave us lots of advice on places to visit. THANK YOU for an amazing stay Mary! It was a pleasure to meet you!
