Best location, just next to the river of Nam Khan. This is precious bc usually the hotels in Luang Prabang don’t have direct access to the river (in Mekong river area). Very beautiful and clean room with generous windows for better natural lightning. My room has the balcony and it was facing to the river, so cosy and relaxing to spend time there. The breakfast was simple but tasty and fulfilling. The staff was beyond amazing, they are so lovely and wonderful. From the start to end of my stay, they are so helpful, caring and attentive, they really ensured that I have a comfortable stay in Luang Prabang. They are also resourceful and provided me with a lot of information about the town. After checking out, they walked me to my taxi and for me it was a really kind and sweet gesture. Thank you so much, I will def miss you all. Totally recommend Moonlight Champa for amazing experience in Luang Prabang.
Nothing, hate to leave Moonlight Champa. :(

This place is a calm gem in the hustle and bustle of Luang Prabang. I had the river view room with a nice view of the French Bridge. Room was very large and the bed is firm (to my liking) and I slept well! I had breakfast (delicious croissant!) on the luxury deck which is a fantastic place to relax and watch the river. There is free coffee and green tea served on request which is a lovely touch. The staff helped arrange a half day driver to see Kuang Si and Keo waterfalls (hint: the second place is waaaaaaay better). The location is close to the temples/walking street and even closer if you use their bike (I did for the entire stay) but away from the touristy hustle. I liked how they hady name on the welcome blackboard...a really nice touch. While there's no ice or beer offered on site, the neighbours (steps away) offer them and it's a great way to interact with the community there (it's the only hotel on the street).
Note: if you stay here during the new year celebration, a significant event occurs underneath the hotel at the Nam Khan River. Ask the staff!
The AC in my room wasn't the strongest as during my stay the temp averaged 41C midday. You have to leave it on for a while to cool the whole room. Also during my stay was the smokey season and some of the smoke smell seeped into the room (but this is common in the region not just at this location). So people are aware if coming during March/April.

river view is nice as well as the podium area.
the owner is tricky. our friends stayed at the same river view room but they charged us more.
we also have cockroach in our room.

The manageress was great giving us many recommendations for the local area and offered a 5 star service, the river side balcony was exceptional, watching the sun go down and listening to the traffic on the bridge was very peaceful. The room was a good size, lots of space. The bed was comfortable. The shower had good water pressure.
The staff were hit and miss, for example we planned a day trip through them, when the driver from the tour company arrived (an hour later than wr were told to be ready) they wouldn't take us. Because we had no other option we let the hotel arrange a different more expensive option. It was a waste of a morning waiting around. We were also over charged on check in - thankfully the manageress is great and reviewed our bills, returning the money, but I had queried this repeatedly at check in and was dismissed.
The bath in our room had no hot water. We filled it with kettles. There is also no storage for clothes.

Great hotel with sweet and helpful staff and an amazing, dedicated owner! All together we stayed at the Moonlight Champa for 5 days and had a great time. The rooms are super nice, the breakfast is tasty and the staff helped us booking train tickets and tours with no commission. The center is in walking distance and the area felt safe. If you stay here you really support the local community.
Some of the rooms have only the wooden shutters on the windows, so it can get a bit noisy. Just bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper.

Hideaway gem hotel located bit distance from centre of the city. However, you will definitely have great view from hotel balcony of Nam Khan river and the bridge, serenity of the place, bigger and great room which I could say unbeatable in this price range. Even a standard room would be a stunning for size, facility and comfy bed. The owner and staff are so kind and really nice. They would help you thorugh everything you ask. I also recommended to book a pickup or dropoff to airport with hotel which is very fair price.
It's not about the hotel but it is quite dark in the area especially when you return from city late at night or leave at dawn due to public electric post coverage in the street nearby may not enough.

I had a wonderful stay here. Bella is a lovely lady who owns the property who was great to chat to and hear her adventures (she was an air stewardess with Singapore airlines so has travelled all over the place!).
this hotel is a lovely little oasis on the river. a really peaceful stay with comfortable beds and charming breakfast area. the room was lovely and clean, as was the bathroom (with good hot shower).
the staff are lovely and will help you with anything you need. it was lovely to be here!
I loved everything though for some people the distance from the main town may be inconvenient. it’s only a 15 minute walk so easy for me! and the roads are safe and quiet.

We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this hotel to others. The team were exceptionally warm and welcoming, we felt very at home. Each day we were offered useful tips and suggestions for activities or excursions and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was great and overall the hotel was incredibly stylish and peaceful. It’s an idyllic oasis.

Amazing view and patio. Rooms were clean, stylish and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Exceeded our expectations, one of the best places we’ve stayed in.

This is a boutique hotel with a beautifully designed deck-terrace looking out onto the river, while the rooms have this modern, stylish look, with very comfortable bed, chairs, good shower (my room had a free-standing bath good for short people like me) and necessary amenities. The staffs were amazing and very kind, and also extremely helpful when I needed something sorted out. I chose a small breakfast which was great, and they had different kinds of fruits, plus good coffee. It had an airy, well designed feel to it, with easy staircases to the top floor (no lift) but there’s always some staff to help you if you need help. They gave me an extension lead for my room, so that made charging my appliances easier, and I would have liked a bedside light, but that is not too difficult to sort out. It’s a 15 mins (pleasant) walk to the night market, but you can get tuktuks, and there are 2 small supermarkets with all you need nearby, as well as restaurants. It’s a ‘local’ area and gives off a community feel when you walk around there.

The room was spotless with beautiful, elegant decor. The bath tub in the room was a lovely surprise. Really comfy bed, hot shower, tea and coffee. the staff are so welcoming and accommodating.
A really small thing; maybe needs some more towels as only one to use each.

All are excellent and impressive. Staffs are lovely and friendly. Decoration is vey nice and I love it.
As I am a solo traveler for this trip, the owner
give me special complimentary for van pick-up from airport to hotel. very impressive!
Just water heater that take time a little bit to make it hot but it's fine as the owner already informed in adavance.

After 6-7 years I was in Luang Prabang, Moonlight Champa Riverview can fill me up and even better with the hotel owner Brad and Bella. They were so nice and very helpful.

the place is gorgeous, overlooking the river. they have a really nice deck and sitting area. the room is spacious! location is 10-15minutes away from the sight seeing places (mount phousi etc) but it was an easy walk and you'll see temples along the way. they have bikes you can borrow if you're not keen on walking, that's another option. i would recommend walking though if you want to explore restaurants!
bella & brad were also very helpful, as well as the staff. felt the hospitality. they will also give you a map and show you where events/sites are.

Wonderful staff, very helpful with organization of excursions and transportation. Hotel is located a nice walk from city center, but by the river in a quiet residential area. Fresh coffee and cold bear served any time of the day. We had a great time.

Super nice staff. The hotel is clean, quiet and beautiful, modern while keeping an authentic vibe. I used their bicycle to get around town and it was great.

The place, just outside of the busyness, the people, simply the sweetest you could find, and the great rooms and breakfast. An all-round blessing to have stayed there.
