What a cool place to stay! Amazing views and sunset you can’t miss.
The parking spot was a bit overgrown so make sure to look for the signs behind the weeds, also do not use the VRBO open maps option on the app to get here, either follow the hosts directions or put the actual address in your maps. The trail off the gravel road is about 3/4 of a mile from the parking spot. There is more shade once you are off the gravel road. The tower is awesome, and with all the windows letting in a breeze it cooled down pretty quickly. There is a well loved jetboil and a kettle for the stove, as well as a grill. The toilet works well, but there are no posted instructions on how to change the cartridge if needed. Also, you have to bring your own trash down, something to really keep in mind if you hike up. Overall great place to stay.

The tower is a clean, well-built, relaxing place to stay with full 360 views of Idaho and Washington!
The solar power built into the tower was strong enough for our small, 600-watt coffee pot to work.
The windows have screens so no bugs can get in.
We enjoyed the chairs on the porch to take in the stunning sunsets!

We had a great time staying at the lookout tower! Previous reviews made it sound like the road was not even maintained enough for a side by side, but this was not true. We chose to hike in mostly based on these reviews. The hike is definitely straight up! Worth the views! Not much to do other than view from the tower or take the short hike to Redemption Rock, so one night was sufficient. If we return in the future it would be fun to bring a side by side and take a better meal to bbq. We highly appreciated water being supplied since we hiked in. The tower was clean overall, but wish people would leave it cleaner than they found it. There was a bit of dog hair and someone had left foil in the wood stove. Overall a beautiful property and neighborhood and beautiful views. We had a wonderful experience. The path from the "tower parking" sign is a little unclear, but after you find the main trailhead further up the gravel road marked "tower" there are plenty of signs.

We had an amazing night at Redemption Rock Tower. The hike is strenuous. But, the view and accommodation are absolutely worth it. The only hiccup we had was attempting to book the property on another site instead of VRBO. But, the property manager worked with us to resolve the problem. Highly recommend this beautiful getaway!

We had the best time at your tower ! Super clean , amenities available we weren’t expecting. We drove up in our side by side and it was just so much fun start to finish !
Great location , awesome views and an experience you won’t forget

Perfect for a weekend getaway, in a beautiful area and the view is wonderful! Peacful and relaxing. There is a hammock and sime games to play.
Its definitely a 3 mile hike in but its straight up and down! Very steep in spots. Be prepared to at least have a hour and a half hike in.
We had a razor so it wasnt so bad. But if you are hiking with more than a few things it could be tricky. The owner is great at responding and keeping in touch.
But overall we loved it and its clean! Would definitely go again!

We had a wonderful time taking in the views from the tower and watching the birds play in the wind gusts, we were up in the sky with them. I can't imagine doing this hike, we rode in on a side by side with our dog. It took us two trips to get our very minimal supplies up there. Parts of the trail are very steep and even the side by side had trouble getting grip. Just as the other reviews say, this is a very advanced hike and you would need lots of water to drink on the way up. My only regret was that we really only needed one night to enjoy this place and I had booked two nights. So the second day was long and could be boring for some but we liked relaxing, sleeping, and reading. Also it's not very obvious whether there is power or lights. There is both, provided mostly by solar means to battery packs and then there is a power converter in the main part of the cabin to charge phones and the like.

This was a great stay! We’re so glad the little fireplace was there - it kept the place very warm! Lots of games and just a great spot to be! It was a little unclear of how to get to the trail form where we parked but we followed the road and figured it out! Would highly recommend staying here for a fun adventurous trip!

Wonderful place to stay, hike is strenuous, which is what we had hoped for; can't imagine doing it in snow shoes with packs. We went on a hot spring day and needed a little more water than we had brought. Beautiful hike. Wish the description (or signs) had indicated that the hike begins on the same road for cars for the first part; once we made it to the hiking/ATV trail, it was very well marked. Cabin had everything we needed for a rustic weekend getaway. Would love to go again, and maybe bring our active boys (age 8, 10, 12). Thanks so much, Steve!!!

My boyfriend and I stayed 2 nights over winter break. The hike is no joke, and we used snow shoes the whole way, but the view is gorgeous. The tower has a wonderful wood stove and a dry toilet so everything you need to be comfortable. If you are up for a tough hike and an adventure, this is a unique experience for you!

My boyfriend and I stayed here with our dog and everything was absolutely lovely. We are beginner hikers and the 3.5 mile hike was VERY intense and gruesome at times, but the views from the top of the mountain at the tower will make every painful, sweaty step worth it. The tower was neat and clean when we arrived and the hosts provided us with water, a few extra supplies, and snacks for purchase. The one thing you dont want to miss is the sunset - we watched the beautiful colors blend together behind the mountains and at night, you can see the cities lit up beneath you. In the morning, a neighbor nearby even offered us a ride down the rest of trail to our car! Truly a breathtaking place to stay if you are up for some adventure and exercise.

AMAZING
LOVED this place! The pictures do not do any of it justice, the views are absolutely incredible! The place was clean, comfortable, and had what was expected. Not having to pack up water was a huge help. We will be staying here again!

Killer Hike Meets Killer Views!
OK. First let's start with the 3 mile hike in to the tower. Believe the reviews when people use the terms "strenuous" and "difficult". You gain 3200 feet in elevation and the hike up is steep! With stops along the way, it is doable for even novice hikers, but be aware...it will challenge you!!
The tower is amazing. It is well stocked with water, snacks, and general supplies. The views are to die for and nothing, I mean nothing, can beat sitting on the deck with a glass of wine looking out on the entire valley. And thank you, Tucker, for coming up to check on us to make sure we made it safely! You rock!

Amazing views and incredible location
What a great experience and adventure. Beautiful and fairly hidden part of the Inland NW. I have lived in the Spokane and Cda for most of my life and explore everything this area has to offer all the time, and the views at the cabin and on Redemption Rock are second to none. The host was very accessible and helpful. The cabin was super clean and well maintained. I will be returning again for sure! That was an experience I will soon not forget.

Beautiful
A must needed break, barely any snow at the top and amazing views all around. Stocked with water, and snacks if you want to buy, tons of firewood and a futon for my partner and I. We hardly needed the wood fireplace on it was so warm....loved are stay:)

Beautiful & Serene!
I had a wonderful time at redemption tower—the hike was beautiful and invigorating as anticipated. I am grateful I brought snowshoes along for the upper half. Steve was an excellent host who was kind and considerate. He stayed in communication with me throughout my stay which helped me feel extra secure as I was on a solo trip. I will absolutely be back!

Bucket list experience
Wow. What an amazing experience. Views were stunning. Being able to see liberty lake, Newman lake, Spokane river, CdA lake, Lake Fernann and probably one or two more I am missing. The hike up is no joke. It took us a few hours. But so rewarding once you reach the tower. The tower was nice and clean and plenty of necessities provided. We only had to pack in food beverage, sleeping bags and personal items. Steve is very responsive with any questions you may have. We can’t wait to go back!

Holiday Weekend Getaway
There’s not much I can say that hasn’t already been said - This was truly a unique experience! My boyfriend and I stayed last weekend (Feb 19-20) and were able to make it about 1.75 miles before putting on the snowshoes. The hike was intense for sure. My GPS said 1800 feet of elevation in almost exactly 3 miles. If you’re like me and you like to know what to expect, the hardest part was between mile 2-2.5.
The route is marked with trail flags, but there are some new trails/roads being blazed as well. When in doubt, follow the flags.
As for wildlife we saw a couple white tail deer and fresh tracks for both moose and cougar… luckily we did not run into either but I would recommend being prepared just in case.
Once we made it to the cabin, it was stocked with water and firewood as well as other snacks for “purchase” as mentioned… there’s a kettle for water so didn’t end up needing our jetboil (there’s one of those as well!) the toilet doesn’t seem to be a compost one anymore, but a dry toilet with removable bags/cartridges.
The views were gorgeous and I *believe* we had a 360 degree view of Liberty, Newman, Hauser, and Coeur d’alene Lakes!
We’ve already sent the link to several friends and will probably be back another time for a longer stay!

Snowmobile/snowshoe to the tower
My husband and I had a grand adventure snowmobiling to redemption rock tower on New Year’s Eve. The views are breath taking, we watched sunset, sunrise and were able to see fireworks from all around the area. The wood stove kept us toasty warm in the negative degree weather. The tower was stocked with plenty of water, cleaning supplies, paper products, etc.
The solar system didn’t have much battery power, but it’s winter so we weren’t planning on using it anyway. There was lanterns, speakers and cards games that kept us entertained. We snowshoed around the top of the mountain and explored around redemption rock. We will absolutely be back. I recommend it to anyone who loves a good adventure.

An amazing weekend get away!
It is quite a hike up! Saw some white tail deer on the way up and tracks for other animals. The views along the way are amazing and just a taste of what you get at the top. Definitely want to be prepared for the weather as it can change quickly. We had some trouble getting the fire to stay lit but we also had some winter and wind advisories while at the top. The property is as advertised and well equipped.
The hike back down after a fresh snow was beautiful and manageable. We did have a bit of a slow down, because a moose was taking the trail too! It was a pretty amazing encounter and got to spend about 30 minutes with the moose (from a safe distance).
Would highly recommend this stay and know we will be back again!

A Perfect Getaway!
As all the other reviews stated, the hike up is tough, but totally worth it! The views are amazing! The wood stove kept us warm and the tower was stocked with lots of wood and water! We decided to hike up to the top of Shasta Butte which is on All Trails and about a 10 min walk from the tower to the “trail head” which is marked with pink tags. Steve was very responsive and checked to make sure everything was going okay. The hike up to the tower is not marked all that well, but just stay on the main trail and keep going up.

Memories with a view
Wowza!!! Definitely a moderate to hard hike (especially if you pack a 4 course dinner ;). That being said the views and property were phenomenal. All was as advertised with some great extras. The woodstove kept us toasty all night and the views at sunset and sunrise were spectacular. Definitely plan on returning!!

The owner has a heart of gold and made the whole process for us exceptional. He was quick to respond and made the whole hiccup we had on our end of planning seem effortless. The views and stays were breathe taking. Definitely booking again soon come summer!

Incredible views
This was a great property with amazing views. Very clean and comfortable. The hike up is no joke, you really need to be prepared for that. Bathroom situation is not ideal but there's probably not much that can be done about that. Highly recommend for reasonably fit outdoorsy types
