The Location being on Elisabeth Street was easily accessible by Tram. Good food and wine stores close by. The city easily accessible by Tram. There was no breakfast provided. However one could have coffee or tea on the house. Good kitchen and dining areas for cooking your own meals. Good for low cost stay. Clean and Wonderful youthful atmosphere.
The housekeeping did not come until unless called in for. Only to collect the daily garbage. If you said No then the housekeeping did not check again.

The Location on Elisabeth Street was easily accessible from the Melbourne Central Bus Station by Tram. Good location with food and wine stores and a pub close by. The Victoria Market and various sites are also easily accessible by Tram. A Free Walking Tour organised by the Hostel. A wonderful Kitchen, Dining and Store Area. Coffee and Tea on the House and a Rooftop Café for a quick good cost effective breakfast.
The Housekeeping. Always required to be called for cleaning of the Room. If you said No then the Housekeeping Staff would not check again later.

Auberge très bien située à proximité des transports, proche du CBD.
Souvent l'eau des douches était froide, seul point négatif

Located in the center of Melbourne, only girls dorms. I only stayed because i had no other places to go at this moment
The dirty crowded kitchen, the two elevators for 11 floors that you wait for years, the street is full of crackheads so you don't feel safe, the cleaning crew that comes at 9am to every floor so you cant go to the toilet at all because it is forbidden, the washing machine that gets unlocked and people can take your clothes. The worse maybe ? i found a lice on my bed i had to buy a lice free shampoo to prevent the worse !

Central, secure, good facilities, great staff.
Noisy doors kept us awake most of the night.

Great location, nice that there’s a big kitchen and common spaces if you want that, bathrooms were clean.
It felt like most of the people here who were hanging out in the common rooms were here long-term and cliquey. This made it hard as a short-term solo traveler to meet people who are interested in hanging out. That said, you could get lucky with your room having a mix of people I guess.

Staff were super helpful and friendly, the location in terms of transport options is hard to beat but it is Flinders Street so it's rowdy of a night time, you'll hear all the goings on down in the street from your room at night, but it didn't bother us too much. The common areas seemed to have quite a lively atmosphere and there's a bar/club on a lower level which hosts guests and the public.
Nothing really, it's a backpackers and you get what you pay for. We had a twin room with ensuite bathroom and it served all its purposes just fine.

best backpacker, best location! I was in a single room and it is better than hotel rooms. They even have a cool bar in the building!
the street is quite noisy during the weekends, but I had earplugs :)

Everything was brilliant from the people we met to the location, which included easy access to transport to convenience of shops.
Maybe the use of gas bottles for water and cooking might be considered. Just an idea. Otherwise couldn t come up with any real negative issues.

pretty nice hostel, the location is just awesome, very clean (6 bed woman dorm)
huge hostel, so many people, too many for my taste, quite loud and overcrowded in the common areas, but if you're a party person and really outgoing it's the best place to be, also you can meet a lot of people that's nice
