Booked a full week and didn’t want to go home. Very comfortable home with beautiful views. Decorated with unique touches throughout. Kitchen had everything we needed. We did see a cub near the home, which was exciting. Everything we did was within 30 minutes from this location. Three things to keep in mind is the owner is in the lower part of the home with a different entrance (it was completely fine for us though), you only have access to the washer and dryer upon request and can’t just freely use when you want, and the driveway can possibly be an issue if you don’t have AWD (all wheel drive) and it’s extremely steep.
Really enjoyed our stay.

Wild Mountain Air is a gem of a vacation spot, which I came across by happenstance.
It is 20 minutes from Asheville, and close to many hiking trails and parks. Weaverville is 10 minutes away for one to collect essentials from, if needed. Yet it is secluded enough to be free of light pollution at night to enjoy the stars as they were meant to be.
The inside was thoughtfully appointed for comfort and comforting, with fitting accoutrement and décor. Leah’s (our host) keen eyes for artful, tasteful approach to the welcoming set up were evident throughout, inside and out.
Outside were decks, and a porch with a swing, all wrapped around by gardens of herbs and flowers. When not exploring, we spent a lot of time sitting out on the decks, just vegging out, drinking coffee, watching humming birds arguing about the feeders, and looking up at the sky at nights. And, of course, dining al fresco on the deck in the evening.
Leah’s communications were prompt, courteous, and to the point. She was a gracious host, who made sure our stay was comfortable. The check-in was quick and smooth. Checkout was equally uneventful. I plan to go back to Wild Mountain Air.
Unfortunately, the bears didn’t come by during our stay, as we had hoped.

We had a lovely stay. Everything was perfect and just as described. The house was perfect and fit our needs. The flowers and view around the house was just what we wanted. Easy enough drive to area and downtown Asheville but just far enough removed from city to relax. The stars at night wwre amazing. Owner was grear to communicate with and very helpful. Definitely a favorite and will stay again. Recommend highly.

The house is so spacious, clean, peaceful, and beautifully decorated! The large windows everywhere light up the room with natural light while providing a good view of the mountains surrounding the property. The many rugs, tapestry, wood furnishings, and other decorations give a pleasant nature/rustic, yet slightly elegant, feel to the house. You can tell the owner likes to garden and there are beautiful flowers surrounding the wrap around porch. The owner was very pleasant and great to communicate with. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay there!

Our family enjoyed a lovely stay at Leah’s Wild Mountain Air retreat. The home was clean, well appointed and surrounded by the most lovely gardens. The booking was easy. Leah provided great local recommendations for meals and tips for wildlife spotting. We needed a restful weekend away and this was the perfect spot to connect and breathe!

Words cannot express how much my friend and I enjoyed our stay there. We enjoyed it so much we barely spent any time outside of the property, despite originally planning to. It’s a beautiful home with incredible views, lots of nature (I saw a black bear and cubs frolicking in the nearby meadow!), and stunning design. It’s in a great location - 10 minutes from the small downtown of Weaverville and between 20-30 minutes to Asheville and Black Mountain! Leah was a lovely host and has a sweet shop in Weaverville I recommend checking out. Highly highly recommend this place, and I will definitely come back if I have the opportunity. Thank you!

This place is so perfect it is borderline magical. The setting, the decor, Leah's hospitality...everything was great! My friend and I had a wonderful time catching up while sitting on the deck and taking in the atmosphere. Even now - more than a week later, I'm still thinking about our visit and it brings me peace.

Good communication with host, comfortable and clean cabin with all essentials for an enjoyable and relaxing stay. Removed from hustle and bustle but accessible to all that the Asheville area has to offer. We will be back.

This is one of my all-time favorite places in the Blue Ridge mountains. The house itself, the surroundings, proximity to the things we want to do in and around Asheville are all great.

My wife and I loved our stay. Leah, the host that lives in the bottom unit, was so kind and gave us some great tips on where to see waterfalls and where to eat. We followed her recommendations and were not disappointed. The house is so much nicer than the photos convey. The location is perfect. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay again. 5/5 stars.

Beautifully decorated chalet. Helpful, available, congenial host. Scenic, peaceful, walkable setting with easy drives to Asheville and surroundings.Made it hard to come home to hot, humid, flat Naples, Florida.
Really enjoyed Leah's shop where we bought artisan gifts.

We spent a week at this beautiful home, and it is truly a place of peace and rest. Our initial plans for our vacation involved lots of outdoor activities, but when it rained for much of the week, we felt SO lucky to have a place to stay that we genuinely wanted to be in.
Waking up to the sound of birdsong and the wind in the trees, drinking coffee and having meals on the decks, and walking around the gravel roads felt like a gift every day. When we did get out to explore, we enjoyed the great shops and restaurants in Weaverville, some nearby hikes, and a few fun days in Asheville, which is only 20-25 minutes away.
We miss this place already! We’re grateful to Leah for welcoming us with such warmth and hospitality. :)

My wife and I and her parents loved staying here. There was a ground floor with en suite bathroom for them and we had the upstairs bedroom with en suite bathroom offering a nice amount of privacy. The house is spacious, well furnished, unique, and extremely beautiful. It is a mountain-side eco-home with an interesting story and wonderful views overlooking the surrounding forest and meadows. Our host Leah was kind, communicative, and accommodating. We'd happily stay here again.

We loved this cozy home nestled in the mountains! We would have loved to have spent more of our time there just sitting out on the deck listening to the chirping birds and breathing the fresh mountain air, but the main purpose for our trip was to attend a conference at the Cove in Asheville, along with some sight-seeing activities. The beds were very comfortable, and the shower was absolutely amazing!

My girlfriend and I had a blast at this place! I don’t think the pictures do it justice. We were floored when we pulled in to the property.
Great communication with the host. She has the cutest store downtown.
We FaceTimed everyone we knew and they all wanted us to send them the listing so they could book it lol.
Thanks Leah!!!

My husband and I spent 5weeks in this beautiful home surrounded by mountains. We saw the changing of the leaves and the colors were amazing. The Town of Weaverville was just a short 15mins away, and had several great restaurants. Our favorites being the Glass Onion and the Twisted Laurel. We also loved the Well Bred Bakery & Cafe that served breakfast and lunch with a large array of pastries and sandwhiches. You must also visit Leah’s Gallery ‘Artisans’ on N Main St.
There are lots of Hiking Trails right off the Blue Ridge Pky which is a short 10 mins away.
Asheville is twenty minutes south. Now the house!! We loved it as soon as we walked in. It was quite large with open concept living, dining and kitchen. We had wall to floor windows across from the living area that led out onto a large deck facing fabulous mountain views. We spent the mornings having coffee out there and a glass of wine when we came back from
Hiking. Leah was a gem and answered any questions we asked. We can’t wait to go back!

Recently spent a week at this charming house, tucked away in the hills E. of Weaverville. Less than 10 minutes to the town of Weaverville for restaurants and beer and a quick jaunt into Asheville for some culture - the tranquil location was perfect. The house was/is spacious and adorned with many artistic touches and decorating pieces. Bed was super comfy, kitchen was amply functional, and the shower! the shower in the main suite was fit for a world-class spa. We both overshowered during our stay!
Ownership (Leah) was very attentive and saw us through a mini-crisis on our first night. (a sudden storm caused a power outage - quickly fixed by the utility workers).
We couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Awesome home to stay!
This home is exactly what expected if not better! We would stay there again. Everything you need is in rhe home....dishes, pots, pans, toaster, microwave, stove and oven. All the silverware and utensils you would ever need. Beautiful arthropods with plenty of towels. Beds are very comfortable with beautiful views from the porches. Very close to Asheville and Biltmore! You must eat at the Stoney Knob Cafe! Food was wonderful!

Beautiful Fall Getaway
Leah's home was wonderful! The views from the second floor bedroom were absolutely stunning, the giant walk-in show felt like a spa, the radiant heat flooring kept things warm and cozy on those chilly days, and the pups loved the large enclosed deck. The property is close to the cute town of Weaverville where you have easy access to wonderful dining options, but the house is just far enough out nestled out in the mountains where you feel like you can truly relax and unwind in your own mountain paradise. Leah was very welcoming and gave fabulous directions to get to the place, which we really appreciated when arriving late at night. All around great property!

A wonderful scape
We’ve been to Asheville several times, and each time we stayed in a new place. Each one was fine, nice even, but we always wanted to try something new next time, since there were so many options. This is the first time we are seriously thinking about coming back!
This is the first time we stayed in a place with the owner in the same building. Leah lives downstairs, but that turned out to be super convenient and not at all an issue. Leah was attentive and always quick to respond. She was terrific.
The setting was beautiful - in a bowl valley with steep mountains all around. It was a few minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, 10 minutes or so from Weaverville and several good options for meals, and about 20 minutes from the center of Asheville. We expected the location would be a. It of an issue, but it wasn’t at all. The house was a few hundred yards up a well-maintained dirt road. I can imagine that the final hill could be an issue with snow without 4WD, but our big sedan had no problem.
Inside the place was very well provisioned, and the furnishings were artsy and very comfortable. The beds were great, and the bathrooms spacious.
Like I said, we liked it so much, we’re thinking we will stop looking for the perfect place for us. We might have found it.

Beautiful home, but not totally private
As all the other reviews have said, the home itself is beautiful and well appointed. We enjoyed our stay very much. However, if you're looking for a completely private getaway, this isn't it. The listing doesn't mention the owner's sister's home that shares the driveway with this one. Also, the owner lives downstairs of the home which is mentioned in the last sentence of the listing description. Overall, a nice experience, but you do not feel completely secluded if that's what you're looking for.

Perfect stay in Paradise!
We stayed at Wild Mountain Air for the month of September 2021 and it was wonderful. Our host Leah was delightful, the house was beautiful and location was close to food markets,
downtown Weaverville and restaurants. We had a small dog and there were many dog friendly areas to walk Henry. We were also close to Asheville, Grove Park Inn and the Asheville Airport.
Bring your camera- the views are spectacular! You will want to take lots of pictures!!

Fabulous home and location
Leah's place is a beautiful, spacious home nestled in a lovely mountain setting. We were there for a few days and enjoyed every minute. We didn't cook, but the kitchen seemed well equipped. Beds and furniture were comfortable and the decor was beautiful.

Home run!!
My husband and I looked high and low for a place that would check all of our boxes. They were hard to check because my sister has severe Ms and fibromyalgia.
In short, my husband and I were thrilled with our bedroom and bath. My sister, being in the first floor bedroom suite, was thrilled with her bedroom and roll-in bath. There was a ramp leading into the house. This place was incredible not only functionally but also in aesthetics, views, and location. Leah is a sweetheart. She's always there to help if you need her.

Adventure in Weaverville
We enjoyed this home so much. I was looking for a location outside of Asheville that provided nature, quiet, feeling of seclusion all the while being close to places to explore and adventure. Talk to Leah, the host, she has some suggestions for outings. I would book again!!!

Leah's home is awesome!
We loved our stay here at Leah's chateau! Beautifully appointed with artistic elements, located super-close to Asheville and the entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway. We brought our motorcycle/scooter and enjoyed the ride. We felt perfectly safe and comfortable at this home and would do it again!

Peaceful beautiful retreat
The house was beautifully and artsy! The surrounding yard and the mountains and trees right outside the windows were a lovely calming refuge. There are also TWO lovely balconies from which to take in the beauty! Asheville for food, art and hiking just about 15 to 20 minutes away! The food at vegan restaurant, Plant was some of the best I’ve had. And don’t miss downtown Weaverville, which also had nice art and good food and coffee choices. We will return❤️

Couples’ getaway
The pictures don’t show how truly lovely this cabin is! There are so many artistic details and neat accents throughout that make this stay enchanting. We stayed with another couple and couldn’t hear anything between floors. The setting is just lovely nestled in the valley with views of the mountains surrounding the area. We drove into Asheville each day (a. Wry shirt trip) and also up to hot springs (highly recommend the hot spring resort for a sunset dip after a day hike). Great location and owner is very responsive although we did not need to ring her for anything while there because it was completely ready for us and she gave great instructions ahead of time so we had no questions upon arrival. We will definitely stay again!
