Good location - close to night market, if that's what you're looking for.
We booked the room at the back of the hotel with a balcony, which was small but that was fine. The room was very clean and was made up every day. Occupancy at that time was low, so on the final of 3 nights we were offered a move to a sister hotel along the street (a suite) for no additional cost and we accepted. Staff there were also very friendly and helpful, so cannot fault the hospitality shown throughout.

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a fantastic experience. The rooms were incredibly clean and comfortable, making my stay very enjoyable. Additionally, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which really added to the overall experience. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean and comfortable place to stay, with great customer service.

- Perfect location, close to everything but quite in night.
- Very friendly and helpful stuff.
- Beautiful room, well preserved, high standard with wood and marble and very clean.
Many thanks for hosting me and all the best for you.
- Nothing really, but for some people maybe:
- Aircon if other rooms are quite noisy during night. This is quite usual as I experienced during my travel through Asia.

Great location, charming old building, friendly and helpful staff
Room was somewhat cramped, hot water didn’t get more than warm

Had a room with a window, nice and high ceiling and beautiful wooden furniture. Very close to the a lot of shops, sights and restaurants around town. Staff is lovely too!
I have to say that there was not too much space and the bathroom is kind of open too, but it was manageable if you stay with someone you know well. It was tough to store my big suitcase, however I think the staff noticed so we did get offered an upgrade to one of their partner hotels (Heeren Palm Suites) after one night and were very happy with it, would rate that even higher!

Location was great, so close to Jonker Street. The staff was very friendly and the place is clean. There's also parking available for guests, which was very convenient + they allowed us to leave the car for an hour after checkout so we could sightsee in the area before leaving Malacca.
Wifi signal was weak, I think our room was too far from the router, so wifi keeps getting cut off and we had to rely on our own cell service. For the money spent, I think there are better options out there.

Hospitality & Originality
Nothing in particular

Great location as it very close to Jonker Walk and other attractions.
Helpful staff who is trying to solve the room air-con problem eventhough is 12am-1am already.
Good experience of staying in it as we get to know how the structure of old time houses is.
Luckily, hotel's reserved parking is not full, and we get to park our car there.
To the guest:
If you are a impatient driver, better choose other place to stay.
As staying in "old city" please expect narrow road, one driving way, and always full of car, especially weekend night. (Road block due to Jonker Walk night market on Friday, Saturday & Sunday, may take you more time to find the correct way to the hotel)
It will better stay here during the weekdays, because on the weekend nights Tricycle with loud music will pass through the place even at 1am.
To the hotel:
Please consider to put some cups and utensils in the house.

Very friendly staff, room is clean and strategic location
I received a call from the receptionist on the day of my check in for an upgrade to its group's hotel, Heeren Straits Hotel.. We agreed as it is located on the same street which is near to Jonker Street.. However, we were only informed by the staff when she lead us to our room after check in that the water heater in our room is not functioning.. Unable to change room due to full house

location is perfect. Right next to the jonker street and river. The staff was really friendly, helped us with the parking even though it was new years eve. Gave all kind of guidance that i was looking for :)
a balcony would have been nice, im not sure if they have balcony rooms. I booked last minute so cant blame anyone

The location is the center of Malacca, close to Jonker Street which is super convenient. The room is conformable and is expected according to the picture.
However, I would like to comment that bathroom is slightly smelly but can be tolerated as we bought freshener with us so the smell is no longer there. I know that it is not the hotel's fault related to the parking, however the customer should hand in their car keys to the reception if they are blocking other car or at the very least, leave your phone number. I had to wait more than 20 minutes for this guy to come down and move his car. Very inconsiderate.

Location right by Jonker’s Street with many surrounding tourist places & restaurants/cafes. Staff provided exceptional service - very courteous & helpful.
Suggest that the toilet have full doors & not the western type saloon swinging doors that doesn’t go all the way to the floor. Why? Because the room a quite small which means the bed just right next to the toilet/bathroom. Prefer a bit more privacy especially when doing nature call :) Also mineral water was given only for 1st day. They charge RM1 per bottle for subsequent days. Normally most hotels give at least 2 bottles of mineral water per day FOC.

The room still maintain it artistic value in spite of the size. Cleverly arranged deco to overcome the limited area & lack of view. A convenient abode- easily accessible to all important tourist attraction area
Room is a bit small & breakfast is too far.
3.5
Close proximity to the prime area of jonker walk and other historical sites (Stadhuys, St Paul’s Hill, etc)
Poor sound proofing. Can hear people walking around outside and upstairs especially when guests closed their room doors.
Not on the property but the front desk didn’t notify and give us our complimentary breakfast voucher upon check in and we ended up paying and eating outside.
3.5
Can only walk to jonker walk and other places. Hotel provide free parking.
No breakfast as stated in the website. Bring your own toothbrush guys. And also need to check twice after you lock the door!
4.5
Friendly welcome. Easy check in. Very clean. Room had a large balcony with a view of the river. Good breeze in the evening. Comfortable bed, good bed linen. Good shower - bathrobes are a nice extra. Although an old building it's been updated well and retains character. Effective Aircon. Netflix. Some parking outside hotel. Close to restaurants, shops. Very well priced. No (buffet) breakfast offered at this time. Look forward to returning and trying it.
Not essential but...a mirror in the bedroom and a soap dish in the bathroom would be good, simple improvements.
