Great location for snow tubing at Hawksnest. It snowed during our stay. It was beautiful. No problems getting down or up if you have 4 wheel drive. Cabin was comfortable, nice gas fireplace in great room. Guys enjoyed the pool table on the lower level. Kitchen had everything we needed.

The house looks much nicer online than it does in person. The living room and kitchen are small and the furniture is torn and scratched. The house needs a deep clean. The stove had burners that didn’t work, the sink had a leak, and there was trash and a fallen gutter surrounding the property. The view was beautiful.

The location and views of the property can't be beat! The house had a great layout for our group (4 adults, 4 kids), but the house is smaller than it appears in pictures. The home is clean, but the kitchen dishes and utensils need an overhaul. A lot of the dishes were chipped or cracked and there were only 4 bowls for a home that sleeps 8! We asked management for more bowls, but they suggested we buy disposal bowls as they were overrun with holiday requests. Additionally, the kitchen needs more dish towels.
Be aware that there are no fireplaces or fire pits for wood burning. The indoor fireplace is gas logs, which is nice and easy, however we were hoping for an outdoor fire pit to do smores. There is an outdoor fire pit table on the porch, which is also nice, but doesn't work for smores.
The roads in the neighborhood can be slick when icy/snowy, so be prepared for that.
We enjoyed our stay and loved the views, but the house could use some basic amenity upgrades.

Great place to stay, all the bedrooms were spacious and very comfortable. We very much enjoyed the deck in the morning and at night with the fire pit. Views for days !

The property is in a beautiful quiet area. Property for the most part is well equipped with modern smart TVs, excellent appliances, hot tub, fire table, BBQ. We enjoyed the fantastic views of sunrise and on the back sunsets. However the check in did not go well, the supplier provided the wrong front door code and wifi password via the recommended app. That wasted some time getting in. The second negative is the bad condition of kitchen dishes and utensils. Chipped and cracked dishes, incomplete sets, e.g. bowls. And no BBQ cooking tools. Also no property information binder was found.

House was everything we were looking for-location to the Blue Ridge Mountains & Grandfather Mountain, plenty of room for our 3 families & exceptional view! It was our first time exploring the Blue Ridge and NC-proximity to hiking trails and waterfall trails was just perfect! Looking forward to our next NC vacation already!

Property smaller than what the pictures depicted but it was a lovely time and the place was very cozy

The property has the best view! Be sure you have a four wheel drive vehicle so you can traverse the mountain in hazardous conditions.

We had a great time staying in this home. It had everything we needed and the views were amazing from the home. It was close to Boone and Banner Elk. The home was clean and comfortable. We loved that it had four king beds! Great for couples traveling together.

My family had a wonderful time. The decor of the house was meticulous for the mountain location. The weather turned out so nice and we were able to relax on the porch for most of our 4 day stay. The Mountain View was as spectacular as the pictures show.

Beautiful view
The property itself is laid out nicely for a family. The four bedrooms are very roomy and comfortable. We did have a problem with the hot water heater the day before checking out and we received an email letting us know that they will be contacting someone but we never heard from anyone. So this resulted in two days of cold showers. Outside of that, it’s a great place to stay! If traveling in the snow, you will need a four wheel drive.

View from every level of the house is stunning! All king beds and they are super comfy. Kitchen includes anything you could need. TVs in each room are great quality. WiFi works extremely well and there is adequate cell service too. We enjoyed this fantastic property so much!

Great place to stay for a ski trip to Sugar/Beech. Would highly recommend.

A bit run down. Garage stunk and was FULL of beer bottles and litter even though we arrived 2+ hours after check-in, a broken lamp in one bedroom, a broken pool cue, malfunctioning and filthy hot tub full of clumps of hair, no beach towels for the hot tub, an empty bottle and a used Kleenex in one of the bedrooms, kitchen faucet that was wobbly, dirty dishes put away in the cupboards, cabinet door hanging off its hinges above the fridge, dirty carpet duct taped to the floor, upstairs bathroom door that doesn't shut properly, a pretty serious nail sticking up out of the seat of one of the dining chairs, old blankets on the beds with pulls and stains, driveway not shoveled or salted upon arrival, etc. With that said, it is spacious and kind of charming with spectacular views. It's on a quiet street and is convenient to Sugar Mountain and has loads more snow than the lower homes. Loved our time but felt for the money that the home was sort of a mess. Not being able to use the hot tub was a huge bummer too as my 8 and 9 year old were dying to get in and just sat in luke warm cloudy water with gross floaters and clods of hair around them.

Friends & Family Getaway
Spent 4 nights at Four Diamond Escape. Had a nice white surprise when we arrived, about 2" still on the ground and parts of the road. When the description and reviews tells you to take 4wd in the winter, they are not overreacting... Glad we did! This house is at the very top of a mountain with stunning views! The house was equipped with everything we needed. We plan to return!

Weekend stay with family
This home was awesome! Views were amazing and felt homey. The kitchen is one of the best stocked kitchens I have seen in short term rentals. We had everything we needed to cook our meals. The only issue we ran in to was with the hot tub. We made sure it was operating correctly when we arrived. However upon inspection in the daylight it appeared to have not been cleaned in awhile. Lots of hair floating around and the water appeared yellow. The problem was addressed promptly that day. It was emptied, cleaned and refilled. Unfortunately we were not able to to really enjoy it because the time it takes to warm back up. We still enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again!

Great location with terrific view
We didn’t realize this home was located at an elevation over 4,700 ft but it was a nice surprise. It’s in a very private subdivision with incredible views. We captured amazing sky views of the sunrise over the mountains each morning. Def coming back and glad we have a Subaru if we decide to book in the winter.

Four Diamond Escape
The house is very nice and the views are incredible. The kitchen is well stocked and the beds are comfortable. There are a few wear and tear issues like the living room rug that needs to be replaced due to the ends curling and becoming a trip hazard but other than that the house was very clean and had a very comfortable layout. We had 3 couples staying for a long weekend and all of us were very happy with our bedrooms and the living/dining areas were very comfortable. The only reason we are not giving it a 5 star review is that we had issues with the thermostat not working for the first two nights we were there and the garbage disposal was clogged when we got there. Both of these issues should have been noted and addressed when the house was inspected before we got there. But, the reservations team did reach out to us after our stay and we were compensated for the inconvenience of not having the air conditioning for two of our nights. All in all, I would recommend this place!

One week summer vacation
One week in August 2020 with my wife and 3 adult sons (ages 19-26). House had what we needed. Had 4 bedrooms; MBR was on main floor and had a door to a private front porch that was nice to sit on when shade was wanted. Downstairs MBR had door to the hot tub, which could also be accessed by an outside stairway. 2 BR upstairs shared a bath. The kitchen was very well stocked. There were 3 full propane tanks on the deck. Each BR had small soap and shampoos available. There was ample paper towels and toilet paper. Every room had TVs, though we primarily used FR tv with our chrome cast. Ample seating in FR for our family of 5, though comfortable max would be 6. Very large kitchen table seats 8, plus there is a picnic table on the deck. We loved the deck furniture and found it clean and comfortable, though we brought the cushions inside each night, so they would be dry in morning.
I almost did not rent this house due to a previous review that questioned the cleanliness of the home and quality of the furniture. My experience strongly contradicts what the previous renter noted in their negative review. I would rent again.
House is withing 30 minutes of a Zip Line, Grandfather Mountain, Moses Cone Park, and Julian Price Park. We hiked about 35 miles on strenuous trails(Linville Falls, Grandfather Trail/Macrae Peak, and Profile Trail) , plus there are many easy trails at MC Park, JP Park, and there is simple trail called Otter Falls on the way up to the house. We mostly read books on deck in AM, hiked during day, had a large home cooked meal in evening, watched TV and played board games (there is no real yard to play in, so if you have small children take this into account).
Drive up to house is typical of most mountain homes, with a lot of tight switchbacks, but within about 8 minutes you are up or down and you exit onto SR 105, which has easy access to nearby Boone, a closer grocery store, and connections over to SR 221/Blue Ridge Parkway.
Would rent again if our boys were with us, but the next time will probably be me and the wife alone, so will probably get a room in Blowing Rock (assuming COVID 19) has mostly resolved.

Fantastic week
We had a very enjoyable week at Four Diamond Escape. The home is beautiful and views are spectacular. The weather didn't cooperate as well as we would have hoped but we still were able to do most everything we had planned.
The home had everything one would need. We did have a few issues that maintenance came out and corrected which was greatly appreciated.
I would agree with an earlier review that the roads are very curvy getting up to the house from Hwy 105 but once you arrive it's beautiful.

Excellent
We absolutely had the best time here. We are typically go go go people, but Honestly we really didn't do much because our family was just so content staying at this beautiful home. Plenty to keep my family satisfied with just being together. We brought games and of course the hot tub and pool table kept everyone busy.

Not so great
This cabin needs a lot of TLC. To begin with both sets of sliding glass doors have huge heavy leaks. We had to place towels under the sliding glass door in the great room to absorb all the water that was coming inside on the hardwood floor. The kitchen faucet is very loose, kitchen cabinet doors are literally falling off, the carpet has urine stains on it, the furniture is extremely worn. One chair in the great room has the leather actually peeling off. The outdoor patio furniture is well worn past its usefulness, the outdoor grill is disgusting and was so dirty we could not use it. The fire pit is literally falling apart. The pool table “room” is gross as they just put a pool table on top of an old dirty garage floor. Since we were there a week I wanted to vacuum and the vacuum is even broken. It didn't have a handle. Overall we could not wait to leave and the cabin was not even close to worth the money we paid for it. Very disappointing!

Beautiful Views
Overall, this was a very good property. I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 for a couple of reasons, though. When we arrived, the hot tub was not working properly. It took 2 visits from the maintenance man to fix it so we didn't have a hot tub for the first 36 hours. Property management was great, though, and was on top of our complaints. This property has an incredible view, but you definitely need to know that it is located at the VERY top of the mountain. I'm pretty sure you cannot go any further. The roads get smaller and more steep as you get closer to the top so be prepared(not a bad thing, just giving you a heads up). And lastly, pay close attention to the add on pricing with this property. I did not and the nightly rate I thought I was getting was not actually the rate at all. There was quite a bit of "extras" added in.

Amazing view and nice property. We enjoyed our stay. No complaints at all. Only suggestion would be to provide trash bags (there was only one trash bag). Also, fireplace would not turn on.

Beautiful home with beautiful views. Everything was provided that you could even think of. The master bathroom was amazing! Gas fire pit was great. Would stay again when in the area.
The only thing was the temperature of the hot tub. The water was too cold to stay in. But other than that, no complaints what so ever. If only Mother Nature had been so accommodating.

Mountain Retreat in the Fall.
First our party consisted of six Australians who normally live at sea level. We are all at or approaching 80 years of age.
The home is immaculately clean, well equipped and comfortable, spoiled only by a first impression that it had not been open for a significant period of time. A couple of hours with doors and windows open and the thermostats set correctly resolved that impression.
That said we, as seniors, learned a couple of things we will need to check on for the future:
(1) ask about the bathroom's facilities for seniors - hand rails on the bath/shower and taller toilets.
(2) how many steps up or down need to be negotiated between levels.
(3) What kind of weather to expect during our stay - we saw the view on the evening we arrived and nothing more night or day due to dense fog/cloud until we descended to the valley floor on the morning of our departure. We were glad to see TVs in each room and a pool table in the garage.
These comments are not intended negatively, just notes to ourselves as senior citizens.
