This is the INN, not the stable! Too bad that we could stay only one night. I absolutely love this place. Awesome ambience. Welcoming staff, clean and friendly rooms, a great place also to be as a group.

Nice place in the heart of the historical city, with a friendly host.

Dar al Majus has taken the concept of the three Kings and the rooms have the names of them and also names from the Bible. It is located right at the heart of the city next to Manger Square and therefore near many sights and also the market. It is located in an old stone building and is quite beautiful. There are actually two places sharing the buildings, Dar al Majus and the Bread house. Guests from both houses have a basic breakfast at the Bread House restaurant in the courtyard, consisting of pita bread, boiled eggs, two kinds of jam, cheese and cake.
The owners of Dar al Majus are quite friendly and helpful and they are also social workers and run a site underneath the hotel, accessible from around the corner or through the reception area.
There's a roof terrace, which is quite large and offers nice views, a fridge, TV, a stove, a sink, etc.
You can find guidebooks at reception and on a shelf on the top floor to give you ideas on what to see and where to go.
Quite good WIFI connection.
We had room 5, a double room, which was quite small and basic. No room to move and to store suitcases and spread out your belongings. The bathroom was quite narrow, too. The room next to us and the one opposite are also very small. The twin room(s) are much bigger and very beautiful.
It is quite chilly and humid in the building. Must be due to the stone construction.
Even though you don't hear any traffic noise, you hear noise from the corridor and the other rooms and the muezzin calling to prayer at the crack of dawn. Take earplugs if you want to sleep.
The owner of the Bread House spends all day sitting in the courtyard and annoys the guests with various questions and tries to persuade them to have a coffee or meal at his restaurant, which is located inside the courtyard. He came in one day, while four of us were sitting at the table having breakfast and a conversation and wanted to take a picture of us, saying that we look like a family. We refused.
No WIFI connection in there.

Located right in the main square of old town Bethlehem.
Old grotto rooms are lovely with great atmosphere.
Very clean room and bathroom.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Breakfast is decent but basic

Beautiful place in the heart of Bethlehem, very close to the major attractions and shopping area. Rent the triple room -- it's incredible! No central heating but they provided enough portable heaters to make it very warm. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
One thing -- the windows open up to a very busy road, so do not book this room if you want peace and quiet! Lots of cars honking and playing loud music, tourists etc.

This guest house is a true gem in a perfect location right at manger square. The rooms have a lovely design and are sparkling clean as are the toilets and showers. There’s a sheltered roof top terrace with a small but fully equipped kitchen which is free for guests to use. A simple but delicious Palestinian breakfast is served in a common room downstairs by a family who live in the guest house to look after it. They also offer dinner on request.
The staff at the guest house are most helpful and accommodating and more than happy to assist with any problem as well as offer their local knowledge to the guests.
There’s nothing to seriously dislike however guests with mobility issues should check with the guest house what level of accessibility can be accommodated.
The location means the buzz in Star Street is audible as is the Muezzin call of the Omar Mosque. However, this makes it a very authentic experience and easy to make most of the day if one is awake at dawn.

Decor and ambiance of the property were astounding. The old stone style ceilings and we had a little seating nook in our unit. It was a CUTE location. We only stayed one night everywhere during our trip in West Bank to spend more time in each town, so we really didn't spend much time here. Checked in after 4 pm, was gone before 8 am. Breakfast was a nice feature by another boutique hotel owner. Forgot his name, but a sweetheart!
No heater with the temperature outside, only a portable a/c in our unit. Reception/Check-in was awkward and disorganized. between their NGO and the actual hotel. I own boutique hotels in Belize - and I just felt like it could be done a bit better.

This is a building where you can feel the history in the walls. From the second you step in from the bustle of Manger Square you are hit with tranquility. Our room had windows which opened onto the street with an amazing area for reclining. The beds were extremely comfortable. The hosts are some of the most hospitable we have come across, they made made us feel so relaxed and welcome from the moment we arrived. We cannot wait to return as soon as possible.
We liked everything

If you are planning to visit Bethlehem you should stay in Dar Al-Majus guest house managed by ATS pro Terra Sancta, a no-profit association that works in several places in the Middle East. We arrived late, we were really tired and the manager promptly helped us. The room was amazing, everything was super clean, all the staff was kind, helpful and the breakfast was delicious. You should also visit the shop of social community work where you buy lovely handicrafts made by the local community. I highly recommend this place!

Amazing place to stay with lovely hosts and they do a lot of charity work and support people in the local area. It's also right in manger square and ideal location for exploring. I would reccomend everyone to stay here. Lovely roof top as well! Good size room!
It was wonderful, nothing bad to note.
