About this house rental

Welcome to Lowen House, located in the charming seaside fishing village of Looe in Cornwall, close to plenty of shops, restaurants and a pretty sandy beach.

Lowen House is a beautiful Victorian town house set in a quiet location up the hill in West Looe. It has stunning views over the estuary and up the river valley surrounded by rolling hills. The house comes with a mix of classical and modern furnishings along with a garden lounge, perfect for a barbecue or afternoon tea.

The house has three comfortable bedrooms and a fully equipped kitchen, along with a modern bathroom complete with both a walk in shower and a bath.
You can enjoy our bright lounge with comfortable sofas and views over the surrounding hills, as well as the front garden. We also have a fully fitted modern kitchen to prepare new culinary experiences from freshly caught fish, which are available from the quayside fishmongers. Other fresh local produce is also available in the town below just a 5 minutes walk away.

Equipment to make your stay more enjoyable includes smart TVs in the lounge and two of the bedrooms. Every room has wireless Bluetooth speakers that you can use to create a sound system that covers the whole house. USB plug inns are also provided in every room.

The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. An iron and ironing board are also included, as well as central heating and two fireplaces to keep away the chill in colder months.

The house has a parking space for two smaller cars or one larger SUV.

Looe has a harbour and a long stretch of a sandy beach, framed by the famous Banjo Pier, which makes it a popular destination during the summer months. There is a seafront walkway leading away from the village to a second beach complete with tide pools and good snorkelling for the more adventurous visitors. Many pubs, restaurants and cafes provide tastes for every palette, while the nearby vineyards offer tastings in high quality local artisan wines.

From the harbour, you can embark on a fishing or pleasure boat trip. The excursion to Looe Island’s bird and wildlife sanctuary is stunning. Or a ferry ride to nearby towns of Fowey and Polperro. The latter was once a thriving centre for smuggling and is now famous for a festival held in June that includes live music of many genres, dance, street entertainment, theatre and children's entertainment.

There are also numerous walks around the Looe and Polperro Heritage Coast for those who like to enjoy the nature and the beautiful views of the rugged Cornish coastline. If you're feeling energetic, you can even take on the 12-mile hike on the Coastal path all the way to Polruan, passing high above turquoise seas and white sandy beaches.

Many popular surfing and diving spots are also just a short ride away.

Fantastic rental for our week in Looe. Close enough to all the hustle and bustle /amenities of the beautiful seaside town. But far enough out / up! that it is wonderfully peaceful at the property to relax after busy days out. The house was equipped with more than you will ever need. Kitchen/bathroom etc. 5 min walk from the harbour. Description and directions where very clear and accurate. Loved our stay here. The house itself is so well kept, clean, spacious and lovely and cool which was a relief from the heat after a lot of hill walking . Cannot fault the property .

Great House, very close to town centre
Great House, very close to town centre
Myself and my entire family adored this house, its a bit quirky and the steep stairs at the back make your heart flutter a bit, especially if it's raining, but we were told about this before hand, so knew what to expect. However the house itself was perfect, very clean, the kitchen was fully equipped, more than expected, couldn't of asked for anything more, they had even thought about foil and cling film and provided dishwasher and washing machine tablets. The bedrooms were very clean and along with the living room were very warm and inviting. The property is a very short walk into Looe Harbour itself, 5 minutes if you're a fast walker, ten if you are a bit slower, where there is endless cafes and restaurants to choose from, along with lots of lovely shops. Overall we had a amazing time here, and would love to return to this property if we ever come back to looe, I would highly recommend this property, Janina was amazing at keeping us informed in the run up to the holiday and only at the end of an email if we needed anything during the holiday. Thank you for making our little holiday great.

Great location fantastic house
Good location great house although not one to relax in as everything was white ! sadly access very limited from back and no mention of main road to the front Very noisy day and night Also very limited on cooking utensils - no chopping board or saucepans limited what could be cooked especially during the current pandemic when so little was open or fully booked.

Lovely house great view. More information needed re access.
Lovely house great view. More information needed re access.
A lovely cottage. Unfortunately the access from the rear very very steep, especially scary when carrying a baby in a car seat. The front gate opens straight on to a very busy road with a bend in each direction, you certainly would not take a buggy or children out of the front. Do not feel this was made clear.
